Boutique Hotel Poggio Piglia

Poggio Piglia was the highlight of our trip - simple as that. The service from Sergio & Roberta felt like family (because they are) no detail missed over breakfast, lunch, dinner, wine reservations, pizza recommendations… they did it all.

The grounds are magical, well maintained and smell of fresh flowers. The food is A+ with an incredible team in the kitchen - thank you chef! Make this a stop on your Tuscan trip & you will not regret it.

Not sure why Google classified this as a one-star hotel. We stayed here for a few days on our honeymoon and were completely blown away by the property. The staff were so beyond kind and made us feel like family. Very small amount of rooms so the whole experience felt very intimate which we loved. Truly an unforgettable place, it’s hard to describe how special it feels here.

A beautiful, peaceful boutique experience. We stayed for a week in June. The room was the perfect size, comfortable and excellent bathroom. The grounds and pool were perfect to find a quiet spot to relax after a day hiking. The restaurant was delicious and convenient with enough choice we ate there 5 out of 7 nights. The staff are what make the difference, thank you Sergio, Bianca, Solare, Roberta, Poggina the cat and the chefs and cleaners.

A quiet and luxurious getaway from the cities located between Chiusi and Montepulciano. It's so peaceful there. The views are beautiful. Would have loved to use the pool if it were warmer, but had the company of a wonderful cat that hung out with us as we lounged and drank many cappuccinos. If there was one imperfection ( which was hard to find), I would recommend some more vegetarian or fish options on the menu. The people are very helpful, take care of all your needs and most importantly are warm like family. - Absolutely coming back here !!!!

I read some reviews about this place before we went. The reviews all praised the food but I have to say I was a bit skeptical, before I tried it. The dinner menu is phenomenal and the somewhat small wine collection is on point. I found a local super tuscan that paired perfectly with our meal. This is a true Tuscan dream.

We had the most wonderful time in this countryside gem of a hotel, surrounded by olive groves and rolling green hills. Perfect location for exploring southern Tuscany. Staff was very helpful and friendly, waiting staff at the restaurant as well. Very good breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The pool isn’t heated but it usually never is, the sun heat it up for a refreshing swim. A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the calm of the Tuscan countryside.

We recently stayed here before traveling to our final destination in Italy. This place is truly restorative and inspiring! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, clean, and unique! The food at the restaurant was by far some of the best food we had during our trip in Italy! Bravo to the chef! Will definitely come back and stay here again when we come through the Tuscany area.

My boyfriend and I had the most splendid time visiting poggio piglia this July. We both agreed it was the best hotel we have stayed at and we have traveled all over the world. The service was top notch and the food was divine, I’m vegetarian so the menu was tricky for me but the chef was very accommodating. The pool was beautiful with the surrounding Tuscany vistas and olive trees. Also, Sergio and Francesco we’re so friendly and professional. An absolute paradise. Will be returning!

Amazing stay. The staff was incredible. They remembered our coffee orders, remembered our dinner orders from the previous night, had our breakfast table set for 3 people knowing we’d sit with our friend in a different room, and even came out in the pouring rain to bring us an umbrella. The hotel was gorgeous. It was renovated, clean, and had a very nice pool. The restaurant was amazing - our favorite in the area. The best bread we’ve ever had. And an amazing breakfast. They gave great recommendations for local activities and booked us a great wine tasting. Amazing hospitality and absolutely worth every penny. The restaurant manager was particularly great - he went above and beyond for us. The best hotel of our trip. Thank you to everyone there!

Best stay of our vacation. We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of this property. The staff were so genuine and kind. They recommended local wine tasting which was excellent. The food quality and presentation at the hotel was totally on point. When you visit, make sure you wake up and enjoy the full sunrise. Stunning views. So peaceful and beautiful. We will return in the future.

Great Hotel and extremely nice staff. We got in late and did not know where to get food so we decided to eat at the Hotel, surprisingly it was some of the best food we had in out time in Tuscany. We had the Octopus, the Charcoal Gnocchi Ragu and Spaghetti in Red sauce with a parmesan foam and a bottle of the house wine and it was amazing. Definitely a future Hotel and restaurant to go to when in the region.

This hotel is just fantastic! I spent only 2 nights with my family, but we were delighted with the service and the very empathetic staff. It is located in a short way towards the vineyards from the main road. The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped - only vineyards and olive orchard. The pool has a wonderful view of the surrounding Tuscany. My daughter who loves swimming enjoyed a super pool. We were pleased with the rich breakfast and a large portion of dinner. If I have noticed any shortcomings, it is not worth saying. As a gift we even got a bottle of wine. The manager has always been nice and smiling, a very pleasant person. As well as the receptionist and other staff in the restaurant. We enjoyed the stay.

Incredible. I am speechless with the hospitality, the staff and the property itself. I’ll start with the property, so beautiful, peaceful and truly worth every penny. To give a background, our first night there I was feeling sick and the property immediately did everything and anything to help us. They delivered food from the restaurant to our room (incredible food), came up and down the stairs frequently to check on us and even called the managers private doctor later at night to make sure I was okay. I cannot believe the kindness of every single staff member.

Beyond that, the breakfast was incredible and they have a huge variety it’s amazing. It was so peaceful to wake up to. Also the location is close to Montepulciano and pienza and the property can give great reccs. They also set up horseback riding for us. 12/10 experience.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Room was lovely. Pristine cleanliness. The grounds gorgeous. The infinity pool was lovely. The wine (red & rose) very pleasant to drink. The food typically Italian and yummy. I gave it 5 stars because I was very, very unwell (nothing to do with the hotel) Gabriella the receptionist was so helpful making phone calls and directing towards the right help.

I absolutely adored this hotel. The grounds were so amazingly beautiful with an abundance of lavender, roses & cypress and olive trees. As soon as you step outside you are struck with these beautiful aromatics. The infinity pool was my favorite and I spent many hours there- I enjoyed waking up early and having it to myself as well as taking a dip after visiting the many nearby hilltop, medieval villages. The staff, including Paulo and Lucca, were top notch. The food was very yummy as well. We had a fish tasting menu one evening and it was delicious, artistically presented and quite affordable.

The rooms are spacious with lovely bathrooms. My only complaint is of the beds, they bounced! You could feel every move your partner made. My husband actually slept on the couch one night for fear he would wake me with his turning.

Beautiful hotel in the countryside. Staff was amazing and the room was fantastic. Great location, not far from Montepulciano. We ate dinner there and the food was great. I can't wait to visit again.

I disagree with any negative reviews of this hotel... Poggio Piglia is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and the service is unforgettable! We stayed here in September 2018 and can’t wait to return again in the future. The bedrooms and bathrooms are updated, modern, and comfortable! Towels are plush. Toiletries are high quality. We stayed in room 1 right by the kitchen and it was so quiet, dark, and comfortable that we slept hard every night and required an alarm to wake up before 10 each morning to avoid missing breakfast. It was the best sleep we have had in a long time! The grounds are beautiful- we spent a lot of time both during the day and in the evenings by the infinity pool overlooking the Tuscan countryside... this was my favorite place. We took a wine tour and tasting on our last day, took a cooking class with the chef Giordano (which was unforgettable and worth every euro), and loved getting to know the other guests staying at the hotel. This hotel is small- only 11 rooms- and staff is consistent. We got to know the chefs, servers, winemaker, and front desk staff very well during our stay and they started to learn our likes and dislikes which helped them provide excellent service. Breakfast here was the best we had in all of Italy and everything was fresh and made with local food products. Just over $700 or 600€ for a 4-5 night stay was not bad for what we experienced at Poggio Piglia, especially considering the cost of hotels in larger cities in Tuscany. The only downside to this hotel/location is it is a bit far from most of the big wine regions in Tuscany... 1 hour from Chianti and Montelcino, 30 minutes from Montepulciano. However we arranged a driver for a day to take us on a private wine tour and this solved that problem.

If you visit here say hello to Valentina (server), Giordano (young chef), and the winemaker who also runs the front desk! We loved Hotel Poggio Piglia!

We stayed at Poggio Pigla for 3 nights and have to call out the amazing customer service.
After loosing our suitcases the team here went above and beyond to help with getting us settled and sorted.
We then took a cooking course here and the chef and matridie were so attentive and engaging - had so much fun !!
10/10 and would recommend to all traveler’s

This place is incredible! The setting is stunning through out the day from sunrise to sunset. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful, nothing seems like it’s too much to ask. Food was excellent and decent value for money.

Will definitely be back!!
