I've been here 3 times now and I've managed to see new parts each time. There are plenty of options for different fitness levels - some craters are much easier to walk up than others! It's beautiful in the sun and the snow.
Most people will want to wear something warm because it can be cool and windy at this altitude.

Stunning natural wonder! To stand in a volcano crater is humbling. Not for those who are unstable when walking. Walk on small lava pebbles and need to step over larger rocks. Wear layers to stay warm. Worth taking time to see!!

Even if you don't plan to go all the way to the crater of Etna, just visiting the area is enough to experience the magic and beauty of Etna. There is ample parking and restrooms available. Definitely wear sneakers or hiking boots.

It is an amazing experience being so close to the active volcano. We haven't been to the biggest crater but next to the smaller two. The biggest is the tallest and emits the fumes. We got lucky as it was a sunny day and slight breeze, but they say people should have a spare wind proof jacket. The views in all directions are breathtaking. There are some restaurants and souvenir shops.

It is a very accessible crater if you want to get up close and personal but don't want to scale too high. However, I wouldn't wear a hat as it is very windy and you will need to hold onto it the whole time. It is very close to the main car park therefore it is ideal to explore and then return to go shopping or have a cup of tea. I definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area or at least planning on visiting Etna.

First time near any volcano. This was a brief stop before catches flight back to Serbia/Croatia/Slovenia after a weekend in Agrigento. These craters are impressive in their own right. One day maybe we'll have time to explore further up the mountain.

The place is great, just wow. The tickets are very expensive so if you are up for it, walk because it is beautiful and you need the exercise. 75 e for the ticket.

We first went to the larger crater on the left, on the other side of the Silvestri craters, and then also to the more popular and smaller one, which in my opinion gives better views of the sea and downhill.

If you visit these two and maybe the one near the larger crater, it is plenty, and you don't need to take the gondola to the top.

Etna is a beautiful place and worth the visit, the cable cart is a bit pricey at €78 pp so we did not do it however I understand it keeps getting destroyed when the volcano erupts

Stunning view of the island and of craters. We went on Sunday morning and thankfully found a parking space with no hassle.

Go for the bus/cable car option. Takes you as far up as possible. 78 euros per person. Small walk with an informative guide at the top where you get a great view of the active part of the volcano. Can be very windy/cold so dress appropriately. Avoid the other guides around the parking spot. Their deals are not so great!

A 4x4 morning trip to Etna 2000M elevation. Excellent experience made even better by our very knowledgeable driver. Minimum walking, which suited us. You can arrange a longer trip that includes hiking to the higher elevation. Highly recommended. We were lucky to get perfect clear skies, so the views were magnificent.
We went with ETNA 4x4 jeep tours.

Beautiful windy dangerous uneven earth. Easy to fall. Not good for handicapped or balance problems. Sane with breathing problems. Beautiful panoramic views. Not enough bathrooms for all the visitors. Pay for restrooms. Food and souvenirs area.

Perfect for not sportive people, small kids... near to the parking, nice view, lovely pictures and you can go inside the crater or at the top around it. Free!

We drove from Palermo, maps went a bit off the beaten track, but this way we got to see so much more and it took about 4 & half hours to get to Mt Etna.
What a magnificent mountain, and to think we came about 5 days after it just erupted.
The amount of fine ash everywhere and the molten rock that flows down thru the valley is pretty impressive.
There are three mountains to climb up to, the first Etna u can either walk it, cable car it, or quad bike it. The second and third u can walk them, they're just as impressive and the views are amazing.
At the base u have accommodation, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and people selling all types of honey from the bees that visit Etna and surrounds.
We probably spent around 3 hours there, having something to eat and drink, climb the third mountain, take photos, taste the many different types of honey, and look at the shops.

Easy walk from the parking lot, it takes 10 to 15 minutes to go around the crater.
Everyone can go there no need for special equipment.
The view here is amazing.
If you don't have too much time to spend at the Etna I recommend going there.
