Concezione Restaurant

Me and my partner went here on a date night, and it was a good introduction to catanese cuisine through the chef’s interpretation. We took the 5 course tasting menu and we were both full by the end of it, but not uncomfortably full, more like desirably full, even tho we both thought we would leave hungry, the chef made sure that wasn’t the case. There’s many choices 14, 10, 7, 5 courses tasting menu and even a la carte menu, but with order of minimum 3 courses. We were started with an entree/starter that was among many things, also some mini tacos as you’ll see in the pictures. Each dish had its own description and story behind it, we appreciated the waiters for always being prompt to cleaning the table and filling our glasses, plus really fast cleanup of the dishes from the table. I just say, the tomato butter was one of the best butters i’ve ever had in my life, it was packed with tomato flavor and citrusy taste, perfect balance for the battery flavor. The service was impeccable. I really appreciated how the chef came by at the end of the meal to everyone to say thank you and get some opinions on his vision, he was to be one of the nicest chefs i’ve interacted with, even if there was a language barrier, the waiter translated and we got to offer our thanks to him for the special night and also for letting us taste his interpretation and vision on sicilian and catanese dishes. I would say it’s a must if you’re in Catania.

An amazing hidden gem. We had the 10 course vegetarian tasting menu and the level of flavour in each dish was incredible. Vegetarian food at this level is hard to come by. The morning ‘cappuccino’ and ravioli pasta were two highlights, and the service was very personal. Meeting the chef, Manuel, was a real treat too.

We really enjoyed our meal last night. Having a Birds Eye view of the kitchen was an interesting addition to the experience. We tried the 7 course tasting menu. I’m a vegetarian and that wasn’t a problem. Stand out for me was the look of the dishes, they were delicate and pretty. The different breads and tomato flavoured butter was excellent. The pre starters were delicious. Tomato ice cream was a real surprise and I loved it. All the courses were enjoyable. The waiting staff were attentive and informative. The chef took time to introduce himself to us. The passion for food and local ingredients is obvious.I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

One of the best food experience ever. All dishes are excellent, chef that is constantly interacting with guests, wine pairing that matches perfectly the dishes and the service is amazing. The restaurant itself is very cozy. Thank you to all team!

We had the 10 course tasting menu, which was exceptional. The onion course and the fermented orange were incredible. They catered to dietary requests supplied in advance and made us feel very welcome and looked after.

Plant-based WoW! We had a overwhelming good dinner at Concezione Restaurant—a true celebration for my wife’s birthday.
It all started with being welcomed by the chef Manuel Tropea. No hiding, no pretentious attitude. Literally, (almost all) the chairs of the minimalistic designed restaurant are some sort of facing the open kitchen, which can be watched through a giant glass window.
Although the kitchen is not strictly vegan, they had no problem, or I must say ‘were looking forward,’ serving us a 10-course plant-based menu. The kitchen crew was happily smiling and almost cheering when master chef Manuel announced the dishes; BON CHEF, they resonated encore!
The evening started with ‘a joke from the kitchen’, which were 5 mini dishes made from the ‘leftovers’ (no food waste here!)
Followed by the amuse bouche and 4 types of bread servings, which stayed until the dessert (typical Sicilian, they said)
Accompanied by matching wines, the two service professionals guided us through the 10 courses of wonderful and inspirational fine dining food made solely from Sicilian ingredients. OMG! From the first to the last course, we have been on a finger-licking adventure.
10 courses was maybe a bit too much, and it was not needed to get the taste of Concezione. So if you go, there is also a 5 and 7 course available.
Honestly, we have never ever tasted a better plant-based menu around the world with such a good service.

Wow. Manuel’s vision is amazing. We did the 10 course tasting menu and wine pairing. The food was delicious and Sicilian sourced. Each course was an education. The service was fantastic as was the wine. I cannot rate it enough. I don’t agree with the other reviews that said the food was too salty - I do not like salt at all and didn’t have any issues. Manuel also came to speak to us and was great. I won’t share too many pictures as I don’t want to ruin the surprise! It was worth every penny (euro).

We had a really great time in this restaurant. The waiters were really kind. The food was amazing, with some really good flavour. The chef was amazing too. It was a great experience, really worth the visit.

A real experience. Nearly 3 hours of eating great food. Really nice staff and you get to watch the chefs at work.
Had the 7 course vegetarian menu - but more like 11 courses by the time you add the amuse boy he and petit fours. Nearly all the courses worked really well. Probably my favourite was the ravioli and accompanying sauce.
In the vegetarian menu there was some repetition of flavours and ingredients eg smoked flavour and the fermented cucumber. Also slightly strange to use pea shoots as garnish to nearly all courses including desserts. Though that said, the flavour worked.

Had a lovely experience! Staff was very attentive and the food super creative. If you’re adventurous and like fine dining with experimental flare, this is the place.

We had a wonderful meal at Concezione. The service in French and English was warm and attentive and the food was out of this world. There were flavour pairings I would never have imagined - the dishes were playful and surprising and very filling for their size (the seven course tasting menu was plenty!). The chef came to greet us at the end of our meal which was very kind. A once in a lifetime opportunity for us while we visited Catania!

Amazing experience. The waitresses were really professional. The dishes were excellent and the service as well. A spectacular gastronomic show and experience. I definetly recommend.

Easily worth a Michelin star. Excellent food, concept,
service and wine. The connection to Sicilian traditions is perfect and everywhere: bread, seafood, wine…

One word : wow ! Super good cuisine, surprising presentations and very very tasty ingredients. All sustainable and local, with a lot of attentions, I am really surprised and I loved the experience. Lots of emotions also since the restaurant is small and enables us to see the kitchen and to feel the energy of the cooks.
The wine list is great, we just did not know that we could do the wine pairing and ordered a bottle before seeing the menu unfortunately. I would also have liked to have more details about the bottles since it was hard to choose, but it didn’t impact the experience.
The waiter speaks French, Italian, English and Spanish and makes the experience really smooth. For this price, it’s a really really really good experience and I would advise it to anybody visiting. ❤❤

We came here for a quiet dinner and it is truly a hidden gem. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu and were blown away. The servers were very kind and attentive and made our experience extremely special. The food was delicious, evocative, and unique - the chefs are really talented. We also had an amazing bottle of wine recommended by the waiter. We highly recommend giving this restaurant a try if you are looking for a special experience.

An outstanding Sicilian dining experience. Each course was prepared delicately with lots of love and explained very well to us. We were pleased that they had a vegetarian option for the 5-course meal, which was very creatively crafted and unlike anything I'd experienced before. Highly recommend as a fine dining experience here in Catania.

Went here for dinner and had the 7 course tasting menu. Loved that every part of every dish was local to Sicily and locally sourced. The menu took a tour through Catanian cuisine with a fine dining twist. Would recommend Concezione to anyone looking for a unique experience at a very reasonable price. Thanks to the chef!

A wonderful experience of Sicily’s gastronomy. The chef will make you visit this region of Italy through diverse dishes prepared with local ingredients for an astonishing result each time. We appreciated our evening there. Thank you also for the excellent service which made our evening so special.
