Best place to stay in Scala. Federica and Clara are just amazing. Free parking available, best views and swimming pool.
Very reasonable prices for the rooms. Easy access to Ravelo, just walking distance and bus stop to Amalfi. Moreover, there are no mosquitoes at night time, mountains and it was a little bit chilly.
Breakfast was also very good, fresh ingredients and nice cappuccino.

These are two seperate hotels but run by the same family. We stayed in Villa Giuseppina (the one with the pool). Scala is a great little town with excellent restaurants/cafe in the square, good local supermarket and bus service. The staff were super nice and helpful. The room was clean and pleasant with a balcony. The room would definitely benefit from having a kettle for tea/coffee but nevertheless had a good fridge. The rate included a buffet breakfast which was more than adequate. The hotel offered free off-street parking which on the coast is a must if you're going to use a rental car! It also has the best view of Ravello! Despite having a car, we walked to all the main towns including Amalfi, Atrani and Ravello. Would definitely recommend taking walking poles as they save the knees up and down! The pool was very clean and a bonus to cool off after the walking. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 4 days. The service was amazing, the staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is simple but fulfilling. The rooms are well taken care of. And the best of all.. The views.

the hotel area was very nice aroud the small village of la scala. Driving in the amalfi area was not easy we ended up using the bus which stop is a few handred meter away from the hotel. the bus timing was not alawys accurate but we still preferred it to driving. overall a good choice to spend few days in Amalfi area.

This place is great, I will come back! Rooms are not updated, no kettle coffe or tea available, although the service and location make it up for it. Continental Breakfast is served and the croissants are lovely. The swimming pool is really enjoyable and Francesca at the front desk is lovely, not to mention the owner whom is actively engaging with guests making them feel home. I loved my stay here!

My partner and I stayed here last week whilst attending a wedding in Ravello. The hotel has a very traditional European feel, with fantastic service. All the members of team were incredibly accommodating which we were grateful for especially when arriving late at night on Day 1 and getting back late at night on the night of the wedding.

The hotel itself is in a peaceful spot around 20 min walk from Ravello, and Scala is quite quiet. The pool area is nice and clean, and has stunning views of the view over the valley and down to the coast. The team on the front desk arranged taxis for us which cost around (35EUR to go to Ravello). Easiest way to get around is the local bus from the main square in Scala.

Because we had some early starts we couldn't enjoy breakfast everyday but when we did we were greeted each time by a lovely team, great coffee and a good selection of continental breakfast items which set us up for the day. Again, the views overlooking the valley from the breakfast terrace were amazing!

The room itself is in keeping with the traditional style of the hotel, a little dated, but had all the facilities you need including AC and a mini fridge. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and valley with table and chairs. Great for sitting out for a pre-dinner Prosecco.

Would definitely stay hear again! Thanks to the team at Villa Giuseppina for making our stay enjoyable!

Booked this place mainly for the pool. After my arrival, there were many more reasons why this was a great hotel.

Not to get confused with the booking name, this is one hotel, two buildings.

I stayed at the La Margherita, which is a more vintage european look.

This place had many great common spaces which were under utilized most of the time.

Most rooms face the valley and give a gorgeous view over Ravello (which normally people pay big bucks to see).

In the Villa Giuseppina, you will find the beautiful pool area. They do serve snacks and drinks. They were not the best in Italy and not the cheapest (compared to the square nearby) but you pay for convenience and still very affordable.

Breakfast is served each morning 8am to 10am. There is not a huge variety but it is still decent and delicious. You will eat again with the spectacular view over the valley.

Ravello is really not far and can be an easy 20 min walk. And there is also a public square nearby that surprisingly comes alive all night.

The rooms, I can't speak for the other rooms, but I had the one with a single bed. The size didn't bother me much except for the bathroom. But even then, it's better to have a private one than sharing. My room did not have AC and some of the others one did. But, even then, this did not bother, since with the patio doors open the valley breeze came in well.

Laundry service on site.

The biggest down side which is not the hotel's fault at all, is to know this place is located high and very hard to reach.

If you plan to visit the Amalfi Coast towns, expect either over 1 hour and 40 min hikes down or the bus that barely comes or takes over 1 hour 40 as well. Or pay around 80 euro taxis each way.

Pro tip for taxis, try to split the fare by sharing a ride with others.

You can rent a scooter to make your way down from the square.

There are multiple paths to hike down. They are super beautiful and stunning at times. Be careful and stay vigilant while you do. I hiked all 3 days and my feet paid the price. Always have water on you and stay hydrated as well as wearing comfortable shoes.

The way up, try to ride share.

But if you are staying in the valley, then you won't have any issues .

Enjoy your stay in Scala.

*please pay attention: the review is only for this hotel not the La Margherita-Villa Giuseppina.*
Both hotels belong to a same complex but they are apart from each other with a down-uphill road between. The pool is in front of the Villa Giuseppina. So if you are staying at La Margherita, you have to walk to the pool.

The staff is very friendly and helping. The rooms in which we stayed were freshly renovated. Clean and comfortable. The breakfast was served in the restaurant. It was really authentic and fresh. We really enjoyed it. No lunch or dinner is served in this hotel. If you want to have dinner or lunch you have to go the Villa Giuseppina, or other restaurants around. The rooms were cleaned everyday perfectly. The only downside was the extremely weak Internet. They have a balcony with extremely beautiful view where you can sit and enjoy the view anytime. Over all, an amazing stay.

Great experience at Villa Giuseppina! Magnificent view and so nice to have the pool to relax during the day.
Francesca at the reception was so helpful with helping me for organizing transportation.
Defiantly coming back next time!

The villa is situated in a remarkable location, with spactacular view and very close to Ravello. Public transportation to Amalfi is very convinuent so you don't need to worry about where to park your car. The room was a bit small, but still very clean and with a nice view. The only thing I would improve is the shower which was small and with poor water flow, but that was really the only thing. Pool is marvellous and eating breakfast on the main balcony is a unique experience. Would definitely come back!

The views are incredible from the pool, bar, terrace. We had a room with a balcony which shared the same amazing views.

The staff were so accommodating and friendly. Service with a smile whenever we interacted.

Our room was clean and the aircon worked perfectly.

The hotel is in Scala, the last stop on the local Amalfi bus (cheap and handy) which shuttles between Amalfi, Rovello and Scala. There is more to do in Amalfi and Rovello but there’s a bar, few restaurants and a supermarket in Scala. The walk to Rovello is only 20 minutes as well.

This was hands down the best stay I've ever had. Cecilia and her family treat you like family and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. I lost my phone and Cecilia worked tirelessly to see if anyone could find it down in the Amalfi area. She even gave me a phone to use for the remainder of my stay. The family is very welcoming and the hotel is very clean and majestic with the beautiful Amalfi Coast views. Can't wait to come back here one day!

Beautiful hotel lovely atmosphere and truly friendly staff. Like being welcomed into their own home. Please note that at the moment the restaurant and bar are closed due to the hotel being covid safe. But lots of good restaurants nearby that the hotel are more than happy to make reservations for you.

This is my first time traveling without having booked any accommodations ahead of time. I drove with my partner from Puglia to the coast and wasn’t sure where we would end up. We searched online and weren’t really familiar with the area or how far it would be from Amalfi. Little did I know, the least expensive option would be the best choice ever.
First, I want to give huge praise to the staff- especially my new bestie CARLA! She welcomed us to the hotel as if we were old friends. She told us everything we needed to know about getting around from town-to-town, the property itself, local places to eat and drink, about the fireworks that would take place, etc. All of the staff were incredibly gracious and helpful.
The property has parking, a swimming pool (which we didn’t end up using), and breathtaking views of Amalfi just below. We had a car but kept it parked and just took a shuttle down to Amalfi every day. From there you can take a boat everywhere you want to go.
Turns out, out hotel was a perfect place to retire at night from a long day of tourism, eating, drinking and taking the sun on the beach. It was located in a way less crowded town was quite charming.
Plenty of little shops around for food and drinks, groceries, a pharmacy, etc.
One day we took the 2,000 stairs up the mountain from Amalfi which was absolutely gorgeous and spectacular exercise.
If you’re looking for a place to stay- this is the one. Ask for Carla, she will set you up!!!
We look forward to returning to the area in the future and will definitely be staying at La Margherite. Thank you!! And than you, Carla for making our stay so memorable!

What an amazing place. The staff is the sweetest I have ever met. The place made me feel at home away from home. It’s local, we have a stunning view over Ravello. Breakfast was vert good. I loved everything and hope to come back one day! Thank you for everything :)

I have just returned from a week stay at Viilla Guiseppina with my mum two days ago and we had a fantastic time. The hotel is spotless and the rooms very nice and cleaned everyday. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and they are happy to do anything to make you feel at home during your stay. We ate at the hotel most days and evenings and we loved all of the food.

Staff on reception Francesca and Carla are extremely helpful and welcoming and are happy to help you with any requests. Staff at the restaurant are also amazing particularly Carla who was also very helpful and welcoming to us during our stay. We also found the owner Enzo and his wife and family to be very warm and welcoming and they make you feel very at home plus Enzo was very encouraging when we were trying to learn Italian during our stay. We would have loved to have been staying longer and would highly recommend it.

Our driver took us here for a meal on the upper terrace restaurant and to enjoy the views overlooking Ravello. Family run, friendly service, good food and fantastic views - fair value to!
