Osteria De Gustibus

Best restaurant we visited during our 2 week tour of Sicily! Ask for a wine recommendation as you won't be disappointed. We had a red one night and a white the next, and for a £20 bottle in a restaurant, they were both exceptional. The owner/chef is lovely and the food was amazing (great value too). Best gnocchi with gorganzola and walnuts ever.

Impressed with the food. A bit of a hidden restaurant with not much in terms of traffic but the food was very tasty.
The meatballs were well seasoned and were soft. The fennel sausage was also delicious

There are a lot of tourist traps in Taormina and this is not one of them. This osteria has a fantastic menu with dishes that have thought and care put into them. The drinks menu is curated with attention and local wines and beers are offered here which are not found elsewhere. The owner and staff obviously care and their hospitality is genuine and warm. Gustibus is a place that leaves a lasting impression. I ordered the tagliatelle bolognese and had a local pistachio-smoked beer to drink. Would absolutely come back and try the whole menu *****

We had an delicious meal here. The waiters are very nice and helpful. The food is amazing. We loved the Pasta Bolognese and the Cannolo

My girlfriend and I were only in Taormina for 3 nights and each night we had dinner here because it was amazing. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious! It’s a smaller place with a more intimate environment and the wine recommendations were lovely! Next time we’re in Taormina, we’re definitely coming back.

A really low-key restaurant which gives it a good ambiance, more on the expensive side, the food was good but nothing to be impressed, only thing we had to wait a little bit for the service which isn't that bad actually. Would still recommend.

We had a wonderful evening here at De Gustibus. The food was very good and reasonable for the price. The pasta was good to the point and the sauces were a dream and yummi. The wine recommendation was also spot on and the wine itself was very good.

Above all, the service was very warm and friendly, even if it took a little longer for us to get our food. But not fake friendly but authentic and meant to be. This definitely contributed to the feel-good factor on the evening and is a big plus.

The price wasn't cheap but it was reasonable and good for what you got. And let's be honest, Taormina is generally not cheap. But here you still got value for money.

Fantastic place to have traditional Italian food. The chef is an Italian nonna who is welcoming you to her restaurant.

Stumbled across this place and sooo happy we did! Hands down the best food we had in Taormina. So authentic and soooo delicious. We had antipasti which was so much better than any we had, very generous portion. Followed by the gnocchi and then secondi with sausage and meatballs- all incredibly delicious. Would recommend over and over again! The wine was also delicious and reasonably priced.

Fabulous lunch. We had Bruschetta Lampedusa (not too much onion - finally) followed by two salads: Insalata Ponente (rocket/tuna/chickpeas) and Insalata Tramontana (orange and lemon and onoon and olive) - fresh, fabulous and gustissimo!!!

Excellent meal served by very friendly and helpful staff. Best we’ve had in Taormina by far. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.
Really tasty food clearly prepared with care and attention and a welcome change from the same old choices we’ve faced in almost every other place we’ve tried during our stay.
Huge selection of wines was almost overwhelming - our waitress kindly steered us towards a delicious but reasonably priced bottle.
Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who likes good food with a glass of wine (think they do a large range of beers too although we didn’t try any).

Everything was great here! Pasta carbonara and the sausage secondi both excellent. Service was great as well!

The food was super good, the atmosphere was really quiet, not to busy as most of the touristic places around. And the staff was super sweet.

Absolutely Delicious! Ordered the Pasta Alla Norma and Carbonara. Both cooked to Perfection and soooo Tasty. The chef is so nice and made everything fresh and delicious. This will be my new go to when visiting Taormina. You will be licking your plate clean. This is a must try place! Wonderful Tasty Home Cooked Meal! :)

So this is a service review only as we had some time to kill before our train back to AciTrezzo and thought we would stop here for some wine as it seemed to be the perfect spot. We met two lovely ladies... The first greeted us and took our order (I saw her having her lunch when I went in to use the ladies a bit later). The second brought and served the wine and we had a lovely conversation about her son living in Birmingham and our adventures in Sicily this far. The wine was delicious and the people watching spot was just as expected...a perfect hour in our two week vacation!

We passed by chance this rather small but very cozy restaurant with a small outdoor area. The service was very friendly, attentive and customer-oriented. The food was bombastic! Price-performance was good. Gladly again!

Really nice & friendly traditional Sicilian restaurant. The food was all delicious & all prepared freshly for each person. Great for vegetarians too. The beer selection is fantastic & all from Sicily. Definitely recommended. Just off the main street surrounded by other big restaurants but worth going in as soon as you see it as it fills up quickly 😋

This place is a hidden gem! The wines are incredible that are all chosen by the owner who is also the chef. She is a delight of a women and when you eat her food you will know. Best meal my husband and I have had since arriving to Sicily. A definite must!

We came across this place for lunch and so glad we did! The pasta was delicious and our Negroni’s tasted great too. The service was excellent as well and we had a nice a little conversation with one of the chef’s when we went inside to pay. Such lovely people and they have the cutest (and most shy) dog, Santiago.

We had lunch in Taormina here. I had the pasta alla norma, and my wife had the Polpette in Foglia di Limone. Both were excellent in taste and portions were just right. The pasta had a hearty sauce and the polpette was nicely seasoned and flavourful. Balsamic vinegar and a very nice bottle of Etna D.O.P. Extra Virgin Olive Oil was placed at our table with some bread to accompany the food - Yummy! Overall a very nice lunch with good food, expertly prepared, friendly and efficient service and good value for money. Thank you and great job!
