Barone di Villagrande winery

Phenomenal. We had the lunch and wine tasting. The service from start to finish was exceptional - can’t remember our servers name but I think it was Naomi (?). The wines of course were fantastic, we particularly loved the rosato and the malvasia. Could not recommend it enough!

We were here in mid-September and loved our visit at Barone. We scheduled the tasting with small food pairings vs the full 5-course lunch, and the appetizers were fabulous. We are vegetarians, and they happily accommodated our preferences.

The grounds of this winery are gorgeous! The wines were good, but for our taste, they were a little dry. We generally do not drink whites and prefer semi-sweet reds. Overall, not just at this winery, we found the Sicilian wines made from the volcanic soil were generally drier/heavier.

We had a wonderful time, personal, intimate experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Mt. Etna area.

We loved the wine tasting, the accompanying food and staff. The view over the vineyard is spectacular. Our case of wine arrived safely today!

Where good views, good wine and good food combine

Nestled in the foothills of Mount Etna, if you are looking for some peace and quiet with some good wine, then this place is for you. With only a limited number of rooms, it does have an exclusive feel to it, as the rooms are in a building secluded from the winery's main tasting buildings,with an infinity pool that has some spectacular views.

Obviously as an active winery there will be plenty of wine tours popping in throughout the day, however this was never bothersome.

Villegrane Winery is relatively isolated, with the village of Milo just over 1km up the hill, so if you are looking for lunch or dinner alternatives then this will be the nearest option. With that said the tasting menu together with wine pairings is out of this world an excellent value for money. The chef is obviously very talented as well as imaginative as they rotate 4 menus meaning that you need to won't need to leave until day 5.

The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped (including a range of their wines). There is a lounge area with tea and coffee facilities should you wish to make use of them. The breakfast was outstanding and for a nice change a la carte.

It should be noted that Villegrande is run very similar to a B&B with the addition of a restaurant. Therefore do not expect to find a bar or restaurant for lunch.

We came here for a wine tasting and food pairing. The people here were on point! The wines were served at the exact time as the food and they built a.menu specifically for the wine tasting. Everything was absolutely delicious. The view was breath taking and the atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone was super kind and informative. They told us about each wine we tasted and each food as well. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful winery near Mount Etna. If you can go early in the day, you can then drive to Mount Etna right after and take in some spectacular views of the country side. I forgot to take pictures of the remaining food as I ate it out of excitement. Take my word for it....it's delicious and 💯 percent worth it.

Stunning view, magnificent wines and a great tasting menu. Am now very much in doubt if we should’ve bought more than 6 bottles :0 Staff is very kind and helpful. They set us up with an extension cord so we could charge the car because unfortunately all chargers next to the church were offline.

What a scenic, peaceful and soul lifting experience at this beautiful winery resort near Mount Etna! After traveling to Rome, the Amalfi coast and Taormina, we thoroughly enjoyed winding down and relaxing at the beautiful Barone di Villagrande winery and resort for 3 nights. The setting, pool, ambiance and sweeping views of the vineyards are magical and our spacious suite with terrace was perfect! We also enjoyed an excellent food and wine pairing and a custom tailored breakfast each morning. All the staff were wonderful and Alfonso was very helpful in answering emails before our stay and giving hands on assistance on site. If you can't stay here, book a lunch or dinner food pairing. We only stayed for one night, but would love to return in the future. Infinity pool overlooking vineyard with a cold bottle of mount etna rose is unbeatable. Great service.

Delicious wines, spectacular view, and very friendly staff. We got a quick tour of the cellars and then wine tasting with sampling of very good local food pairings which were spot on. We went early and it was a quiet, intimate and beautiful place to spend the morning.

Lovely experience! We called on our way to make sure they had space for us, it was €45 pp for 4 course lunch and wine tasting. Staff super friendly too.

We had a really great dinner there with a tasting. Everyone was so nice, every wine was delicious and unique. The menu is absolutely amazing. Every course was really tasty.

Wonderful experience at Villagrande winery.

Beautiful, relaxing day at the vineyard. Our host was super special and a sweet woman, made us feel welcomed and gave us a lot of great insight into the region, the wines, culture and history. The food and wine pairing was also excellent and as time past we found it difficult to leave... we would go back again if in the area.

What a beautiful place to stay and enjoy the scenary! We stayed here for a night a couple weeks ago and we also tried their wine tasting with food which was outstanding. Highly recommend even if you’re just driving through. The staff were super friendly as well! Hopefully we can come back soon, grazie mille!

We visited on a haunting and chilly fog filled day. The winery was beautiful inside and out. The hosts were engaged and detailed on the winery, it's history, and the local atmosphere. We did have lunch here, and I have to say the olive oil was stellar...we bought some bottles:). Very much recommend this classic winery, you will be happy you visited. Also, say hi to the pup.

A spectacular lunch wine and food pairing experience. The chef certainly out did himself. Every plate was a work of art and perfectly prepared. Our personal tour guide, Maria, explained the history and the lineage of the estate. She was then the server of our wine at the table for lunch. This experience and atmosphere completely exceeded our expectations. The white wines are the hallmark of this vinyard and soil, and what they are most proud of. They deserve to be. The staff made it a delight.

Incredible winery. We took the 5 services dinner and tasting, and the food was on par with the great quality of the wines. Really nice people, really nice place, a must-stop for the wine lovers looking for an experience.
