Absolutely recommended. The quality of the ingredient and the mastery of the chef in making the most out of them is worthy of a starred restaurant. Very professional and friendly service. They also have a highly curated wine card.

Incredible. My family and I (mum, dad and 20 year old daughters) went for dinner after seeing good reviews, and let me tell you the reviews are right. Absolutely lovely staff, with the main guy just being so passionate and knowledgeable about the food/wine they serve. He was able to lean us towards certain dishes, which were deffo the correct choices! We got 1 starter, 4 mains, 4 deserts and 1 bottle of wine and it came out as €220 (£55 each) which for the quality I would say is worth it!! Stand out dishes - Tuna Cheek for starter was sooo beautiful, so tender and flavorful. The red snapper ravioli, so yummy! And the amber jack was just wow. For desert we tried all 4 one each! Each had lovely elements and were overall great, but would highlight the aubergine tarte tatin and the think pink!! Also the wine we had was lovely, they had an extensive wine list that would not disappoint! Would 1000% love to go back if we could!

Lovely place! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable and accommodating staff - delicious food and great wine selection.
Didn’t have a chance to book in advance and the maître found us a spot, the last table in the alley, which was not a problem. Kind of charming and away from the main street tourist bustle.
They brought out a delicious complementary croquette, which was a nice surprise, then a local Syrah, which was very good.
We ordered a delicious tuna starter, which was like a California roll but with great flavors and the tuna was outstandingly fresh.
I had a filet mignon with potatoes for a main, which was done to perfection.

Price is very reasonable, perhaps high for Favignana but totally reasonable for any other city.

10/10 will come again, well done.

Chef/owner Francesco is a real talent. The food is outstanding and the place is gorgeous. High quality ingredients sourced locally and dishes very well thought. Sicilian traditions on steroids :) The staff was on point, great team well trained. Sotto Sale should get a Michelin Star. Order everything on the menu!

We had the 10 course tasting menu wow. Some amazing flavours, textures and quality products. Just two recommendations
1. Having wine pairing with the tasting menu.
2. Less time in-between courses.

Apart from that best meal we had in the whole trip in Sicily.

This was by far the best meal we had in Favignana, if not the best during our week in Sicily. The menu is a combination of modern Italian with Japanese influences, and all the food sourced locally. If you're a foodie you will love it here. Yes, the food is on the pricey side for Sicily, but a meal of the same quality in most other European cities would be far, far more. The staff were also great and very attentive throughout. Just going to Favignana to eat here would be worth the journey!

Wonderful last meal during our stay on the island. Inventive and exciting dishes to switch things up after two weeks in Sicily. Felt a little more elevated with high quality ingredients, very fresh, leaving each dish better than the next !! We could have eaten here five more times it was so good. Get a reservation beforehand !

Great food, each dish is a masterpiece. Expensive, but if you like quality you have to pay for it.

A wonderful fusion of Japanese, South Asian, and Italian cuisine, thoughtfully put together within the overarching Favignana concept. The quality of food and service by staff can be compared with highly competitive top restaurants in London. We had tuna tataki special, spaghetti katsuobushi, amberjack dish, and the Island dessert. We had a great time in Favignana but we would love to come back just for this restaurant. Advance booking is recommended as it seems to get very full. We also had lunch at Osteria by Sotto Sale and likewise their food and service were fantastic. We highly recommend both!

For me this is the best restaurant in Favignana if you are looking for a sophisticate culinary experience. The combination of flavours is very creative and delicious. The food presentation is faultless. A little pricey but totally worth it. The restaurant is very small but full of ambiance. A place for special occasions.

Such a refined dinner. If you had enough of trattorias and classic Italian stuff, they have a respect for food that is unique. Wine list is very good, with some natural wines. I got an amazing recommendation from a very prepared woman from the staff.

We were blown away by the service we received from the moment we walked into Sotto Sale.

Maria was fantastic, an absolute asset to the restaurant and, to be honest, a main reason we’d come back again. She felt like a long lost friend from the moment we sat down, suggesting the best dishes in English for us and recommending exquisite wines that were very reasonably priced (not the top end that she could’ve blindly sold us on).

The Crudo Di Mare starter (assorted sashimi) was deliciously fresh, a Japanese touch that hit the mark. But the mains were absolutely scrumptious. The Fusilloni Gamberi Rossi Crudi (prawn pasta) was exquisite, one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had in my life. I could eat it every day. My husband had the Spaghetti Burro Affumicato (anchovy pasta) which was just as good and again, showcased the island’s seafood.

I honestly can’t thank Maria and her team enough though. She entertained us through dinner but was never intrusive and gave us excellent recommendations. Nothing was too much and we walked away with a three course meal each, a bottle of wine, glass of dessert wine and fantastic service for €60 each!

Maria continued to greet us whenever she saw us on the island and going out of her way to say hello.

I was in this lovely restaurant 10 years ago when they opened it and it still my favourite restaurant in Favignana, tuna katsuobushi spaghetti extremely delicious, the girls working here super classy and kind. Lovely athmosphere! Highly reccomended!

Can't understand how you can rate this fantastic restaurant with 1 star. It's a haut cusine restaurant with daily fresh food. They employee even a fisher man who provide them with fresh catches every morning. The unique industrial restaurant combined with the very friendly staff makes it a great place to eat a nice and delicious dinner in Favignana.
