Osteria Il bagatto

Living in Sicily we can eat fish every day, Milazzo has fantastic fish restaurants but, if you fancy something different, try Il Bagatto.....
The ambient is warm and welcoming with soft jazz in the background but soft enough to enable conversation, there are stools at the bar which I chosen as dining alone.
The staff are young, professional and friendly.
I was in town and had heard good things so I decided to see for myself.
The menu is ample and eclectic, I opted for the duck Foie Gras with plum sauce and plum pain d'epices.....the portion was just right served with wafer thin melba toast and the pain d'epices served lightly toasted was the best I have eaten outside of France.
For my main I had the Leg of duck in grain mustard sauce with a jacket potato.....delicious with plenty of sauce to mash into the potato.
A Colosi Salina bianco was a good choice as wine and a Montenegro as digestivo......
All in all a place I will visit again if I get the chance.

And I did, two days on the trot must mean it's good....

Potato and truffle torte followed by the most tender veal cheek ever... #JayRayner needs to try this place.

After our boat excursion, we decided to check out the restaurant. It had a captivating charm and a delightful ambiance. After making a reservation and coming back, it lived up to our expectations. The cuisine was truly delectable and elegantly presented. The variety of wines available was impressive as well. The youthful and welcoming staff were adeptly trained. It's a place where you can enjoy a delightful time – I highly recommend it.

A beautiful restaurant well decorated and exquisite food. I enjoyed the beef tartare and carbonara pasta, both perfect! The staff here were so friendly too, we had just got back from a boat trip from Stromboli island so arrived very late and they welcomed us even though it was close to the closing time. Very kind and attentive people.

We had 2 wonderful evenings in this lovely restaurant! The food is of an outstanding quality! The staff was very nice and made us feel comfortable all the time. I recommend this place for all people staying in Milazzo!!! We will come again soon

Very nice place. Amazing wine list. Charming tables

This is my second review ever of a restaurant - I love eating but I rarely (unfortunately) take the time to review. We had an absolutely spectacular meal here. Every dish was better than the last, a steak au poivre to rival any in Paris’, and Chiara the owner was so gracious to spend time talking with us about Sicily, Puglia and her restaurant’s history. We are working out how to modify our trip to come back.

Excellent meal and service, so happy to find a restaurant that does more than fish dishes! We had fillet steak and carbonara, both lovely and well cooked. Was great to deal with helpful happy staff who were more than accommodating when it came to helping us understand the menu.

Fantastic taste and execution, from something as simple as the Bacala steamed to all sorts of meat dishes and pasta e.g. fresh tomato pasta with burrata and aubergine mousse... delicious! Totally recommended.

The best restaurant in Milazzo, the waiter are super Nice and its fast. The food is amazing and not expensive !

Delicious food paired with a kind and helpful waiter. To finish it off it also had a nice Atmosphere.

Excellent food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere! The gnocchi and the filet in mustard sauce were delicious!

It’s not a five but it’s really, so it deserves a better pontuation then 4,2. They have truffles!

Un'ottima osteria nel cuore di Milazzo in cui mangiare ottime pietanze tutte ispirate al territorio. La location è molto curata, intima e nello stesso tempo con tanti dettagli di grande pregio. Sui tavoli spesso si trovano le verdure o gli stessi prodotti dell'orto che vengono usati nelle pietanze proposte. In cucina Chiara si destreggia fra piatti, molti dei quali a base di carne tutta proveniente fra Nebrodi e Peloritani. Tutto il personale è molto cordiale e di buona professionalità. I piatti sono molto ben curati e rispettano la stagionalità. Ottimi i primi con una cura nella scelta della pasta che è sempre di primissimo livello. Nei secondi la carne è sempre ottimamente cucinata e succulenta. Particolarmente accurata la cantina con un'amplissima scelta di vini, alcuni dei quali di grande pregio.

Dopo una lunga giornata di navigazione, premiata dalle spettacolari eruzioni del vulcano Stromboli, quello che ci serviva era farci coccolare seduti comodamente ad un tavolo, davanti ad un buon vino eh a dei piatti squisiti, con dei preziosi consigli di Gabriele preparatissimo sulla conoscenza dei vini e alla simpatia di Alessandro, in un atmosfera intima e rilassante.
Se vi capita di passare a Milazzo dovete assolutamente assaggiare sia i piatti che i numerosi vini di questo ristorante 👍

Wir sind zufällig auf diese hervorragende und authentische Osteria gestoßen nachdem wir an einem Samstag Abend sonst nirgends einen Tisch bekamen - Gott sei Dank! Schon alleine der sehr freundlich entspannte und kompetente Service war ein Erlebnis. Begonnen bei der Carbonara mit krosser Guanciale über die äußerst aromatische Millefoglie von Melanzane mit Ricotta bis hin zu den Secondi bestehend aus Schweine- oder Rinderfilet jeweils auf den Punkt gegart haben auch die Speisen restlos überzeugt. Die Weinempfehlung ein fruchtiger trockener Weisser aus der Umgebung war mehr als stimmig. Herzlichen Dank und weiter viel Erfolg mit dem herrlichen Restaurant.

Un posto incredibile, cucina come forme d amore e passione. Un ristorante che offre la possibilità di gustare carne di ottima qualità e preparata in modo impeccabile. La proprietaria fa della sua cucina pura poesia e ogni volta che capito a milazzo è un rito e un piacere mangiare al Bagatto.
