Bakery & Cafe Pornic

This bakery is amazing! We went here three days in a row while staying in Tokyo. They have so many options for breakfast from egg/ham/cheese on soft pastry dough, giant cheese bread loaves filled with cheese, mochi donuts, hot dogs with cheese of the most amazing bread ever, hash brown patties, etc. All of the descriptions are in Japanese so just use Google translate if you don't read it but everything is pretty easy to figure out. The staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful. I really can't recommend this bakery enough. Everything was so good!

Amazing place. I would say more of a bakery than a cafe. They have tables but we got to go. My daughter gobbled up her wonderful pastry, filled with custard shaped like a huge cat paw, in seconds! My son loved the curry filled pastry that we shared. We also got some donuts and some bread. As a pastry chef myself in the states I can say everything was excellent and the staff pleasant and kind. Pastry and bread comes fresh out of the oven in the back and it is a lovely little place on a side street not far from the train station. We will back, probably tommorow!

Great little bakery with a wide selection of sweets and savories to pick from. All made and baked freshly in store. Eating some of this for breakfast is a fantastic way to start the day. The staff speak minimal English, but a quick game of charades never hurts. Plenty of seating available inside to get out of the cold. The pizza is so good, they were cooked to perfection and had such good flavors throughout. Definitely a good pick me up in a great location.

We were hard pressed to find any sort of American type breakfast (waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries, etc) at 9:00am in this area. We thought about eating a sandwich or fruit cup from the Lawson's, but glad we stumbled upon this place. Not American, but French pastries and oh so yummy! Everything looked good, was freshly baked, and inexpensive. A great choice for an early breakfast. It's probably going to be our go-to spot the whole time we're here. We had the chocolate bread, eggs salad sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, sourdough cheese bread, bacon bread, chocolate croissant, hash brown, and sumo bean bun. The inside of the chocolate croissant had an strange texture, but otherwise it tasted good and we loved our breakfast! *Edited: we have come back every day since my first review and discovered the Onion Bread. Oh my goodness! To die for. Best breakfast we've had since we've been here. They rotate what's on the shelves every day, so it's not there every time, but if you find it, it's gold. Yum!

We found this little bakery while wandering the area in a sleep deprived state on our first morning in Tokyo. Exceptionally friendly staff, good coffee and delicious, freshly baked breads and pastries. Particularly enjoyed the pale green hemispherical buns (like a melon flavoured brioche) and fab little chocolate filled creatures!

So good we bookended our trip to Japan by returning to Pornic on our last day.

Only discovered this for our last breakfast in the area and I wish we’d done so sooner.
Great baked goods and the clam chowder (yes, for breakfast) was top tier.

Best pastries I've had in japan so far. Every thing is so light, flakey and fresh! The coffee was good too. But be warned nothing is in English. I accidentally got plain black coffee but it was good enough to drink plain!

AMAZING! You guys have to give it a go if you pass by! This place is "PORNIC" for a reason and definitely lives up to its name. The place smells so good in the morning when we pass by so we end up waiting for them to open everyday... Bread was fluffy and the fillings were moist. My fav was definitely the custard bun... How am I going to live without Pornic Bakery...?

The bread here is a level above. Worth going a bit out of your way. Also the chocolate they use is better than average.

When you bite into the melon bread, it actually looks like a cantelope, at least as much as it is possible for bread to look like a melon.

This place is a hidden gem. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Try their tuna sandwich and an amazing melon bun for breakfast.

全般的にパンの生地が昭和の柔らかいパンの生地で非常に美味。

メロンパン、アンパンやドーナツなど、いろいろ食べましたがどれもおすすめです。

舞台鑑賞の為、両国へ。
時間が空いてどこかで休憩したくても、土曜日で駅近くの一休みできる場所は人でいっぱいだ。
そこで見つけたのがこのパン屋さん。
16:00頃入店。店内の飲食スペースは空いていた。
パンは夕方ゆえ種類は少ないもの、みんな美味しそうだ。
パンを選び、コーヒーを注文。先にお金を払い、準備が出来たら持ってきてくれた。
オニオンとチーズのパンは、本当に一口目で美味しくて驚いた。
コーヒーも疲れをとってくれた。

お店の話し方は優しかった。
外からは分かりづらいが、奥の方やトイレはとてもオシャレな感じがして、人を優しく迎え入れてくれる お店だと思った。

両国に来たら、また来ます。
