Another good experience and a must see in Palermo! There is a security screening to enter the property so be mindful of this.
This city is filled with historical sites and its such an amazing feeling be able to see and experience these things.

The highlight of the trip to the Norman Palace and completely unexpected. A very lavish chapel on the 1st floor that I honestly rate higher than the Sistine chapel in the Vatican.

I am visiting it for the second time and for the second time I am impressed by the Palatine Chapel. One of the most impressive churches I have ever seen. We visited it at the end of December, there were not many tourists and we were able to enjoy the beauty of the mosaics and ceilings. The building is a mixture of Byzantine, Norman and Fatimid architectural styles, showing the tricultural state of Sicily in the 12th century. It took eight years to build, with the mosaics only partially completed by 1143. The sanctuary, dedicated to Saint Peter, resembles a domed basilica. It has three apses, as was common in Byzantine architecture, with six pointed arches (three on each side of the central nave) resting on recycled classical columns. The vaulted ceiling of the nave and the rectilinear shape of the chapel are impressive. The mosaics are fascinating with their brilliance and uniqueness. Unique!

Mast have to visit if you are in Palermo! Stunning and unique place what will blow up your mind! Absolutely creamy mix of styles and you have to see it at least once in your life.
Better to buy tickets in the kiosk what is not far away from the entrance, as according to the security with e-tickets might be some issues, especially if it was not bought in advance. Surprisingly there were no lines.

We paid to do all four things and an extra 5 euros each for an audio tour, which I highly recommend. It took about 4 hours to see everything. A must do.

Spectacular golden mosaics in the Chapel. The apartments are ONLY open Friday-Sunday. Avoid at all costs the special multi-media exhibit which took us an hour in line for a 5 minute "experience. " An hour of our lives we will never get back.

The Palatine Chapel inside the Norman Palace is a real hidden gem. It's small but absolutely gorgeous with all its detailed mosaics and artwork. Just a heads-up: they don't like showing too much skin, so dress accordingly. Even though it’s a tiny space, the beauty packed into it is amazing. If you’re exploring the palace, definitely make time to check out this chapel. It's got a unique vibe that's really worth experiencing.

Nice place, I guess it has to be seen
when in Palermo. The main attraction is the church. Beautiful mosaics, really spectacular. The rest is a bit hit and miss. The royal garden is nothing grand, few contemporary exhibits along the way, that frankly can easily be missed. Price wise, it is a bit stiff for what's on offer.

Very small church, but probably the most beautiful I saw in my life. You'll be able to get here with palace tickets, and, probably, it's the only worth visiting place in the whole palace. Ceiling is beautiful and so unusual, mosaics are marvelous and, obviously, a lot and a lot of gold around. Real masterpiece.

A bit expensive to enter but there are 4 distinct areas to visit that cover a time span from BC to 1800s so a decent value. We went on a rainy Monday so the line to get tickets was 15 minutes but we’re glad we waited in it.

This was the highlight from our visit to Palermo, absolutely fabulous. Unlike other churches, the price is worth the visit, since the illumination of the chapel allows the visitor to make the most of the visit by admiring each detail at your own pace. The bookstore sells outstanding books to understand the mosaic decoration, and the construction of the chapel under Roger II, . This is one of the best religious spaces in Italy, whenever you are in Palermo do not hesitate to visit this marvel of Norman Sicily, definitely a lifetime experience.

Masterpiece with every single stone as part of a magnificent Cappella. The moment of peace that surrounds you, while you are sitting inside and trying to soak every piece of information, is incredible. Try to find a missing element - almost impossible. Look back at those times and all available tools / technic - unbelievable how great the human mind and hand could be! Don't miss out and visit it for yourself!

Very nice to visit the best is Palatine Chapel woooow I was mesmerised although they should include the audio guide in the 15 euro you pay for the ticket!!! It's 5 euro more but it's OK worth to have a guide inside so you know what the mosaics and the operas are about. Also some days of the week the Royal rooms are closed so choose wise when to go if you want to see those too.
Don't forget to royal gardens you will be surprised I love those big trees

This place is magical, not just for the sheer beauty, age and preservation, but for being unique in having been created by artisans from all over medeival Europe blending muslim, byzantine, and european gothic styles. An absolute architectural gem along with Montreale.

One of the highlights of Palermo - for good reasons. Be prepared for long lines at the ticket office (you can also book online) and long lines to get in, but the wait is worth it. This small chapel (on the 1st floor of the royal palace) stuns visitors with exquisit golden mosaics in the Byzantine style and beautiful marble inlays on the floor. Besides the church, you can also visit the royal apartments and the royal garden. There is an elevator for wheelchairs and strollers, but there are still quite a number of stairs in the royal apartments.

This does not always feature on top lists for Palermo which makes no sense. There is so much to see here in what is also a working government building.
In a city with many churches the Palantine Chapel is still a stand out. Next up are the Royal apartments which are interesting and beautiful.
The garden is a welcome change of pace but I would give the cafe a miss.
Then there are the art galleries. When we visited this includes Steve McCurry "Freedom" which is very powerful, there will be something for everyone though.
Tips:
Not everything is always open so make sure in advance. We went on a Friday when everything was open but I don't know if that is always the case. On Thursday hardly anything was.
It gets very busy with many groups including schools so definitely try to get there when it opens.
