Santa Maria del Carmine, Pisa

The church stands at the bottom of the square of the same name which opens to the left of the current Corso Italia, the ancient via S. Gilio (or S. Egidio). Founded by Carmelite friars in 1325, the church with the adjoining convent underwent radical transformations between the second half of the sixteenth century and 1612, the year of its reconsecration. There was extensive damage during the Second World War, as demonstrated by the reconstruction of the exposed concrete truss roof, built in 1965. The fourteenth-century forms were completely hidden inside by the reorganization of the furnishings decided by the Council of Trent, in particular from the replacement of the ancient altars with Baroque ones, while on the outside it is still possible to recognize the original Gothic brick structure (northern side).
Of note is the construction, starting from 1425, of the chapel commissioned by the notary Giuliano di Colino degli Scarsi, for which Masaccio created the large altarpiece now dismembered between Pisa ( Museum of S. Matteo , S. Paolo), London ( National Gallery), Berlin (Staatliche Museen), Naples (Capodimonte Museum) and Malibu (Paul Getty Museum).

Bellissima chiesa con un bellissimo chiostro, quest’ultimo accessibile solo in occasione di eventi speciali. È stata appena totalmente restaurate ed è più splendente che mai. In questa chiesa era ospitato il Polittico di Pisa di Masaccio ormai smembrato in più musei. Le parti sopravvissute sono al Museo di San Matteo di Pisa, al Museo di Capodimonte di Napoli, alla National Gallery di Londra, al Getty Museum di Los Angeles e allo Staatliche Museen di Berlino.

Chiesa edificata dai Carmelitani nel Quattrocento, ospitava il celebre Polittico di Masaccio le cui parti, purtroppo, sono state trasportate in musei sparsi in ogni continente. Piccola, decorata, un altare imponente sono le cose che colpiscono chi entra. Da visitare.

Non ho fatto foto all'interno, ma vi posso dire che davvero molto bella. Consiglio a tutti di entrare e vedere con i propri occhi. La prossima volta aggiungo le foto degli interni.

La chiesa è stata costruita nel XIV secolo ed ampliata nel XVI secolo. L'interno è molto bello, ad una sola navata con altari barocchi e statue di molti santi. Sulla destra dell'altare maggiore c'è l'ingresso al chiostro trecentesco adibito ora a luogo d'incontri, concerti e mostre. La chiesa è anche luogo di raccoglimento per i fedeli pisani.

Piacevolissima sorpresa, l'esterno della chiesa tradisce la ricchezza interna di opera d'arte. Veramente affascinante, da visitare assolutamente. Merita i pieni voti

Una iglesia sencilla en su arquitectura pero muy acogedora

Очень харизматичное место. Причём, если в самой Пизе, смотреть по большому счёту - нечего(3 часа на весь город), то сам этот комплекс реально советую посетить. Очень красиво и запомниться надолго
