It's one of the best aquariums! There were many unique marine lifes that I had never seen or known before. Also, many shows are prepared. There's no time to get bored. I feel here the souvenirs are cheap and reasonable prices. Not too many people in the aquarium. Therefore, you can have much better views or spaces. The staff, here, are very nice too. Strongly recommend

It is a pretty big aquarium with lots of sections.

There are some pretty unique animals which you don't see in other aquariums. I think some of the most famous animals here are, sea otters (my kids love them), manatees, and walruses.

My personal favorite is the Monster Lab, weird creatures, and freak of nature.

I think you will need at least 3-4 hours to enjoy the aquarium and watch all of the shows.

Highlight of the trip to Mie ✨ Toba Aquarium is one of the must go spots on the free entry list of the Kintetsu super passport 近鉄伊勢・鳥羽・志摩スーパーパスポート“まわりゃんせ”. Not only seeing sea otters May and Kira but also knowing more about other marine life. It is suggested to study the food feeding / performance schedule before you visit and arrive earlier on the venue for a seat. If you love marine life, you can probably spend 4 hours here and utilise the pass to visit other nearby spots, such as the Toba Bay Cruise trip and Mikimoto Museum. Since it takes time to buy a ticket at the entrance, you may buy it online so to enter faster~

You probably found this place after looking for sea otters in a museum. They have different feeding times where it's a show for the guests. If you're those that get utterly disgusted by the idea of animals in captivity, then maybe skip this place, this is an aquarium not a reserve. But if you'll enjoy a chance to see marine life that you may otherwise never get to see in your life, please go. The other varieties are also very much worth seeing. The place has 2 restaurants inside that provide affordable food so no need to worry about BYOF. Do prepare for the idea that you'll stand quite a bit as the viewing area has seats that are mostly occupied already by the very well prepared and timed locals. If you'll be staying in the local vicinity, remember to get tickets in your hotel first as you'll skip the queue there.

The best aquarium I have been to in any country and would highly recommend going here!!

Loads of different animals and not just fish.

Very wheelchair friendly.

The main difference between this and any other is it has
Shell section
Skeleton section
Stuffed animal bodies

lovely day spent at toba aquarium! we managed to see everything we wanted, including the sea lion show, walrus petting and penguin walkby.

we bought our tickets at the door at 9:30am and there was no queue.

we spent roughly 5 hours here including a quick stop for lunch and felt it was an appropriate amount of time spent at the aquarium.

there’s so many species we hadnt seen before in UK and european aquariums, it was definitely worth visiting just to see these animals ! such as the dugong, finless porpoises ans commersons dolphins !

we visited on a weekend so there were more children than i assume are usually there but it was still not so busy that you couldn’t move around at a good pace

Great aquarium despite the trains shutting down on the way there. Really cool to see so many different species playing around and handlers having live interaction with the animals too.

Large aquarium with tons of stuff from all over the world. Sea Otters are the stars. Be there at opening (have your tickets bought online in advance) to get in for the first feeding. Lots to see… spent 6hrs there.

Amazing and welcoming place. I can not imagine a way not to enjoy the aquarium. Friends, family, or even date. It is interesting both for kids and adults. It is like an all in one place. Lots of different animals to see, delightful
Enjoyment and food available. Souvenirs shops. Impressive animals shows. The place is all designed to provide entertainment.

May-chan saved my soul during the pandemic. I watched tons of their videos and those saved me from countless depressing moments in 2020 and 2021.
I’m so happy to finally get to see you in person.
I truly appreciate all staff for providing quality care to the animals. Especially to the sea otters.

I went with my 8yo and 10yo. It is a fun facility for a whole day to enjoy. The sea otters room was really crowded, but aside from that, the museum is very spacious and we could take our time even on the weekend.

There is a room with a collection of strange creatures, temporary exhibits, etc. My kids were happy to see capybaras, clione, and giant sowbug.

The scenery from the rooftop was nice too.

Lots of fish and animals that you can only see here!
The two sea otters are my favorite, but other animals like sea lions and walruses are super cute too! And they are all good entertainers. You will definitely enjoy yourself.

Love this aquarium - we came all the way from Seattle to visit - they had a good english map to offer, and several chance to interact with sea creatures - particularly liked being able to shake hands with the small Tako and have tiny fish nibbling our fingers. Seeing Capybara and the Fishing Cat were a welcome surprise, unexpected at an aquarium. Spent the whole day here and found plenty of fun things to do and see.

Maybe you will think the ticket price is quite expensive, but compared to another country's aquarium, you won't feel disappointed when coming here. The aquarium he's various kinds of fish and marine. if you have time you should go in the morning to try on the show of the aquarium. noticed that the aquarium closes at 5 PM.

Got to see cute AND scary animals. Was also surprised by how big some of the animals were. The aquarium is a good place to educate children of the marine animals.

I have visited 20+ aquariums and this is by far THE BEST!
I stayed for 4 hours and didn't even sit down or saw any shows. It is huge! Moreover, there are many species that I have never seen before. The place obviously is a few years old but the actual animals and tanks are extremely well taken care of. On another note, there are vending machines all through the place and the price of drinks is cheaper than in the city.
I definitely recommend going and it is worth the 2500en price tag. Will be back.

Nice cruise around the Island to get here. I went in the autumn so it was quite cold and windy. The only disappointment was that I waited all day to interact with the dolphins but was only allowed "one touch". The staff I met were too robotic, especially working with animals.
But saying that I feel bad for the animals caged up in narrow spaces made to entertain us, I hope one day they can be set free, quite narrow pool.

Amazing encounter with very interesting sea creatures.. lots of varieties of sea and land creatures to see and learn. Need at least 3 hours or more. Several performances - walrus show, penguin walk, sea lion performance.
Great place for kids...

This is a very good place to visit with your family. There are a number of amazing sea creatures that will amaze you. The ticket is 2.500 yen. But it was worth it. I spent a meaningful time here learning about sea animals. The place is divided into alphabetical sections, so, you will not miss anything. Just start from A, B, C and so on. It was fun!!!!
