Very tasty! If you love deliciously prepared meat dishes, this is the place for you! Cozy home atmosphere. Very friendly host who told us a lot of interesting things about Tivoli. And a fun cave with a vampire - I 100% recommend visiting this place.

If you want to try something new this is the place! Definitely one of the best things to do in Tivoli. I’ve never had Romanian food before and I’m so pleased I tried it because it was delicious.

Visiting the restaurant itself is an experience, there’s an underground cave, with historic remnants of a mural/ frieze. It’s also been the site of some famous movies. It’s a beautiful building. The decor is great, and the service was amazing. It’s family run, and very friendly. Make sure you try the dessert!

Taverna di Dracula is easy to find. It’s not far from the main square, or from Villa D’Este.

The restaurant is located on a charming, narrow street in Tivoli and is hard to miss as it catches everyone's eye. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the owner greeted us with a smile and good cheer. The interior features traditional Romanian decor and, of course, as the name suggests, with Dracula-themed decorations.

The food is traditional Romanian, but most importantly, it is tasty, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The portions were generous and served quickly.

The owner, a very friendly man, served us personally and even offered us a glass of palinka on the house.

We left happier than when we arrived, thanks to the owner's hospitality and perhaps a bit from the drink :)). Rested and with full stomachs, we continued our walk through beautiful Tivoli. We will definitely return and highly recommend the restaurant.

The Taverna Di Dracula is delicious! It's a great dinner spot while you're in Tivoli. Make sure to get the bread and baba ghanoush, we could eat it everyday. The owner is delightful and a huge fan of Villa de Gregoria.

We just had a lovely dinner. We wanted a break from pizza and pasta and this place was a great find and different, and the owner was very friendly offering a very tailored service (shots included) We weren’t very hungry so a starter and a main did the trick with good quality for the price.
Recommended to try something different in your stay in Tivoli

Absolutely an amazing experience: like traveling to a little Romania pocketed in a quaint Italian village. The cave was cool and the food was made with care and passion. The owner was absolutely a delight. He was so excited to share his culture with my group, and he kept bringing us unexpected treats like delicious bread, Romanian digestive liquor, homemade sour cherry alcohol, and plates of fresh cherries. He shared with us stories of his culture, and played a video of Romanian life on the restaurant TV. Everyone was smiling and laughing and having a great time. The owner has quite the life story too—just ask him about it and he will tell you such interesting things. If you’re in Tivoli, set aside time to visit this place! (Don’t skimp on time though, as the food is cooked to order, and the experience is more than just eating and dashing).

This was our choice when visiting Tivoli for having lunch. We went there on a really rainy day so we were really lucky that the place wasn't really crowded. This was an excellent choice for our family. The service was exceptional and the food was really good. We bought one of the most delicious bottle of white wine we tried during our visit to Italy. Don't expect to come here to try Italian Cuisine . This is mainly Romanian food and to be honest we needed a break from the pasta. 100% recommended, we will definitely come back if we visit Rome again.

My husband and I came here back in May, and I couldn’t have been more happy choosing this place. Trust me, there’s nothing wrong with eating Romanian food in Italy. The cabbage rolls were so good that I got them twice in the same sitting. The server/host was so good to us, he answered all our questions, and went above and beyond to have us try knew things from behind the bar. I wish we would’ve been in Tivoli for longer than a day so we could’ve eaten here a couple times. That pic isn’t the best, but the flavors were delectable.

Went out of my way to find this place was very glad that I did! Michael, the co-owner with his wife, was very welcoming and friendly, the food was excellent with highly original dishes not likely to found in many a tourist town. The taverna's atmosphere is highly entertaining and photogenic...a true underground cave complete with coffin and the entombed Dracula. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stopped here in the afternoon before catching our train and the owner was so very welcoming. We had delicious cocktails, Romanian bruschetta and decided to try a tasty dessert. We felt so welcomed and had great conversation. He even played a video for us about Romania. We will definitely be back in the future for a full meal. If you're in Tivoli - you need to stop here!

In an endless sea of Italian restaurants lies this gem of a Romanian restaurant. The owner is truly passionate about Romanian culture and food and is more than willing to share that with you. Many items are made fresh from the kitchen requiring some time to make. But all in all, a truly unique experience.

What an amazing place, I had arrived early not knowing what time food starts, and Michael (Mihai if i have wrote it right) the owner kindly let me order. Told me about all the unique spots to see. And also taught me the traditions of the evening meal, and let me sample a lovely plum spirit aperitif, the food is stunning and he kindly gave me the after meal brandy to sip. His wife cooks all the meals and she puts her heart and soul into it. Delicious, succulent and full of flavour. As an added bonus, there are rooms carved into the mountain that snakes around with different dining areas. If it wasn't the case of I had to rush for my train I would of stayed a lot longer, but I will deffo be back. Thank you for a very memorable experience.

Take a break from the pizza and Carbonara!!!

If you are looking for a great meal in a great location with great service, look no further! The food is here is fantastic! I had an appetizer of polenta, sour cream, goat cheese (if I remember correctly) and a fried egg on top. It was great! Dinner was cabbage rolls with duck and finished with homemade cake. The only thing better than the food was the owner. Very nice and ingratiating. Fully explained the entire menu in order to help me get the best meal. Everything is cooked fresh as you order. Some items so fresh that you will have to wait for 30+ minutes to have it served. I say that as a compliment!

If all of that isn’t enough, it’s a neat building also. All Dracula themed as an homage to the Romanian roots of the owners. The cave is a must see.

Excellent (Romanian) food mainly for meat lovers, but also with a wide offer of salads, soups and slow cooked dishes.
Welcoming, service and customer focus are beyond usual standards.

Ingredients are genuinely Romanian or purely home-made.

It is a socially responsible venue. These people are also a model in terms of giving back to society. During the lockdown, they offered free lunch for needy people.

The 3 words to name this place are:
- welcoming
- generous
- high standard professionalism

Having lunch or dinner at Taverna di Dracula is a cultural journey which is worth the time and the money.

Great food and service, excellent wine. Expect to get drunk with the typical Romanian alcohol. The cave is authentic and you can visit before your meal. One of the better restaurant visits on our trip.

A MUST SEE WHEN IN TIVOLI! It is an absolute gem of a place with the best Romanian food and atmosphere. If you want to try something you've never had before, this is the place! Excellent food and even better service. We tried the Sarmale, the Shepherds Plate, and the Romanian Street food (sausage). They even have a drink called Draculas blood (which was AMAZING). Everything was out of this world! Do yourself a favor and stop in for food or just the experience - you won't regret it!

Amazing bar with a unique concept. My friend and I came later than my other friends, but we were welcomed by the owner and told to check out any of the wines. My friends tried to push me to get a rosé, but I was not super fond of it, so I ended up getting one of their medium bodied reds that were super smooth and so easy on my pallet. I had a glass of that and ordered some of their frites. While waiting I checked out the "dungeon" which was super cool and unique! I found out from the owner that they are one of two or three Romanian bars in Italy and they are ranked number two. Without a friend I wouldve never known about this spot. Because we were the only patrons in there the owner chated with us and made us feel super welcome! Definitely recommend this spot as a great and unique place to check out while in Tivoli--you will not find anything else like this!!
