This park is a green oasis in Hakurindai with walking trails through the forest and marshland. A glimpse into what the Obihiro landscape probably looked like before development. Nice area for jogging. Kids can use the small playground and hill for climbing.

西町公園は面積およそ9.3ヘクタールの地区公園として昭和48年から利用されており、開拓以前の帯広の風景をしのばせるカシワ、シラカバやエゾイタヤなどの原生林が茂る自然度の高い公園です。寒冷地の湿地ならではの光景である「やちぼうず」も園内のあらちこちらで見ることができます。公園内の散策路は、車いすやベビーカーでも通行しやすいように木道や舗装道路で整備されており、多くの方が利用しやすくなっています。

帯広競馬場の西隣にあります。
大きな公園ではありませんが、木々も多く木道もあって散策によい所です。リスに出会うこともあります。

本日は天気良く、小鳥もさえずり気もちもハッピーでした。公園内の遊歩道の除雪が悪いのでなんとかして下さい。
