本山修験宗、聖護院門跡の末寺。
平安時代の八五九年、仁明天皇の第四の宮、人康親王を開山として創建され、この辺りが「四の宮」と呼ばれる所以となったといわれている。

徳林庵の少し奥にある。 背後を東海道線が走っており 結構賑やかだ。 境内は 樹木が少なく だだっ広い感じ。 建物も少なくて がらんとした 状態。
