I’m the spring, Dogo park is the perfect spot for a picnic. There are many cherry trees, lanterns, and food stalls to keep you happy and entertained during the spring. The park can be pretty crowded, but it was rainy when we visited, so we got to experience the area with fewer people. If you’re in the area, make sure to take a walk around the park and enjoy all of the trees!

Spring season, we visited Dogo Onsen and Dogo Park. Its late afternoon already and a lot of tourist, but i find the place so magical, the 100year old dogo onsen building.

And the park is so solemn, theres a food booth on the area, where you can buy a food.

You need to pay for the parking area.

A must visit place..

Absolutely gorgeous little park. Lots of birds, turtles and nice scenery to enjoy. We spent some wonderful hours here. Enjoyed watching a guy with a pigeon on a leash (!). Wildlife here seems to be quite the attraction, given the TV teams (!) competing with us amateurs for inner city wildlife and nature shots.

I really liked this park. Sitting inside the hut shaped structure when it was raining reminded me a lot like Garden of Words Anime and it was very beautiful and green and relaxing. Best time is summers.

My family’s favorite place in Matsuyama. My sons love to play in this place. And sometimes doing some sports like running or practicing to catch the ball. The park is huge. While the kids playing you can explore the other side if this park, the yuzuki castle ruins. You can find the diorama of samurai’s house in there. In spring, many people gathering hanami in this spot, and you can enjoy seeing blooming sakura. While enjoy some attraction in this place like traditional dance or someone playing traditional instruments.
If you like hiking, you can try “a small hiking” in the hill in this part. At the top of the hill, there is observatory. You can explore the diugo are in this place. Its easy to find matsuyama castle in this place also. If you like birds..you can find easily burd in this park. And if you like photography, just grab it your camera and take a shoot. So many flowers in here, from ume to sakura, magnolia. And in the pond there are turtles and koi. What a perfect mix.
At the end of year until January you can enjoy the illumination of Dougo in here. So many lampions from the pictures that the students from elementary school in dougo area present in here

It's a shame that if is covered but still a pretty area and the front of the building is still visible. So better than nothing.

It's a historic place but not so well known to people outside Japan. A beautiful park, as anywhere else in Japan. It has a small museum where you can learn about local life in the past.

Beautiful park, especially during Sakura season as there are many Sakura trees all over the park. Nice hilltop view of Dogo and Matsuyama area. Also a popular spot for events throughout the year. Last year they had cute Christmas lights hanging in trees that a local elementary school made.

I love this park! Always a happy scene with kids playing and people laughing. During winter they lit up the trees with these amazing beautiful colorful lights. There are herons and ponds and if you are a natural building buff you will really enjoy the on-site museums and demonstration vintage buildings. There are old Samurai residences and traditionally made picnic areas. There is an observation deck and very beautiful venerable old trees.

Beautifully composed little park beside the Dogo Onsen area. Many interesting trees and flowers carefully maintained. Make sure to walk all the way around as each side is quite different. Nice viewing platform where a castle once stood.
Some interesting minor historical features around the perimeter where moats once stood.
