Rifugio Franco Remondino

Great Refugio in the Maritime Alps. It is beautifully located at 2430 meters, watching over the valley. The ascent is challenging, around 700 meters in altitude, but doable.

The Refugio provides free wifi and has a good selection of drinks. Hot showers cost 3€, unlimited time.

They offer a substantial dinner with entree, antipasti, main and desert + coffee or digestive at the end. You'll definitely be full.

In the evening you have a fantastic view over the valley with the sun setting in front of you. After a long day this is a beautiful spot to enjoy a sundowner and relax the legs.

You need to bring your own sleeping bag or sheets as the Refugio does not provide this. Rooms are descent but basic. We slept in a six bed dorm with two three story bunks.

Yes, tent spots are available. We saw four tents put up while sleeping in the Refugio. The spots looked decent.

Some people at the Refugio spoke perfect English and the host (Marco Ghibaudo) has an excellent knowledge about the various hikes/ascendes that you can start from the Refugio. Do not hesitate to talk to him or some other staff!

We slept in the dorms, had dinner + breakfast and a couple of Panaché's. Our total was 150€ in the end. I'd say it is not cheap but considering the service and the location the price is fair.

All in all a great place to stay with a variety of routes and ascends to the highest mountains in the area.

Great Rifugio and super nice people that take care of it. From Rifugio Regina Elena is about 2/2.30. Amazing view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. The food was tasty and it was the best price after the trail.

We have spent a lovely time there. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the views amazing. The only issue we had was that of a broken boiler, so no there was no hot water.

Amazing, polite and smiling staff. They are welcoming and treating you like a real guest, which is pretty uncommon in the rifugi. ;)
Their cakes are close to a bite of heaven.

21/22 agosto 2024. Bellissima passeggiata fino al rifugio. Ottima accoglienza da parte del personale, tutti giovani e apparsi appassionati della montagna. Camere e servizi igienici puliti. Cibo buono e abbondante (cena e colazione). D’estate è presente una stanza per la ricreazione con biliardino, ping pong e giochi di società. Due affettuosi cani aspettano le vostre coccole

Rifugio messo in una posizione spettacolare. La struttura è splendida e rimodernata di fresco, da lì ci sono una quantità pressoché infinita di gite, vie alpinistiche e vie di arrampicata possibili. Il cibo è buonissimo, il personale gentile e le stanze comode, provviste di letti a castello su tre piani.

Un luogo meraviglioso gestito da persone fantastiche. Grazie mille per l' ospitalità e un bacione a Lupin e muflone...i due cani del rifugio che fanno da comitato di accoglienza!

Ottima gestione, si occupano anche di seguirti sulle vie che vai a fare, sulle traversate e sulle lunghe escursioni, in caso di contrattempi possono intervenire, questo atteggiamento non è così scontato nei rifugi. Per il resto si mangia bene c'è pure la doccia calda, cosa volere di più?

Sono andato a fare una passeggiata in questa valle bellissima dove è situato questo rifugio, posto fantastico panorama incantevole, il gestore è una persona squisita e molto preparata tecnicamente che ti sa consigliare nelle escursioni, lo staff cordiale gentile giovane questo non è da sottovalutare... certamente da ritornare consigliatissimo!

E SI ERA RITROVATA SU DEI BARATRI) LE HA INTIMATO DI NON MUOVERSI (GRIDANDO DA UNA PARTE ALL'ALTRA DELLA VALLE) E IN 20 MINUTI LE HA MANDATO
UN ELICOTTERO A RECUPERARLA INCOLUME...CHAPEAU...

Di rifugi ne ho frequentati... ma la polenta buona come da voi, non l ho ancora trovata in giro! Personale giovane ed educato, stanze pulite, cucina top!

Rimasto molto soddisfatto dal cibo e dal personale molto gentile. Molto carino il Rifugio penso che almeno una volta andrò a dormirci.

Quello al remondino e poi a cima argentera é stato uno dei trekking più belli della mia vita super consigliato, personale super accogliente e cibo davvero buono

Ottima accoglienza, il personale e il gestore Marco sono ottime persone, preparate ad accogliere i camminatori stremati. La polenta concia SUPER.ottimi anche i prezzi. I servizi igienici puliti, l'area attorno al rifugio molto confortevole e curata. Il saluto di Marco il gestore al rientro è stato affettuoso e amichevole. Grazie a tutti il personale.

Eccezionale esperienza, un grazie particolare alla gestione, tutta al femminile. Ragazze simpatiche, instancabili, attente, preparate anche sugli itinerari. Ottima la cena con possibilità di bis, piatti abbondanti e di ottima cucina. Stanze ordinate, funzionali; spazi per lasciare zaino e attrezzatura. Bellissima vista sul tramonto e sul gruppo Argentera. Da tornarci subito....

Bel rifugio di alta montagna, collocato in una buona posizione di appoggio per fare escursioni di più giorni.
Personale davvero molto gentile e disponibile, ci siamo fermati solo per una birra e un dolce, ma siamo stai accolti in maniera educata e cordiale.
