This place is a gem for the budget traveller. On the edge of small town Jamaica, by Boscabel and Stewart Town. Easy access on the A3 between Ocho Rios and Oracabessa.

Walking distance to grocery store and bars/restaurants (both local and resort style).

All balconies are shady and have a beautiful view of the sea.

BIG PLUS: although many of the popular once-public beaches on that stretch of the coast (Reggae Beach, Marley’s Place, James Bond Beach) are closed. Guests at Bleu Haven have private access to Marley’s Place via a back stairway.

I stayed here a couple of times back in 2018 and 17, and found it very pleasant. This time I was pleased to see many improvements that made it an even more comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The rooms are now air-conditioned and they have a fridge and microwave. Great for reheating leftovers from Loma’s Bar across the street. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows.

For more elaborate cooking there is a shared kitchen. There are a nice new stove and fridge, but the pots, pans and utensils leave something to be desired. It’s a small detail that I’m sure they will get too. Improvements are ongoing.

The fridge in the kitchen is a mess and the bed is crazy tough like it's made up of more board than mattress
