Casa Castagna 1620

We had dinner at the restaurant not so long ago. We were so impressed by the service as they went above and beyond in accommodating us. The dishes were also excellent - far better than what I have had in some 3-star Michelin restaurants. I very much recommend a meal at the restaurant!

The best restaurant we have eaten at in a long time ! They are passionate about their food and wine , superb service , local ingredients and great value with the most beautiful setting . We would give 10 stars of we could!

A beautiful restaurant serving delicious food in an amazing setting.
All dishes were delicious - antipasti taster board, cod and polenta with an onion confit.

The staff were lovely, kind and polite but service was very slow. We were not in a hurry and enjoyed the opportunity to sit quietly and take in the calm and tranquility of the lake off season.

Casa Castagna is simply put a true gem in Mergozzo. The care of all details, the location, the restaurant and the kindness of staff bring this beautiful hotel well above any major chain.

Very beautiful location. Lake is perfect for swimming. Rooms are big, comfortable, and are perfect for a family of 4. Food and service was also great. Spectacular experience.

Bonjour, we had a great experience at Casa Castagna 1620, the room was splendid with a great view on the lake, food was very fresh and good, and the staff very kind. we could forget for a time the excitement of the big cities, very relaxing. I recomend the Casa Castagna 1620, and I will go back again. :)

An idyllic setting the village of Mergozzo nestled on lake Mergozzo. Situated in the Provence of Verbano -Cusio-Ossola , Piedmont .situated at the foot of the mountains it's a perfect spot to getaway.
Casa Castagna a newly renovated house from 1620, beautifully laid sensitive to its history and the quality of the guest rooms are second to none, menu is really looking at local produce and creating the most layers of flavour and making your taste buds yearn for more, exceptional wine collection and a cheese afineur cave within the stock area. Some exquisite pieces of formaggiayou'll not find elsewhere. Customer service is just amazing with such friendly and very knowledgeable staff . Lake Maggiore is just around the corner it's fine elegance and beauty I feel has no match for Mergozxo casa Castagna on its own secluded lake

Truly a culinary experience one can't forget. Some dishes make your hairs stand on their end they are so delicious. Thank you for the experience!

What a beautiful place…

We spent 4 nights in this very beautiful house from 1620 which has just been renovated and opened only 3 weeks ago.

The hotel is located in the central square of Mergozzo, a charming village a few minutes from Lake Maggiore which has retained a crazy charm.

The rooms are superb, the breakfast delicious (fresh fruit, smoothies, eggs, omelets, croissants…) and the restaurant specializing in cheese, ham and wine a delight.

The staff are attentive and efficient. The boss Giuseppe Castagna is a cheese maker as well as a sommelier and has a taste for good things !

Thank you for these good times ! We loved our stay with you, this is the best place to visit Lake Maggiore and its surroundings.

Restaurant idyllique avec une terrasse qui donne sur la place elle même en bord de lac
Tout le romantisme Italien pour un repas succulent.
Fromages et charcuteries faites maison, le patron est passionné.
Et des plats très elaborés qui composent une carte variée.
La carte des vins parcourt toute l'Italie.
Les 2 jeunes au service sont adorables et maîtrisent très bien leur job.
2 dîners fin juillet, a 2 et un souvenir merveilleux.

Nonostante il tempo brutto, neve, freddo e pioggia per tre giorni su tre... ma ovvio che questo non dipende dalla struttura!
Camere con vista sul lago, nuove, tranquille e con l'atmosfera giusta! Bagno con tutti i confort e accappatoi morbidi.
I piatti della cucina e le prime colazioni da favola!!!

Wir waren zu viert am 28.06.24 im Restaurant. Schon lange habe ich in einem Lokal nicht so eine tolle Gastfreundschaft erlebt, wie hier! Wahnsinn! Wir waren sehr zufrieden und man hatte das Gefühl, man ist bei den Inhaber-Ehepaar zuhause und wird bewirtet! Das Essen war jeden Euro wert und die Krönung kam dann zum Abschluss, als wir dann die letzten Gäste an dem Abend waren und nach dem zahlen der Rechnung noch die "Schatzkammer des Hauses" betreten durften. Wir kamen aus dem staunen nicht mehr heraus! Vielen lieben Dank noch einmal für den schönen Abend an das Inhaber-Ehepaar!

Absolut fantastische Küche! Alle Gerichte sind sehr zu empfehlen. Wir haben mehrmals dort zu Abend gegessen und waren immer wieder begeistert von der Qualität und Zubereitung des Essens. Mit der wunderbaren Lage an der Seeprommenade und dem herzlichen und tollen Service eine ganz grosse Bereicherung für Mergozzo!

Excellent restaurant avec une vue directe sur le lac. Le personnel est très agréable et le dîner fut très bon. Les prix sont très corrects pour la qualité. Une belle surpris.

Mit Blick auf den See haben wir toll gegessen. Die Menükarte ist klein, aber es ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Die Teller sind sehr schön angerichtet und es hat mega gut geschmeckt. Das Servicepersonal ist freundlich, flink und sehr aufmerksam. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Mille Grazie

Ho apprezzato molto sia la posizione, proprio davanti al lago di Mergozzo (splendida vista sul lago direttamente dalla camera) sia le ottime cene e le eccellenti colazioni. Il personale molto attento e preparato. I proprietari ti fanno sentire coccolato. Bravi!

Se sei alla ricerca di un ristorante che soddisfi a pieno la voglia di un ottimo piatto, di un ottimo aperitivo o di un’ottima colazione, Casa Castagna 1620 è il locale giusto. La meravigliosa vista sul lago, visibile anche dalle bellissime camere, accompagnano il convivio. Top, top, top!!
