Made a reservation online for lunch a month in advance, as the website advises you to do. Got right to our table when we arrived on time and planned on having a large meal. They didn’t disappoint! Best carbonara I had in Rome, loved the authentic dishes we had, even enjoyed some gnocchi on Thursday! Good wine, good vibes, and a wonderful meal. Definitely recommend coming here if you want a really nice sit down meal in Rome during your vacation.

We had a great experience while on our honeymoon here. We came here for our anniversary dinner. I would suggest getting a reservation if you come at night. They fill up very quickly. When we came, there was indoor seating and outdoor seating inside the tent with the heat lamps. Beautiful views of the Pantheon if you are outside on the street. The employees spoke Italian and English. Excellent service, our waiter constantly check on us. I don’t remember if there was a coperto, the receipt I posted doesn’t show it. They close around 3pm and reopen around 7pm for dinner. Keep that in mind if you are trying to come for a late lunch.

The food was amazing. A lot of great appetizers, pasta and meat to choose from. I’m not a big fan of artichoke, but I really enjoyed it crispy with the fresh mozzarella. I had Carbonara pasta. Loved the sauce. The guanciale that’s in the pasta is now a favorite of mine. Hard to find good carbonara in the states. Will definitely come back here the next time I visit Rome.

We also return back to this restaurant whenever we visit Rome, it’s such a calm place to have a meal in the middle of hectic touristy city. The food is always out of this world (especially the bruschettas with anchovies and their carbonara!). The staff are one of the nicest you can find in Italy. Always recommend!

It was my favorite Dinner in Rome. I had the pasta Carbonara. The best I have ever had in my life. The view was spectacular I was looking at the Pantheon from our outdoor table. The artichoke they had on special was particularly delicious. I highly recommend anybody going to Rome to try and get a table!

Wow! What a wonderful and special experience this was. We had seen this place on the 'Search for Italy' programme with Stanley Tucci - myself and my husband ordered two different pastas to then try both. The carbonara and the Rigatoni all'trimalciana. The food actually made us quite emotional - we have truly never had food like it. Being Italian myself, I wasn't sure what to expect but the flavours of the food was incredible!
The service was amazing and even though they were booked up inside, they got us a table under cover outside and even put the heater back on for us. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Went for lunch right as it opened. It was four of us so we had to be placed on a list but we were fine with that. The pasta takes time to make, the menu outside tells you it’s 30-40 minute wait. Regardless, the food was yummy, the service was so great. Would return, 100%

Amazing food in a very central area, very friendly and helpful service, great wine choices. I tried the bruschetta with stracciatella cheese and anchovies for a starter, and delicious carbonara as mains. Tiramisu also excellent! Totally recommended.

Traditional and classy without being stuffy, Armando has excellent service and food in a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely need to reserve in advance. They have typical Roman dishes as well as a few of their own spins and some items from other regions as well. They have an extensive wine and beverage list, too. They even feature coffee from Sant’ Eustachio (so just have one here at he ends of your meal and avoid the line at the actual cafe) and a gelato sampling from Giolliti on their dessert menu. Nicely paced and relaxing. We enjoyed the carbonara (one of the best in Rome) and the fettuccine with chicken offal in tomato sauce, the bruschetta with stracchino cheese and Sicilian anchovy with pistachio with was an umami bomb and so delicious. Servers were gracious and kind. Grazie mille

Always wonderful food and service, now with required reservation. With that box checked 30-days in advance, it is as always, classic Roman cuisine in a classic setting. The family continues the tradition of the father. Multiple visits over 15 years and never disappointed. Bravo!

I need to add, it is always a good sign to see locals as you fellow diners. Far from being a tourist trap, it is still known and loved by locals.

We didn't book but stopped by on the off chance and only had to wait for 20 minutes before being seated. Delicious pasta, artichoke was incredible. The staff were exceptional. Attentive without being overbearing. More expensive than we had been paying but being so close to the parthenon that was to be expected. Highly recommended

I wondered what was was the Big Hype about this Restaurant but know i know 🙏🏾
Fabiana Gargioli and her Team of Gentlemen took over once i entered the door of this delicious little Establishment. Roberto took the time to explain the Menu and recommend beautiful dishes and Fabiana matched the Wines to perfection. Carlos was also at my side making me feel really special and making me feel really at Home.
Anyway make sure you book and make sure you go, it’s that Simple as I’m returning for Lunch Monday with my Amore 🥂

Top level restaurant with its delicious food and helpful crew, the place was totally booked but they helped us and gave seats outside but you must make reservation to not miss it since there was a line after some time

Some how I struck gold and bagged a table without having success in nabbing a reservation before our holiday! We went at lunch time, after 1.30 and we got seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant is beautiful, view out the window of the room we were in over the corner of the pantheon. Only lacking factor was the very quiet atmosphere, despite nearly every table being occupied it was very quiet! Perhaps just a circumstance of the patronage of the day.

The food was marvellous, so reasonably priced, considering both the location & the hype surrounding such an institution of a restaurant. High level of service. The BEST carbonara I've ever tasted. The guanciale was cooked to a lovely crisp that gave a delicious salty element to the al denta pasta!! My husband loved the cacio e pepe.

Do everything in your power to get here on your trip! Will be dreaming about my carbonara until my next visit !!!

Outstanding amatriciana and cacio e pepe. Wonderful wine selection. Must make a reservation for lunch or dinner. It’s impossible to walk in and expect to be seated. This has consistently been one of the city’s best restaurants.

Nestled near the Pantheon in Rome, Armando Al Pantheon offers exceptional traditional Roman cuisine. Their Carbonara delights with al dente spaghetti, creamy Pecorino Romano, and crispy pancetta in a velvety sauce. Equally impressive is their Amatriciana. Beyond the exceptional dishes, the restaurant's warm hospitality and knowledgeable staff elevate the dining experience. It’s a very popular place I recommend reservations!

#1 - Make a reservation one month in advance. #2 - Enjoy some of the best pasta in Rome. If you don't have a reservation, go for lunch and get there by 12:15. They allow two parties of 2 without reservations. Rigatoni all' Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe are phenomenal.

We originally came because Stanley Tucci recommend it on his Searching for Italy show. We were not dissapointed! It's a little restaurant in the middle of a busy square. Service and food delicious. The sommelier paired a fantastic white wine for my dish. We had the Artichoke/Mozzarella for an appetizer, the Spaghetti a la carbonara and the Rigatoni Amatriciana (recommended by Stanley T) for our meals. The carbonara was a bit salty for my taste, but that's an individual preference. The servers were also great 👍🏾 overall fantastic experience.

Here you will find the most excellent, simple Italian food (the best Italian food isn’t complex) you will get anywhere. This is a must-go if you are visiting Rome. You must try to book as far ahead as you possibly can. You will be treated to friendly, unpretentious service and primarily Roman dishes food that are authentic and delicious. I’ve eaten here about a dozen times and have had almost everything on their menu made with the best ingredients anywhere. Excellent sommelier to help you pair wines. Enjoy!

One of the best experiences I’ve had in Rome!

The food is delicious!

The waiters are very polite and friendly!

We ordered a Carbonara and a Matriciana!

And a Lamb 🐑!

The pasta 🍝 is divine!

The wine is great!

And the price is very affordable!

You have to book your reservation 2 or 3 weeks prior to the night! It is very popular and hard to find a table at the last minute!!
