Hozukyō Station

This is a hidden gem between the main tourist trail of Arashiyama and the slow scenic rail. If you have the Kansai JR West Pass, alight here for a quiet time. There is a road leading to the scenic rail spot.

The most beautiful station I've ever been to in Kyoto. I'm headed to the Hozugawa River Boat Tour when I stumble upon this train station; the boat tour was cancelled, and the romantic train was my next option but fully booked.

I decided to make a quick stop here. Breathtaking views. You will see from afar where the train tracks of the Sagano romantic train are. Best to see during the autumn.

Absolutely nothing to do here, but i’d recommend getting off the train here, have a short walk on both platforms and catch the next train while you’re enjoying the view.

Most naturally beautiful train station I've ever been to! I accidentally ended up here after missing the train station stop for the famous bamboo forest. I'm so glad I missed the stop because the views from here was definitely worth the extra 10 minutes waiting for the next train!

Visited the station after rafting down from Umahori. As far as I know there is pretty much nothing around but the scenery is absolutely stunning with the river, valleys, and occasional fog. There is a bathroom and no staff. I'm guessing fall or winter is another good time to visit with the autumn leaves or snow.

You still have chance to see great view!
Only 4min ride from JR Saga Arashiyama station, get off at JR Hozukyo station.
Enjoy great view while waiting the train and go back to Arashiyama or even until JR Kyoto station taking the train going back.

I forgot to get off at the previous station, which is the one close to Arashiyama, but it was a great surprise to find this station, it is surrounded by mountains and the river passes below, the view surprised me.

Missed my stop and changed trains at this station. Was treated to the most beautiful station I visited in Japan. Lush green hills and beautiful mountain river flowing below the bridge that the station was located on. Such a relaxing location, I wasn't concerned when the next train would arrive.

Over the bridge is Hozukyo Station of JR Sagano Line. You can also get direct access to here. There is aloso a bus service that goes back and forth from Mizuo. Nice view.

It’s a good starting point for hiking, I think, for Yuzu Village and Mt. Atago, or for Kyotaki River and Toriimoto Preserved Road. Now snowing; very scenic and wonderful!

京都駅からたったの20分でアクセスができる。京都市街のビル群は見当たらないギャップのある駅。夜に行くと外灯はほとんど見当たらない。自然の美味しい空気を吸えて気分が良くなりました。

ノープランのまま、走っていた際にたまたま見つけました👍
良いのか悪いのか、無人駅でした。構内に入っても良いのか？迷いましたが、入っちゃいました。ホームから見た景観は、山に咲いた桜🌸だったり、眼下に見下ろした渓流もとても良かった😆　残念なのは、改札口前の看板への落書き⤵😩　経路は兎に角、狭くてカーブ多目のアップダウンが続く道ですが、それも楽しみつつ訪れてみて。

無人駅です。近くの心霊スポット巡りで来たけど自然が良いところです。

関西ではトップクラスの秘境駅。
あるのは駅前に駐車場とバス乗り場と美しい自然だけ。
秘境駅とはいえ、京都駅から２０分程で到着。特急や快速は通過するけど、各駅停車が１時間辺り３往復運行されているので行きやすい秘境駅です。
無人駅ながら、券売機とICカードは利用出来ます。
亀山方面行きホームは嵯峨野観光鉄道トロッコ列車の撮影スポットです。

お花見の時期、ここはとても良い
ベンチ、トイレあり。ゴミ箱もあり
人は少なくて、行き帰りにも駅直結で心配なし

保津峡駅が面白かった。駅はほぼ保津峡の橋の上にあり、ホーム上に駅舎がなく西の端まで歩いていくと、階段で降りて行けるようになっておりそこに無人の自動改札機が置いてあった。改札を出るとバス停もあり乗り継ぎが良い。山のど真ん中から京都駅まであっと言う間に戻ることができるだろう。

山深い谷の中にある秘境の駅。
今も観光列車が通っていますが、昔は山陰へ向かう列車が通る本線だったノスタルジーを感じれます。
駅前から吊橋を渡っても細い道があるだけで人里へは歩いては行けません(ハイキングで歩く方はいらっしゃいます)
運が良ければ写真のトロッコ列車や下に流れるラフティングや保津川下りの舟から手を振る方を見れます。

JR山陰本線(嵯峨野線)の駅。
桂川を渡る橋梁に相対式のホームがあり、四方を山に囲まれた立地。京都市内とは思えないほどの大自然を味わうことができ、ホームから眺める桂川は絶景です。周囲には人家はおろか人工物はほとんどありませんが、県道を通じてトロッコ保津峡駅まで歩いていくことができます。
