Hotel Tokino-sumika

This place is a local favorite. Whether you are going to the plethora of eateries, to enjoy the illuminations, or just for a simple stroll, Toki no Sumika is a place you rarely get tired of checking out every once in a while.

For me it was a random found, but what a lovely place filled with a variety of things to see and food to try. Illumination was mesmerizing and very beautiful. In different areas of the premises, there are different outdoor settings which look great. A must visit place, great for all ages. Kids will definitely enjoy!

Went here for the illumination event. It was spectacular!!! First time I went to one as a family. I never saw so many lights before. My 2 yr old daughter loved it. She kept running around and pointing at things.

Great place to see if you are around Shizuoka prefecture ☺ The illumination is for free, but you to go to the highlight (fountain show, rides and more) there's a fee (1,000¥ adults, cheaper for kids). They currently have an exhibit of the zodiac signs!

Cons: The roads leading up to this place tend to be congested specially this season.

The Hotel Brush Up was built around 2004 and I had the pleasure of staying there right after it was built. My first room had never been stayed in and smelled new. Today around 14 years later the rooms are still super clean, the hotel is quiet, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is really good. The rooms are small, but that's the point in a business hotel in Japan. I always try to stay at the Brush Up when in Gotemba.

I literally played basketball for like hours and then relaxed in the hot tub. Had great time with my family. The Viking was good especially if you go at the early times when there are less people. There was a college soccer team on a training camp.

Very nicely lication for vacation but need to drive. The view is great! Facing Fuji mountain.

It’s really a wonderland of lights…The illumination forest and the tunnel of lights are very beautiful and the musical fountain is fabulous

Great food, great view, I've stayed here many times and always enjoyed my stay. They even had love sized Sean the Sheep stuffed animals for the kids to sleep with.

Very spacious for outdoor activities. Summer days are hot but the evenings are cool and dry

Very interesting place to spend time with friends and family. The illumination starts from 4:30pm during winter time.

I have been here many times,their Staffs are nice i loved the foods especially the Pizza Margharita and the beer❤
