I found this tiny craft beer place as i was trying to escape the crowd. The bar has 5 five taps with fresh beers and also fridges full of various kinds of Italian crafts. I was happy to find gose and raspberry sour in the fridge and also blanche on tap was great. The bar lady was friendly and could introduce the various beers to me. Recommended for any beer lover.

Really great beer shack with a huge selection. The owner seemed like a true beer nerd, what more can you ask for!

Small shop/ bar that only serves Italian craft beers. Quite a large offer, didn't know there were so many craft beer brewers in Italy 😀. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable.

A great bar and a must for any craft beer lovers. Owner was friendly and obviously passionate about beer. Don’t be put off entering if this small bar looks full as there is also a large room downstairs

We called in here for a couple of beers. They offered some great craft beer choices from in and around Lucca.

Staff were very friendly and the shop is well laid out. There is a downstairs area if the upstairs is too busy though the downstairs does lack some of the atmosphere found in the main part of the shop.

Lovely chat with the bartender. Knows his stuff. Unfortunately the beer (bottle) list is a bit outdated. Has mostly Brùton on tap which is excellent

Cool little shop with a few local taps and great selection of Italian bottle/can beers. It's right on Via Filungo so let your significant other shop while you try some local eepa/IPA

Small beer shop / bar offering a big selection of craft beers and some beers on tap. A good place for a beer if you want a change in alcoholic beverage from the usual wine or aperitif. Many locals ordered a beer in a plastic cup to go as well.

Great little beer shop selling Italian Craft Beers in bottle and also has beer on keg. Sister shop to the pub just up the street. Friendly staff who speak English and are knowledgeable about the beer. Had a really nice Bruton Brewery beer called Lilith.

I had a chance to visit Lucca a little while back..
While doing the typical tourist things, I found starring googly eyed at the vintage Italian folding bikes. The roomy U frame, the welded on back rack.. they just seemed to neat, I fell in love. I had a day to myself within and around Lucca, so obsessively decided to find one to bring home.

From open bike shop, to market, to thrift store, to 'nother bike shop.. I kept coming up short. Every time I thought I found my new bike, "mine, that's how I got here"
or
"è mia, è come ho sentito"
to which I would just offer more money too.

Eventually I found a back alley and followed the sounds of a spray paint can, where I found hip looking individual in the back room of bike shop giving a bike frame a new coat of paint. This, had felt extra serendipitous, as my current job was actually painting bike, as well. Not only did he tell me stories of their annual fixed gear race on the walls of this ancient city. He also didn't have the bike I was looking for. Nor' did he rent me a fixie. He did however give me great conversation, help break some of the language barrier, and give me some good leads and reasons these bikes were hard to find.

The very best thing I learned that day, and from my bike painting counterpart, was there was a really cool craft beer store in town, "De Cervesia Beershop".

I had walked miles, and miles, and with no bike to show for my efforts. Exhausted, I opened the door to a little beer shop, not far from the hotel I was staying. Inside there was an awesome selection of some really good beers. The fellow working was, very friendly and helped me make my choices. Some really good Italian craft beers and others. My taste-buds finally completed their long wait for juicy hops, sour fruits, and dark malts. It really made my stay in Lucca that much better. There is something really comforting about finding those relevant, or relate-able spots in a far away land.

Having done some damage to the first stash, I went again to replenish. Once again, getting very friendly service, that made me feel welcomed and respected. We chatted about art and travel, and the gentleman (I am sorry i forget your name) told me about a comic book "get together" of sorts, where they go to the book store to read comics, and drink beer. I could live like that!!

Thanks for the tasty beverages, good vibes, and cool slaps. Hope you enjoyed the glass tops!

P.S, Oh I have two folding bikes now ;)

Today, Wednesday, Nov 19th, 2014...this is my 3rd visit to the store and it has been a great one. There are sooooo many more artesianal (spelling?) beers available it's mig and mouth-boggling. I went in looking for my first choice...Bruton...which was the first Lucca beer I'd heard of...and still the only. Found what I wanted, thank you very much. and saw that they have 2 taps to taste Bruton...nice.
I got a small Blonde and a 750ml Stoner...have finished the stoner tonight...with a meal, yes.
So, if you want to buy, this is the place. If you want to sit and drink, then go to the other location in Lucca on Via Michele Rosi. They have several taps...only 4 seats at the 'bar' and are as friendly as the beer.
OR, go on out to the brew-pub, about 10k north of Lucca. Full restaurant and larger space to relax and drink your fav.
Please support your local brewers, especially Bruton...love em...and it's available in the USA! I'm from Delaware...and Pescia, IT

The best place in Lucca for Italian craft beer (along with the affiliated De Cervesia pub at the end of Via Fillungo). Brothers Matteo and Michele are dedicated to Italian craft beer and have pulled out all the stops bringing Italian craft beer to Lucca. This beershop has 5 taps of Bruton beers plus a huge selection of bottles from various Italian breweries. There is room downstairs as well, and they're cool with outside food. Grab a pizza to go and head over here to get a table and beer to go with it. Plus, the music is always great, something far too rare in Lucca!
