Cantine Antonio Caggiano

Wowwww wow wow!!! This is a castle, museum and best winery in Campagnia region for sure. When you arrive inside you are amazed with design and beauty! When you proceed dowstairs you are thrilled with wine culture, exibits, family memories and history… when you enter the Cellar, it’s more like cathedral with plenty of its own history, its own soul and memory. We were simply amazed by the tour, winery, details and so sweet welcome!
The wines here are really the best from the region! If you decide where to go in Campagnia, do not waste your time, simply book in advace and come to Caggiano!!! This family winery is definitely the king here!!
We have visited different ones in the area, however none could compete with wine quality, spectacular cellar, beautiful atmosphere.

Amazing wines and really unique vinery. It is one of the biggest cantina I visited in Italy. It's like a museum. A great guide to visit all the place.

The winery is spectacular and looks like a kind of museum (it’s composed of an old and new part) and so the guide Angelo, who enriched the visit with historical details and details about the wine production.

Definitely five stars for this winery. We had the most delicious dinner here with at least 4 different kinds of wine and what seemed like 20 courses. So much good food we had trouble finishing it. Loved it!!

Very nice tour of the winery by Antonio's son. Its a must if you are in that area.It was an amazing tour. Wine is excellent. The place is very pleasant.

What a wonderful visit --- I called an hour before my intended arrival, and they made sure someone was there to give me a tour of the magnificent cellar (built after 1980's earthquake, from stone and brick of the nearby area). The wines are dynamite, with a signature balance and elegance in both white and red. The award-winning single-vineyard Taurasi Vigna Macchia dei Goti is drop-dead gorgeous. Prices at the winery are very good, so if you can, stock up!

We've been here twice with USO tours guided by Aldo and loved both experiences. Antonio (owner) always shows up for photos and to sign the wine bottles/boxes. The Falangina and Becher are wonderful whites and the Taurasi is amazing (closer to Cab-Sauv). We will not forget our time in Italy, savoring the locally grown, freshly cooked lunches (american sized dinners) at their agritourismo in their their shaded outdoor patio and indoor tables (mere steps from the beautiful cantina).

Antonio, Giuseppe, and the entire staff are very friendly. We have came here 4 times and this is where we bring any visitors from the states. I can't day enough good things about this place. Our favorite winery in Italy.

Wine is fantastic

Cantina davvero bella! Seppur “recente” (risale a 30 anni fa) non ha niente da invidiare alle cantine più vetuste! Il signor Antonio è un vero artista, la sua creatività si respira in ogni angolo della cantina ed è questo che rende il posto davvero “magico” e interessante (oltre la bontà del vino).
Angelo ci ha guidato lungo il percorso con grande simpatia e preparazione, e durante la degustazione era sempre pronto a riempirci il calice! Grande Angelo!
Il pranzo con degustazione dei vini è stato davvero ottimo. Camerieri sempre gentili. Il prezzo è ottimo per tutto quello che abbiamo mangiato e bevuto! Molto soddisfatti.

Ottima cantina! Molto bella la visita guidata. Superlativo il menù degustazione: a ogni portata è abbinato un vino della cantina. Porzioni abbondanti e pietanze ottime

D’estate o d’inverno è un luogo magico, pieno di storia e tradizione. Il percorso inizia con la visita guidata nelle antiche cantine di famiglia, un vero e proprio museo di oggetti legati alla vinificazione di periodi e luoghi vicini e lontani. In un ambiente è stato ricreato un altare dove è possibile, su richiesta, “celebrare” un matrimonio. Tutti gli arredi e i decori sono stati creati riciclando le botti e le bottiglie che non possono più essere utilizzate.
Il pranzo viene servito nell’agriturismo annesso. Le pietanze sono preparate con le materie prime che la stagione mette a disposizione e sono accompagnare dalla degustazione, in abbinamento, dei vini da loro prodotti. Tra una pietanza e l’altra, se il tempo lo permette, è d’obbligo la passeggiata tra i vigneti. Ci si torna di sicuro!! 🤗

... con il treno storico Irpinia Express del 2/7/2023 siamo stati a Taurasi e non poteva mancare una visita alle Cantine Caggiano. Luogo scavato nel sottosuolo e dove sono stati riutilizzati materiali non più usati. Visita interessantissima e molto bella, con l'accompagnatore estremamente competente e molto simpatico. Siamo stati a pranzo nel vicino Agriturismo, sempre della famiglia Caggiano, dove abbiamo mangiato in maniera eccezionale, in un contesto di ulivi e vigne. Non ci siamo potuti trattenere oltre le 16.30 perchè dovevamo rientrare alla staz. di Taurasi. Ma ritorneremo con mezzi propri per goderci questo magnifico luogo.

Una bellissima esperienza in un museo del vino, piuttosto che una semplice cantina.

Alla fine del tour, ci siamo accomodati in un bellissimo casolare rustico dove abbiamo potuto gustare assaggi delle specialità locali, e i loro buonissimi vini.
Consiglio assolutamente di andarci.
