La Cucina di Michelangelo - Home restaurant

During our stay in Cefalu we had the pleasure of stumbling upon this somewhat hidden gem of a restaurant. You dine in Michelangelo's private place. Space is therefore naturally limited (perhaps 12 people at most; We four were the only guests that evening), so it is essential to book in advance (also for planning purposes, of course). I really can't understand any bad review from someone who didn't book in advance and therefore gave it one star. That is simply disrespectful. Michelangelo speaks English, so communication over the phone for the reservation and at his place was easy and very friendly. Most importantly, the food was excellent. Because of his experience as a chef, Michelangelo combines Italian dishes with Asian or Latin American influences. During our two weeks in Sicily, we went daily to a good restaurant, but Michelangelo's food was one of the best culinary experiences we had there. It was a welcome change from the also good but admittedly a bit one-dimensional cuisine of many other restaurants there. Considering also the prices in other restaurants, the quality (and quantity) of what you get for what you pay is very good. We would highly recommend trying his place. You will not regret it. Absolutely unique and wonderful experience. Michelangelo is an amazing host and cook, who serves you a wonderful dinner in an equally wonderful setting.
If you are in the neighborhood, you cannot miss out on this restaurant. Just make sure to make a reservation as spots are quite limited.

Michelangelo is a very friendly host and I felt more than welcome. Even for 1 person he opened his kitchen and made the most beautiful dishes. The flavors are nicely balanced. We had a nice conversation and would like to come back when I'm in the area again. Thanks for the unforgettable evening Michelangelo!

We had a very pleasant evening and a fantastic dinner. The menu is an absolute highlight and was one of the best we ever had.
Service was world-class and there is no room for complaints. @Michelangelo: thank you so much for all the miracles you prepared for us. We will remember this evening and dinner all the time.

You can't find any better place than this in Sicily. This place is outstanding. Thank you so much for the possibility to be your guests. This experience will always remind us to our vacation. Michelangelo is such a special person and a great chef. His food was the really best we had in Sicily. When you are a food lover than you should go there. We had a wonderful menue even with two kids. He opend his kitchen only for us. Thank you so much Michelangelo. You are a great person!

We had an amazing dinner at Michelangelo’s .Our favourite dinner experience when we come to Sicily. We can highly recommend the Brazilian pastel, the prawns spaghetti and the miso soup. Dessert was also amazing. Recommended to anyone who comes to Cefalù and would like to enjoy a creative menù !

Se volete godere, in un’atmosfera riservata, di un’esperienza gastronomica di livello, questo è il posto giusto. Una degustazione di piatti di alta qualità preparati dallo chef Michelangelo con grande sapienza e abilità. Consigliatissimo!

Menu degustazione straordinario, dall'antipasto al dolce.. sapori nuovi e sorprendenti, obbligatorio finire il piatto anche sei stai scoppiando! Il proprietario super gentile e simpatico. Un home restaurant per chi apprezza il buon cibo, la ricercatezza pur spendendo poco!

Auf Michelangelos Dachterrasse haben wir einen außergewöhnlichen Abend mit großartigem Essen und einem wunderschönen Ausblick auf den Sonnenuntergang erlebt.
Auch die Kinder waren begeistert.
Michelangelo ist ein charmanter Gastgeber, der kulinarisch zu überraschen weiß.

Het was een hele bijzondere ervaring. Het verhaal van mijn 50e verjaardag😉 Je eet thuis bij Michelangelo. Je zit op zijn dakterras met uitzicht op zee. Wij waren de enige gasten (we waren met 6). Plek voor meer was er niet. Het eten was heerlijk. Heerlijke gerechten uit de Siciliaanse keuken met een superlieve en gezellige gastheer. Wij komen graag nog een keer terug❤👌Ciao

Michelangelo cucina per passione, ogni piatto deriva da uno studio e una ricerca costante, ogni piatto rispecchia l'amore e la dedizione.
I gusti sono strepitosi, contaminati da diverse culture ma senza dimenticare la tradizione.
È un viaggio entusiasmante dall'antipasto al dolce, in cui a far da cicerone è la sensibilità e la gentilezza dello chef.

Non è stata una cena.. è stata un esperienza dal primo all ultimo minuto… Piatti strabilianti senza mai cadere nel banale.. Qualità eccezionale.. Che dire di Michelangelo? Riesce a darti retta, ad essere simpatico, presente anche cucinando, facendo praticamente TUTTO.. Straconsigliato sotto tutti i punti di vista..
