If you’re hiking Etna or just plan on visiting the Sicilian coast, take a drive inland to stay at this place. It’s charming and quiet. Everything on the property has been carefully and tastefully curated by the host, Denise. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable.

Amazing place! I never knew this town was so great. Denise treated us like family and made us feel at home. She helped us with activities and dinner each night. Breakfast was outstanding! The views were fantastic! I am so glad we found this place and we will be back!

Our room was in a 'cave' and thanks to this it was always cool. Which was great given the hot weather. The balcony offers a great view of the little town and you can the the Etna. Really beautiful!

The little town is also a tipical Sicilian place with cute little streets (avoid coming here with a large car) and friendly people.

I would recommend staying here!

The most wonderful place we stayed during our holidays! The room is luxe and spacious with a view to live for. Denise made everything more special and memorabele. She gave great advise and we just loved to stay with her.

An amazing house at the highest point of Castiglione di Sicilia with wonderful views of Etna and the surrounding countryside. This is a luxury accommodation that offers peace and quiet but is also fantastically located to explore the Etna area. Denise, our host, offered the most welcoming hospitality and a very very generous breakfast of local delicacies every morning. A truly unforgettable holiday!

This Sicilian family home has been beautifully renovated by the lady owner, Denise du Chene de Vere. The result is an exquisite mixture of beautiful antiques and contemporary pieces.
Perched at the top of a small village with a terrace overlooking Etna, it also has incredible views over the village church and the castle. As the last few hundred yards are a little tight for access by car Denise's assistant Oksana met us on the village square nearby and guided us to the property. We were given plenty of very useful and wide-ranging advice (a lovely restaurant, a barber and the name of a wonderful guide for a tour of Etna)
We were also fortunate to have dinner at the property on the second night - a lavish Sicilian meal prepared by a traditional village cook with an interesting choice of Sicilian wines. Altogether an amazing experience off the beaten track and wonderful service. Highly recommended.

La Dimora Del Castelluccio is nothing short of perfection. My fiancé and I were looking to stay in the Etna area to explore the local wineries and as soon as we saw the photos of Denise’s B&B we were sold. I must say the photos do not even do the home justice. Denise’s home is an architectural dream, built up in the hills of Castiglione di Sicilia. She recently renovated the entire house and every detail, from the artwork to the finishings, feels luxurious yet homey.

We were welcomed by Denise and Oxana with a glass of wine and warm conversation, offering recommendations for a late dinner that evening and lunch the next day. Perhaps the best part of our experience though was the breakfast each morning. Oxana prepared the most beautiful spread for us outside on the terrace for us to enjoy while the birds chirped and we gazed upon Mt. Etna.

It is worth noting that the roads are tight and windy on the way up to the top of Castiglione di Sicilia, but definitely doable, especially in a little car! We had some issues with google maps working, so listen to Denise’s directions.

We cannot have asked for a nicer place to call home during our stay, or for more kind and gracious hosts. Thank you Denise and Oxana! We hope to be back again.

La Dimora is on top of a hill with unobstructed views of Mt Etna! This is one of a few reasons why you should stay here. We spent 5 nights at La Dimora. We chose this accommodation as we wanted to explore the Etna wine Region and the Surrounding towns. We wanted to stay in a small town but the town we chose is very small. This little town is lovely but is not super lively anymore.
La Dimora is a beautiful home that has been lovingly and painstakingly restored by Denise. It is simply stunning and the cleanest place we have ever stayed.
The house has 2 large very comfortable guest rooms with large beds and an ensuite each. Breakfast is an epic affair and different every day and Denise and Oxana go to all lengths to ensure your every need is met.
The town is on a hill and the streets are narrow and there are lots of steps to get around. There are 56 to the front door of the house and then another 2 flights to the bedrooms so I would not recommend this accommodation if stairs are a challenge. Also ensure you have a small car! We just made it up the hill in our Audi A5 but it was touch and go on a couple of occasions. Anyone who has driven around Italy will know the roads are challenging and the streets are tiny! We have learnt our lesson.
The only negative is that we had to pay for water and tea and coffee. I feel that this should have been included in the room rate as it is high for the area, also the laundry costs were very high so be mindful if you need washing done. The only 2 negatives.
Lastly Denise and Oxana have so much knowledge on the are and organised 2 great wine experiences for us. They booked restaurants and can source any info needed on things to do in the area.
Would I come back? Yes!

We spent a week in this elegant apartment. The hospitality we received was unrivaled in our experience. Guiding us out of the town's labyrinthine streets, obtaining seating at fully booked restaurants, arranging wine tasting -- and providing the ever-changing gourmet breakfasts we looked forward to -- all made our stay special.

La Dimora del Castelluccio is probably the nicest place I've ever stayed in. The accommodation, the location, the facilities, and the hostess, are absolutely top class. Highly recommended!

Just excellent - we felt like we were the long awaited family guests. Breakfast was amazing - many different tastes, local fruit, and all that while having a great view of Etna - can't imagine a better place!!

Il ne faut pas hésiter à quitter le littoral pour se hisser jusqu'au sommet de Castiglione di Sicilia et rejoindre La Dimora del Castelluccio car la récompense en est décuplée : un accueil très attentionné de Denise, aux petits soins de ses hôtes, une chambre ravissante et confortable avec un sublime point de vue sur l'Etna (quand il veut bien dévoiler son sommet), un petit déjeuner vraiment exceptionnel servi sur la jolie terrasse... Que du bonheur ! Et pour ne rien gâter, deux bons restaurants à quelques mètres seulement.

La Dimora del Castelluccio è un luogo dove è possibile vivere un’esperienza che va oltre la vacanza ed il viaggio. Finiture di pregio, mobili d’epoca ed un servizio caloroso sono solo una cornice di un luogo che si pone in una posizione strategica tra il vulcano, il parco dei Nebrodi e la costa est della Sicilia. Posta nella zona più alta del paese, la Dimora gode di una vista sensazionale sul versante nord del vulcano. Dalle finestre delle stanze è possibile scorgere viste del centro storico di uno dei borghi più belli d’Italia e del vulcano che spesso offre suggestive immagini durante i suoi periodi di attività. Denise ed il suo personale sono sempre molto attenti alle necessità dei loro ospiti e contribuiscono in ogni modo a rendere il soggiorno alla dimora del Castelluccio un’esperienza esclusiva. Definirlo B&B credo sia un po’ riduttivo, la Dimora del Castelluccio è un luogo dove è subito facile sentirsi a casa con i comfort di un hotel esclusivo.

Ein wunderbarer Ort! Das Städchen ist sehr authentisch, liegt am nördlichen Hang des Ätnas auf der Höhe 621 m ü.M. und doch nicht weit von der Küste entfernt. Einige Weingüter beinden sich in der Region. Die Ruhe und frische Luft garantieren einen gesunden und erholsamen Schlaf. Das B&B befindet sich in einer sehr gepflegten und geschmackvoll eingerichteten Liegenschaft. Der Blick aus der Terrasse ist atemberaubend. Die Gastgeberin Denise ist eine wunderbare Persönlichkeit, sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Oksana, Assistentin von Denise, bereitet das Frühstück vor, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Das B&B ist sehr empfehlenswert!

Accueil très chaleureux de la part de Denise! Magnifique maison, décorée avec goûts. Des chambres luxueuses et confortables. Un petit déjeuner complet, incluant des spécialités siciliennes, avec vue sur l'Etna! Je recommande vivement!

Ein tolles Hotel in einer fantastischen Lage. La Dimora hat nur zwei, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Zimmer. Dafür gibt es das sehr leckere Frühstück auf einer Terasse mit einem fantastischem Blick auf den Ätna. Donna Denise und ihre Assistentin Oxana kümmern sich wundervoll um alle Gäste. La Dimora ist ein Erlebnis, dass wir nicht vergessen werden und anderen Gästen nur ans Herz legen können.
