Osteria del Buchetto

Loved this small osteria from the moment we entered. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Our hostess in Spello made the reservation for us. Massimo greeted us warmly as I stumbled through my very bad Italian. There is no rush here to turn over tables. We enjoyed a lovely meal at a leisurely pace. We started off with a litre of the house red wine. My husband and I both had the lentil soup -- lentils from Lake Trasimeno region. Hot and delicious. My husband had the Tagliata di Manzo with arrugala. I had the Papparadelle al Ragu Rosso Umbro -- Both were outstanding. By far one of our favorite meals in Spello.

Polite and helpful service, tasty food (especially tagliatelle al tartufo and gnocchi, strozzapreti not so much). Also the view was breathtaking :)

My wife and I enjoyed every aspect of Osteria del Buchetto and could not recommend it more highly! We ate on the terrace overlooking the Umbrian hills and watching a stunning sunset. Not only was the view beautiful, but so was the setting itself. The restaurant is located at the very top of Spello in a quiet location away from the rest of the city. We listened to the birds sing as the sun set over the hills.

While the view was INCREDIBLE the food was even better! We could not decide on just 2 pastas so ended up ordering three. Each one was more delicious than the next. The pasta was some of the freshest we had in all of Italy as were the sauces they came with. The flavors of each ingredient were distinct and fresh, but paired well enough with each other so they complimented one another and were never overpowering. We savored every bite of each dish!

The service was wonderful. We do not speak italian but the servers made us feel welcome and special non-the-less. We spent over 2 hours eating and drinking wine and never felt rushed at all. It was like watching a private sunset.

We had the Strangozzi e pepe, Strozzapreti, Tagliatelle al Tartufo, and the Tonnarelli Con Paccasassi E Ciascolo. Each was amazing, but the Tonnarelli Con Paccassai was our favorite! It was so different and tasted like nothing we had tried before in a pasta. The Truffles in the Tagliatelle were also so fresh and not overpowering we loved them! And of course, the Cacio e pepe was perfect!

We were surprised not to find a terrace at this restaurant but it was cool out of the heat anyway. We ate very well, every dish we had was delicious. And the staff/owner/manager very friendly and knowledgeable.

The best food and most amazing service with the absolutely most amazing view of the sunset!

One of the best meals so far in Italy

Siamo stati ieri attirati dalle recensioni positive e non posso far altro che confermarle. Piccolino ma curato nei dettagli, personale gentile, il titolare top. Cibo porzioni giuste e molto molto buone, mio figlio ha mangiato la sua prima tagliata e l’ha divorata(tenerissima). Sia i primi che i dolci buonissimi. Conto giusto per quello ordinato. Se passeremo ancora da Spello sarà una tappa obbligata. Lo consiglio vivamente!

Restauracja z pięknie położonym tarasem z którego widok o zachodzie słońca sprawia że kolacja w takim miejscu to bardzo przyjemne doznanie.
Jedzenie jest pyszne i bardzo ładnie podane . Wszystko nam smakowało , od świetnego pecorino z truflami na przystawkę , przez pyszną tagliatę z plastrem słoniny po świetne desery. Właściciel to przemiły człowiek który sprawia że chce się tam wracać.

Cena top! Lo staff è stato molto ospitale, gentile e disponibile a consigliare il meglio della cucina locale. Ci torneremo presto, consigliamo questa osteria anche perché tra qualche settimana sarà disponibile anche uno spazio esterno su un affaccio mozzafiato da cui godersi un panorama della valle sottostante. Cenato qui piu volte durante le vacanze estive, il posto è fantastico e arieggiato, sulla cima di Spello, se si mangia fuori sulla terrazzina c'è un panorama bellissimo. Prese bruschette alle verdure e porcini, pecorino fuso con tartufo a quantità generosa, fettine di arista con salsa di mela, maiale porchettato, verdure al forno e caponata, piu vino, acqua, coca cola e amaro, tutto squisito e ad un prezzo onesto (29 euro). Buono anche il servizio, staff gentile, sorridente e disponibile. Atmosfera romantica e tranquilla. Insomma siamo stati benissimo, un piccolo gioiello umbro! Consigliatissimo

Me pareció que la comida estaba rica y la ubicación de la terraza era única

Qualità, bontà, gentilezza e simpatia. Arrivati a tarda ora a Spello ci siamo addentrati nei suoi vicoli e quando ci siamo accorti che ormai era già tardi Massimo e il suo staff ci hanno accolto nel loro splendido locale. Complice la calda serata, siamo stati sulla terrazza che offre un panorama incredibile. La cena è di quelle che restano nei ricordi. Abbiamo ordinato senza neanche guardare il menù, cacio e pepe e tagliolini al tartufo, definirli eccellenti è poco. Sopratutto il tartufo utilizzato non era quello scenografico per turisti, anzi ha improfumato l'aria nonostante eravamo all'aperto. Poi una tagliata cotta in maniera perfetta, al sangue come richiesto al momento dell'ordine (sembra scontato ma tanti ristoratori non offrono questa attenzione). Poi si è fatto tardi e diciamo l'orario di chiusura era passato già da un pò. Ringrazio ancora Massimo e il suo personale ( a cui ha chiesto il permesso per far accomodare clienti ritardatari). Eccellenza del territorio, sicuramente tornerò a Spello con qualche scusa anche solo per andare a pranzare ancora Al Buchetto. Arrivando anche ad un orario migliore. Aggiungo anche che il conto è stato una sorpresa per la qualità del servizio offerto nelle località turistiche è difficile trovare ristoratori che ci tengono al loro lavoro piuttosto che spennare i clienti do passaggio. Grazie ancora per la cena e il panorama!!!
