The Enchanted Castle

Strange place! You will see how one's madness gives birth to wonderful things. Hundreds of stone faces look at you from everywhere! It's a bit hard to find, but it will surprise you.

'interesting' is a good way to describe what you feel. The ticket is 6 euro.

An open air museum; one of a kind. Its incredible how the artist managed to carve out stone to create these faces and caves. It's not well sign posted or promoted either, however, we found it easily with google maps.

Fascinating place which cannot be compared to any museum or other "arty" location. Go there when it's quiet. You enter a magical world of a self taught sculptor who created around 3000 heads in stone and some in tree trunks. Apparently he suffered some head injuries in a fight in the US (+ brain damage?) and upon return to Sciaccia lived a secluded life, creating his own world and refusing to sell any of his works.

To see the the beauty of stones and the imagination Mr Bentivegna put into his outsider art put us in another place for the time while there. You forget about what's going on and take in the quietness and passion of his garden. Some might have made fun of his talent but he saw something that no person could model for.

Enchanted unique place, you can't miss it!

This was without a doubt one of the strangest yet "enchanting" things I have seen. The story behind it is just as interesting as you walk past faces cut into stone. Doesn't sound interesting? Don't be fooled and miss it.

Really liked that the artist hasn’t cared about being not recognised and just done what he thought to be the right for the whole of his life!!!

Very interesting and not so typical place to visit

This place is amazing! I didn't know what to expect but found the whole story of Bentivegna and how he had spent much of this life quite fascinating yet chilling. This is a must-see if you're in the area!

The whole trip was worth just for the siccilian night we had here. A day to remember and tell our grandkids about!

This is a great place to visit. Find out about any events they have going after the park closes. Ape Taxi is a good way to get there.

Remarkable story surrounding this most truly "enchanted" site. A must if you are in Sciacca.
