We love this place. Just returned for the second time. it's paradise. super friendly people, nice rooms in traditional style, a beautiful large garden and a great pool. The next road and house is far away, you get tranquility and peace of mind. good for couples and families, thanks a lot for hosting us!

One of the cleanest accommodations I’ve stayed in. Even it might seem that road access is not great, it’s definitely worthy, the tranquility and view are instantly calming.
Giuseppe is a lovely host. Thank you!

We had the best time here and will definitely return! Poggio Pozzetti is a calm and peaceful refuge not far from Cefalu beach, nestled in the hills, with authentic rooms, two lovely dogs roaming the estate and a well maintained pool and garden to relax, read and rewind. Guiseppe is helpful and an original Sicilian keeping everything tidy.

This cosy, quiet spot was a balm for us two knackered souls after a hectic heatwave weekend in the chiesas and osterias of Palermo. We spent seven lovely days here lazing from apartment to poolside and back again, with the occasional foray into the wider area, and highly recommend Poggio Pozzetti for anyone looking to reset mind, body or soul.

Giuseppe, gracious host and groundsman, greeted us out of the car with trademark cheer. Despite an unbreachable language barrier we immediately became firm friends - my name put him in mind of the Scottish hero from Braveheart, so he’d cry ‘Freedom’ with raised fist whenever we met.

The carefully renovated ancient farmhouse was split into four or five apartments - all occupied, but we never heard a peep from other groups from within the apartment. A well kitted-out kitchen let us sort our own meals out, a powerful double shower restored us post-beach, and a comfy massive bed made for solid nights of kip. No WiFi or phone signal inside (signal outside, WiFi by pool) - fine by me.

Our apartment - and our meals - overlooked the inland Madonie natural park, rolling verdant hills which we never saw up-close - too hot for hiking. Their natural beauty was matched in delightfulness only by the other beauty on our doorstep, the sweet-natured roving farmhouse dog, Baggo, I think, who periodically bumbled up for pets.

Creatures great and small greet visitors to Poggio. After farmhouse dogs you might meet donkeys and sheep (behind fences!) and tiny geckos, brightly coloured butterflies and the occasional wasps and ants (careful not to leave anything tasty on the kitchen floor or the ant trails will divert inside).

Other things: the pool was great for a refreshing dip, the poolside great to polish off books, meet your neighbours or watch the sun set by the ocean (though we spent much of the week watching Boris and Norrie getting a pummelling). The barbecue was well-used too.

And the little shop was thoughtfully stocked with local bits and bobs, from regional wine and beer to very local, very tasty olive oil, made (and pressed?) at Poggio Pozzetti itself. Here you can order fresh pastries and bread, brought each morning by Giuseppe.

We got a lot of mileage out of Poggio itself, but there was plenty to do beyond our little agriturismo idyll. We found the nearest beach a bit dirty and dull, but a little further up the coast towards Cefalu at Mazzaforno was a sparkling blue sea and much-needed deckchair/parasol facilities (€20 per day, mind).

Cefalu itself is a captivating little town, worth spending a half-day or day in. The fishbone shape of the old town gives opportunity for great aimless meandering, and there are loads of nice little restaurants with outdoor tables filling alleyways. I finally tried stigghiola - seasoned pig intestine wrapped around celery and fried - at one of these. Not actually that bad.

La Rocca, the huge hill towering above Cefalu, mixes a challenging hike with sweeping vistas and ancient history. Highly recommend.

A bit beyond Cefalu, in Sant Ambrogio, we booked onto an olive oil tour and tasting with Giovanna from Living and Loving Sicily. It was a bit of a punt - we just fancied eating some delicious local pane e olio - but turned out to be a real treat. The charming Giovanna showed us the ins and outs of her ancestral olive oil pressing factory in the centre of the village, now a museum to the trade, drawing throughout a affecting story of a cottage industry gone global, and a father, grandfather and great-grandfather all gone before their time and memorialised in her tour, in which I never felt closer to Sicily or Sicilians. Also highly recommend.

In summary: Poggio Pozzetti is a little slice of Sicilian heaven, a great launchpad for an active, explorative holiday and a great base for an inactive, book-reading holiday. Facilities, environment and people are top-notch. Recommended in the strongest terms.

Lovely place, had a great time here! Giuseppe the local Italian handyman is an absolute star, the properties are well maintained and have been renevated to a high and stylish standard, simply breathtaking. Views are stunning, the tiny "help yourself" on-site shop works perfectly. Leak :the track/road to the villa's is challenging, need to be a very good driver.

Love this place, had a great time here! Giuseppe the local Italian handyman is an absolute star, the properties are well maintained and have been renevated to a high and stylish standard, simply breathtaking. Views are stunning, the pool is clean and a decent size, and the tiny "help yourself" on-site shop works perfectly. We will be coming back in 2018 no doubt, it's an absolute gem in the heart of the north Sicilian coastline! P.s. Yes, the track/road to the villa's is challenging, just switch your air conditioning off.

Wat een pareltje! Super mooie agriturismo schoon mooi aangelegde tuin zeer goed verzorgd.
