5 of my friends & I went and visited Paolo for a wine cheese and meats tasting in the middle of July and we really enjoyed our session.

First of all, Paolo was such a fantastic and courteous host, one of our cars got stuck in the jam on the way over and he kindly waited almost an hour before beginning the session.

Paolo mentioned that he is anthropologist focusing on the food and culture, and the session included him explaining the charm and cultivation processes of each produce we tasted, as well as the history that was tied to each of it in an extremely comprehensive manner (in English as well)!

The portions of cheeses, meats, wine and dessert we tasted were huge. We did not expect such generous portions (it’s a good thing) so I recommend to come hungry!

At the end of the session Paolo even took time to write us some recommendations for the next town we were visiting.

We made our booking quite easily via WhatsApp and the tasting lasted about 2 hours and 15 mins.

What an amazing find this was. A brilliant experience for our group of 6 nestled in the Tuscan hills. The wine was amazing, but the snack pairing was superb.

We (Aussie couple visiting Tuscany) booked a tasting with Paolo in summer.

We had a lovely time, the tasting notes and explanations of the history and background of the wine and cheese and foods was very interesting and enjoyable. Paolo is so kind and passionate, it’s impossible not to enjoy.

It’s a must do, providing an insight into a family and history of the area that’s very special and different to what is offered at the cellar doors of the large producers.

We drove and parked in the parking behind the school, 2min walk to the Bottega.

A friend of mine told me that booking a Bottega Pecchioli wine tasting session was a "MUST" do during my trip. Let me say that he was absolutely correct!

Paolo has a heart of gold and his passion is easily discovered by his production of quality oil and the family selection of fine wine that his family produces. It was a delight to converse and hear the stories Paolo had to share.

It was such a nice bonus to experience the fresh pastries from his cousins bakery as a pairing with the wine.

You haven't experienced all the best of Italy if you haven't visited this gem!

Yesterday we went to the tasting at bottega Pecchioli, it was a wonderful experience. It is located in an authentic tuscan village. At the store we were welcomed by Paulo who had prepared a three stage tuscan tasting menu. During the tasting he explained traditional tuscan cuisine with local cheeses and cold cuts accompanied by his own wines. An amazing experience because Paulo explained everything with great passion and a heart for hospitality. We can truly recommend going here.

This is why you come to Italy! We wandered into Paolo's store just looking for supplies and were greeted with warmth, knowledge, and incredible hospitality. There is a basement tasting room and Paolo treated us to an incredible cheese tasting, with such a way with words and choices that make you realize you've eaten cheese wrong your entire life. It doesn't get any better than this. We will come back just for this-make it a point to get out of Florence and see this incredible place

I've never written a review before, but this experience just deserves one: Contacting Paolo is super easy, a short E-Mail is enough, he responds immediately and you can make an appointment with him for a tasting. The tasting itself was the highlight of this and even all our previous vacations. He made an appointment just for the two of us and the tasting lasted for more than two hours. The products that you can taste at his place are excellent, but what makes them really special, is the way he arranges and combines them. But what makes the tasting so unforgettable is Paolo himself: He lives for what he does. He is passionate, warm and super friendly, within a very short time you have the feeling that you have known each other for ages. In addition to the excellent wine and food, Paolo also has an extensive knowledge of the history of his products. We recommend this incredible experience and will definitely be back the next time we are in Tuscany. Thank you Paolo for your time and this fantastic afternoon that we will remember for a long time. It was truly something very special.

Friends got married at the nearby, Tenuto San Vito and we were looking for a nearby wine tasting. Found Paulo's place after online searching and the reviews sounded good.. we had a group of 10 and had an amazing experience going room to room and trying the different wines and foods paired together. We were looking for a supermarket to buy beers to enjoy the night and for our great luck Paulo had a cellar with great wines! He instantly suggested to us to try his great wine. Awesome place for wine tasting! We came in the shop to simply buy some groceries, and within 5 minutes we were in the basement tasting an excellent rose. Paulo is super friendly and we had a very nice chat about making wine, including technical drawings. Best shopping experience ever

What an amazing experience. We had a very indulgent food and wine tasting, we were so full. Paulo is very passionate about the food and wine and puts so much attention to detail to ensure he delivers a quality experience to guest.

We had a 1 year old with us and Paulo was very accommodating to us and the other couple with a 6 month old.

A highlight of our trip to Tuscany.

We flew into Florence late in the afternoon and wanted to fit a wine tasting in and we were so happy we chose Bottega Pecchioli. They were actually closed at the time but Paolo graciously took us in and gave us the best wine tasting experience we've ever had! We have had tastings in many wineries around the world and this was by far the #1 experience we have had. The food and wine was great but the excellent service, stories and history made it a special time with Paolo! We will never forget our time and will definitely come back the next time we are in Italy!! Thanks Paolo!

I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic wine tasting experience. After a day in Florence we visited Bottega Pecchioli and it was really great. Paolo was an amazing host. We had a variety of wines and traditional Italian aperitivos/snacks that accompanied the wine. Paolo has a lot of great stories about Italian food and wine and provides an excellent experience throughout the whole tasting. We will be back, gracias Paolo!

When my husband first found Bottega Pecchioli we were kind of worried that it might be like one of those online products with a bunch of fake reviews. Let me tell you, though, that visiting Paolo at Bottega Pecchioli is THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE. Words cannot do it justice; it was by far the most exceptional experience food/tasting/travel experience my husband and I have ever done.

Everything was so perfect from the minute we arrived until the second we left. The welcoming and greeting, the presentation, the scientific explanations, the historic stories— they all added to the amazing food and wine. We ended up checking an extra bag after buying 10 items from Paolo. Every course was absolutely phenomenal. And it was all SO affordable.

Paolo has so much passion. He will feed off your energy, so the more you give the more you will get from the experience. My husband and I have talked about this experience every day since it happened. We will most certainly visit again when we go back to Italy.

Two tips:
1. Paolo is professor of anthropology. Go down rabbit holes with him!
2. For my fellow gluten free folks… if you know in advance that you will be doing this let Paolo know. He may be able to accommodate gluten-free options sometimes. We planned very last minute, so I ended up bringing my own gluten-free bread.

Best tasting ever!! Paolo is amazing with all his knowledge about food and culture and has stories for days. He experiments with his food and wine combinations and you will experience incredible flavours. Highly recommended and enjoy!

We had an incredible experience tasting wine and food here at Bottega Pecchioli! Paolo was a wonderful host who was gracious enough to pick us up from our airbnb nearby and take us through three amazing courses, starting with cheeses, fruits and nuts, meandering through meats and breads and oils and on to desserts each paired with delicious wines. We learned a lot, had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend a tasting here to anyone who loves food or wine!

My husband and I are fortunate to have traveled the world, and also to live in California where we get to visit excellent wine tastings all over. Visiting Paolo at BOTTEGA PECCHIOLI has been by far the most exceptional experience we have ever had. This is not just a wine tasting but he brings you gentle offerings of all the wonderful things that this region offers: wine, different cheeses, jams, and the best darn prosciutto you’ve ever had. His family has been making wine for 315 years, and the tasting is on the first floor of their family home, while the shop is adjacent to their home. You can pay to have the wine and olive oil that you buy from them home so you don’t even have to worry about packing it in your suitcase. A piece of heaven.

Words won't ever do this tasting justice. Imagine the most authentic, kind, gracious, humble, intelligent and welcoming man in the world, serving you DELICIOUS wine and food. It gets better - the wine and cold meats are his own, you're in his family's home, and there is family history and tradition all around you. We had an amazing afternoon at Paolos Bottega. Paolo is very passionate in what he does. From the first moment you feel welcome. The (familymade) wines, cold cuts and pastry are delicious. It's very well worth visiting. A great experience.
