Location is easily accessible by taking attractions bus if you arrive before 4pm, the place is near to Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Todaiji Temple in walking distance! An udon shop down the street , the foods is so delicious and highly recommended! You can have a stroll in the evening and even early morning when there's less tourists! The room itself is clean and spacious, the shared bathrooms and toilets are clean too! The staffs work here are helpful and kind, they can speak fluent english, feel free to ask them for recommendations!

Absolutely loved staying in this inn! The room was simple and comfortable, the common area won our hearts with small stylish details which liven up the industrial feel of the building. The location is absolutely fantastic in the middle of the deer park near a shrine. Make sure you take some deer crackers for your walk! :)

Staying at this hotel has been the highlight of our trip to Japan, staying in the deer park has been so fun and it was very affordable considering the magical location. The staff is also incredible and some of the nicest people I have come across.

Such a lovely location if you'd rather stay in nara park than nara town. Bear in mind that all of the shops and restaurants in nara park close around 5pm, but it is only about a 20 minute walk into town, where things are open till later. The rooms are basic but for the price it is amazing. Kitchen facilities available to use and shared bathrooms are good. Would recommend!

This place is magic. Unbelievable. If you're ever in Japan you will not regret coming here. Its like Spirited Away but but with friendly deers instead of monsters. Utterly beautiful. Trust me, you will need more than a couple of days to see this place. Its a bit touristy but mainly between 9 to 5. Thats when the shops are open and the busses run. The architecture of this place is ....odd but amazing. Fantastic staff. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen has everything. Wifi good, aircon good, beds comfy. Just bring a cup noodle or some snacks incase you get the munchies after everything closes.

I came here with my sisters. The kitchen was a bit cold in winter, but it was great to take classic photos.

Staying here overnight was BEST decision ever!! Epic, to wake up with deer sleeping under your windows and to observe them play while having breakfast by your small balcony. If you go up the stairs you will find many souvenir shops and food being sold but they all close at 5 p.m. the Inn can sell you instant noodles and similar, they are behind the counter in the large kitchen. You can even cook your own dinner or warm up your dishes in the microwave or the small oven. Bathroom and toilets are shared but very clean. They provide one towel and toiletries are in the shower box. There is another guesthouse underneath, that caters to families who the children. The staff was very nice and recommended best places to see the deer in natural setting and for a fantastic sunset on the terrace of a cool temple! Everything in the building was new and stylish, very hip interior design! Way better than expected. Also, why would you stay at a hotel in the city when you can stay here in the forest and nature with all World Heritage sites within 15 minutes walk!! We stayed 2 nights and was definitely not enough, would love to stay a week here!! The deer are adorable and less dangerous than you would think! Also they eat leaves from surrounding trees, you don't really need to buy them crackers. It was an amazing vacation time, we bought delicious pizza from the Happy Kitchen Kin-no-Shika and had it for dinner and breakfast in the beautiful Deer Park Inn! It was very quiet when we stayed in August 2020 and unforgettable! Can't wait to go back!

It's lovely. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful, and keep the place clean. The rooms were quite plain, but the bed was comfortable.

It was amazing to stay in the middle of the park, and there's a couple of restaurants nearby. There's deer wandering around. Getting there from the train station with luggage is a hassle, unless you're taking a taxi, which shouldn't be more than ¥1500 from the JR station.

The hotel is in a really good location with clean rooms and excellent service. The receptionist are really kind and they told us about the tourist attraction nearby the hotel. As the hotel is in the deer park you will find deeds outside of your hotel

The Deer Park Inn:

This place looks a little like or rather is a hostile type accommodation. With that being said it is well kept.

The rooms are very clean and simple. Towels are provided, air conditioners and some toiletries.

The staff is very personable and helpful. Free wifi as well

If you are travelling solo or on a budget, book this without a second thought. It cant get any better than this. Even if you are NOT on a budget, I'd still recommend going ahead with this. Absolutely beautiful experience, will always remember time spent here very dearly.

Budget so shared bathroom and a basic room, however it was clean and the shower was better than the one in our home. Great to have a hot power shower in the winter. It was great to have a break in the park surrounded by nature and temples. Breakfast was available at the bottom of the steps at 10am from a local udon place.

I had a really comfortable stay at "the deer park inn" in Nara. The staff is really nice and they help you with everything. The gave us some recommendations for the surrounding area and also helped us order some Pizza and a taxi for our leave. Aldo they are available around the clock. Our room was clean and nice. We even had a little sofa to relax and so the room had a atmosphere like at home.

Great place! Spacious, clean, comfortable, calm - you can watch the deer in the forest from your window... Common kitchen is well equipped and you can buy variety of ready-made food, snacks and beer here. Friendly, English speaking, helpful and well-informed staff. Located in walking distance of most historical sites, just on the outskirts of Kasuga Taisha shrine, inviting for night walk in the park... I sleep here on every trip to Nara and I was never disappointed!

This place was definitely something different compared to staying in the main city, when i have visited previously visited Nara. Waking up and going to bed with deers roaming right outside Is an experience in itself.

The owner and the cosy room made it an exceptional visit. We felt very welcome. The lounge is a cosy retro type with pipings exposed. Kitchen is accessible to use with all main utilities.

The location of this place is seriously magical being in the heart if Nara park. Just beside the guesthouse is a small quiche restaurant, makes for a great take away to enjoy with a bottle of wine whilst having a staring contest with the deers just out the window.

Motorcycle friendly with parking right beside the place.

Cons: you can hear a pin drop outside your room. It wasn’t so much of a problem for is but i can imagine it may be an issue for some. Beside we visited in the quite season and it wasn’t very busy.

A very cute and cozy house in a beautiful area of Nara park. There are some souvinere shops, cafes and restaurants near by. Lots of deer pass your door. The house is brand new, still smells like cedar wood, it was so clean when we arrived, big bed and shower. The people working were so helpful and accommodating. I can't wait to visit again! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to explore Nara park after all the crowds are gone!

Staff was super friendly, kind, considerate.
Room was clean, and modern.
Shared bathrooms were also clean and enough facilities were provided so you didn't feel like you had to wait long periods. We walked from the train station through Nara park ( you can and probably should take transit) but we found the walk entrancing and magical.

Lovely magical stay. Be kind to the deers please !

Fav place to stay in Nara so far, yes it's far from the station but it is SO worth it to wake up and look at the cute deers in the park !
We booked the private double room which was super clean, with a truly comfortable bed with windows looking towards the park.
Staff is very friendly and speaks good English if you don't speak Japanese.
Kitchen available also so you don't have to walk too far for a restaurant at night.

We stayed at the Mountain Home Lodge which is attached to the Deer Park Inn. It is beautiful. It has a seperate bathroom and is very private. The apartment was spotless.

I would highly recommended this property. The staff member upstairs at the deer Park inn was delightful and very helpful. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and walk out to see the deer with no one else around.

A great experience
