We had a fantastic dinner. You choose homemade local dishes from the counter or the cheese and meats board. We chose to have the cooked dishes to truly taste the local cuisine and they did not disappoint. The meatballs in tomato sauce were the best! The owner recommended a great wine from Vesuvius. We left happy and full!

Absolutely delightful lunch!

This restaurant prides itself on offering authentic regional cuisine. The owner is clearly very proud of the selection and quality of food - and rightfully so! Everything was delicious.

The mozzarella served as part of the Caprese Salad was the best I had!

IMPORTANT: this is a small shop that offers local products, prepared according to tradition. Some foods are meant to be served hot, others cold or at room temperature. This is how Italians eat. If you want something that reflects your own culture or style of cooking, there are many touristic spots that cater to the needs of those who don’t care. Pino, however, has also created a sit-down area filled with beautiful local art the reflects ancient local legends and traditions. The cheese and cured meats will be thoughtfully accompanied. With jams and honeys and other treats. There are also cooked specialities that change from time to time. Ask for a sampling of Pino’s favorite items. Let him suggest a glass or bottle of wine. In the summer, please know that it is hot all over Italy and their electric grid does not handle ice cold air conditioning everywhere. Try to slow down, breathe, and enjoy this lovely place and be present to the ingredients and flavors and you won’t be disappointed.

My first meal in Salerno and it was delicious. Insalata Caprese in a miniature bread bowl, Escarole with Olives and Capers- Pantelleria capers, Gaeta olives, extra virgin olive oil, Trapani salt. I loved the Nirvana Strong Belgian Ale so I had two. I will eat here again (and it's 30' from my apartment yo). Recommend!

I returned and enjoyed the Escarole Pizza and Meatballs in Gravy. Excellent again.

We went here for lunch during our stay in Salerno and the manager/owner was very welcoming and took great care in describing each of the dishes. He explained everything was typical of the area and that they use fresh, local ingredients. We really enjoyed the food and hope to return by we fly home.

Botteghelle65 is my favorite restaurant in Salerno. You can really get a taste for the region with Pino's charcuterie board. The meats and cheeses are selected with care. You also get to try local honey, jam, and olive oil. The wine and second dishes are also lovely. We tried the vegetarian lasagna, rice dish, a pasta dish, and the meatballs (you should definitely try these). Everything was fantastic. It was so good that we went back there again.

What a lovely place in Salerno. Great selection of local produce and atmosphere and the owner made us feel right at home. Try the chocolate aubergine!

We had a great time at Pino's restaurant! Delicious home-made pasta (he even has gluten-free options), amazing atmosphere and great service. Saluti dalla Croazia!

Delightful little salumeria around the corner from the cathedral. Lunch was to die for, with fresh mozzarella made that morning and espresso black as night. Came back in the evening for the best cheese plate I've ever had. The house wines are good, too. Will definitely be coming back for a full dinner next time I'm in Salerno.

Unique concept, delicious fresh, local food.
We stumbled across this gem for a casual but very tasty dinner. We had a very filling meal of bread (with amazing olive oil), soup, baked pasta, vegetables, cheeses (that came with lovely sauces), and a meat assortment. The food was superb. We also enjoyed two very nice bottles of wine, plus water, 3 people for only 92 euro. Amazing price for such a good meal. The wine was almost 50% of the bill (to give you an idea of how well priced this excellent food was).
Owner was amusing and friendly in just the right way. Had a very good time.

We went here twice in our four day trip! Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, fabulous owner. I have been to Italy ten times and one of the best tiramisu’s I’ve ever had. Really fun designs and just a really fun, delicious place. Please visit!

Really good food and the tiramisu may have been one of the top 10 things I’ve eaten. Great selection of wines as well. The manager/owner would ask after each plate how I liked it and seemed genuinely happy when I said yes. Really made me feel welcome and showed that they really care about the quality of the food.

Really good choice in old town Salerno! Authentic, great selection of ham/cheese, very good caprese (even if in the whole region is speciality, here was better), prices are all right for quality. Recommend!!

Just had one of the best meals I have ever had in Italy. It's a little hole in the wall place with real Italian food. Being from Canada and not being surrounded with rourists but with locals only tells me that this is really good......and it is better than good. They cook a variety of items for the day and you pick what you want and then they plate it family style and bring it ro the table. They have a very extensive wine list but we went with there house wine and it was awesome. Come here and you will be not be disappointed.

This was my first meal while in Salerno and also my last before leaving. Pino understands the food that he is serving you like a good pilot understands their plane. He took the time to explain what we were having and where it came from with each course. I ate at about 35 restaurants on my most recent trip to Italy and Botteghelle 65 was both the most memorable as well as the highest quality and most delicious meal of the trip. I’ve been home for three weeks and my girlfriend and I are still discussing the charcuterie board as well as the eggplant dishes. I don’t write reviews often but I’ve run out of friend to tell about this experience. WOW, just WOW. Don’t change a thing, I will return to Salerno specifically to come say hello to Pino and eat this delicious and fresh food. Thank you Pino!!!!
