Be there on time, around 45 minutes before start of the tour. It's worth to enjoy and inhale every minute of this top experience. For sure one of the most exciting impressive adventure ever seen. Well guided by Mirco to the summit of the most dangerous crater. With detailed and enthusiastic explanations made it a unique experience. Simply great!

Took a guided excursion to the summit crater of Etna, as this is the only way to explore highest parts of Etna volcano. No regrets, our guide was a true expert. After we got to 2850 meters above sea level with cable cars and 4x4 buses he gave us a long tour around most interesting places near the summit. Absolutely worth it.

Great tour on mount Etna!
We did the crater tour of 5/6 hours and had a fantastic experience. The tour is very doable and the top of the Etna is fascinating. The guides are super friendly, helpful and speak English well.
Definitely recommend!

Great tour. I wanted to do a walking tour to the top, but due to volcanic activity at the top, we were restricted to 3050m. There was a hold up at the cable car because of the wind and we were delayed by 1.5 hours (I wish I had walked up this part). But once the tour started it was very interesting. The guide was very knowledgeable and handled a large group really well.

Given the late start, the guide didn’t try to rush the tour, showed us some very interesting sites and witnessed some activity at the top. At the end of the tour, he asked if some of us wanted to walk down instead of the bus or the cable car and he walked with those who opted for it. Overall it was a great tour and I wouldn’t have found it so interesting without the guide.

Guide we had was great. Talked a lot about Etna and it's history (in 3 languages).
We were shown few nice places we would never find without guidenence.
Trip is not cheap, but it's worth of it.
Cable cab to 2500m, by car up to 2750 and then by foot around one of Etna's crater and to it's top. Not the main crater but it was quite close to it.
Important, be aware it was not an easy walk. There was snow, so trekking boots required. (Price contain boots rent). Weather was very dynamic, once was sunny and foggy after 1minute. Windy also so good to have something to cover your head.
Summing up, great experience!

Coming here relatively unprepared in equipment they could still offer us a super experience! Very nice tour guides, got shoes and a jacket, a ride in the bus and walked up to 2900 meters high around craters. We were a bit unlucky with the weather and couldn’t take the cable car but obviously that is not in their control. Still a super cool experience!

Grazi!

Definitely worth having a guide. You get closer to the summit, have every question answered you may have of the volcano, and see more things on the mountain that are hidden or tucked away.

While normally I’m a big fan of solo trekking, this is a great way to focus on experiencing the volcano rather than finding your way.

Complimentary hiking boots and helmet provided.

Very professional and well organized. Our guide Pepe was really fun, knowledgable, and he showed us really interesting placed on Etna. The pace of the hike was suitable for everyone.

We were provided also with equipment (jacket, socks, boots) and even got a nice gift at the end. 10/10 would recommend, great value for money!

Worth to go with a excursion because they will take you to places where it's prohibited to go by yourself.
Trekking shoes and long socks are nece6if you want to run down the hill - super fun.

Etna is a must see when you are in Sicily. And these company is the best agent, which will help you in doing this. All the guides are well educated and very friendly and helpful. The duration of an excursion is about 5 hours, it is enough to get acquainted with Etna and its craters.

First off I'd like to say this costs 85 euros, we couldn't find this information on the website anywhere!! For this you get a cable car ticket, a bus ride to within a height of 400m to the summit you climb the rest. They also provide equipment in walking boots, jackets, helmets and a 6 hour guided tour. All you need is water and food.

Secondly this is an active volcano, mini eruptions were happening throughout the hike and the volcano releases a lot of acrid gas, this we were told is not to bad for you but it does burn your lungs so take something to cover your face.

The hike to the summit was fairly straightforward, but for us we took a route off the beaten trails to avoid the gas. The ground is loose so be prepared to scramble up.

If you are really unfit then go to the gym first before doing this. We walked 12k and went up 118 flights of stairs on the tour, it's not a massive day but if you are very unfit something to consider.

Overall the land scape was breathtaking, we went on a clear day and could see the whole of Sicily. From the central created we heard and saw small eruptions of gas/sand. Gas poured from vents all over the creater, leaving incredible sulphur deposits.

The guide was very good talking through Etna's history, all the lava flows and I felt confident in his ability to keep us safe.

All in all a great experience and one I would highly recommend.

We took the €85.00 all include hike to the top. The staff provided trekking polls, boots, socks and jackets at no extra cost. Your guide takes you on the funicular, the bus and then a long, careful hike to the craters and several locations of interest. Our guide Peppe was fantastic. The tour lasted from around 0930 to about 1530. We stopped for lunch on the way but make sure you bring some food and water with you as none is available on the actual hike. Same for the toilet, go before. Definitely the best thing we've done all holiday.

If you’re planning a visit to Mount Etna and you want to reach the summit, these are the guys to hire. They are knowledgeable mountain guides and they provide boots, jackets and backpacks. They have guides that speak English, italiano and french. Call before going to check if the weather is good for the trekking.

Do the guide tour! Worth every penny! Without a guide, your experience would be totally different.
I had a half day hiking with a guide (cable car round & 4x4 jeep) from Nicolsi (through ‘get your guide’) starting from 9:30am and came down around 3pm. Hiking was just amazing.
even thogh I work out on regular basis, hiking on high altitude was quite hard to be honest.
We borrowed hiking shoes, socks and a backpack. Wouldve been better to borrow sticks/poles (you’ll need them downhill- very steep, much harder than uphill)
My parents in their late 60s barely made till the end. But the experience was very extraordinary and we keep talking about it:) our guide was super skillful and took a good care of everyone.

Out tour was canceled by another provider and we decided to go with Etna Alpine Guides Excursions. Nice young lady provided information we paid fair price and well, there were some delays and a little confusion. With a little patience, the tour started at 10:30. The guide was awesome! The tour, not for the faint of heart and demanding decent physical shape. All recommendations should be strictly followed, bring gloves!
We left physically drained, by the hike, the wind, the cold, but we left happy with a sense of accomplishment. It is an experience that we will remember for the rest of our life and highly recommend it.

I would highly recommend booking tours here. The size of the tour group is pleasant, and hiking equipment (boots, wind jacket, socks and backpack) is freely available when joining a tour.

Our guide Michele was very knowledgeable, helpful and considerate. He changed his pace to the needs of the group, took safety seriously, and is clearly very fond of the Etna and its surrounding area.

Excellent hike with a knowledgeable guide. The ticket price included helmets, socks and a backpack if needed. The full hike to 3000 metres is quite strenuous, particularly the last 200 metres.

We enjoyed our guided tour up Etna and the surrounding craters. The guide, Luciano was so informative too.
