Stayed for two nights in the western-Japanese style rooms, with private bath.
What a truly amazing experience for first time Ryokan style stay.

The view from our room was breathtaking, the room itself was well kept, and the staff were very attentive and happy to explain how we would best enjoy our stay.

A kaiseki meal is served, and such a unique experience. It was clear they had put great effort into choosing the dishes, and it was wonderful to sample so many different flavours.
The waitstaff took time to explain the dishes, which was appreciated for this Aussie visitor. My only issue with the meal was that it’s way too much food! 😄

I have to admit, I was hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews of this place but I truly didn’t have any issue with my stay and would consider again.

Never had such a great experience in my life. The personal was so welcoming, helpful and warm ! The food was so interesting and nice. Each ingredient was so fresh and tasty, I will come back to Aura Tachibana for sure if I come back to Japan ! First experiencing public and private baths, it was so amazing and relaxing. Everything was so clean. Arigato minasan !!

The room was big also can see the view from balcony. And we booked adults only building so it was very quiet and peaceful. Very good choice to enjoy the onsen.

The breakfast and dinner was also very nice, very tasty and healthy. The staff named Chen , taiwanese ( i think he is an intern) was very friendly. Really recommend!!

Reserved a room with breakfast and dinner. Every meal has different offerings and is definitely very filling. The onsen hits the spot and has long opening hours. Went during the cold season and definitely felt comfortable staying there. There are shuttle services to and fro the nearest train station.

It is our second time staying here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The kaiseki dinners and breakfast were awesome. The private onsen bath is superb. We will definitely stay here again if we travel to hakone.

Incredible place to stay with great views, nice food, attentive staff with fluent English, and an amazing onsen both inside your room and the public one too. The negative reviews are so weird because it doesn’t even sound like we were staying in the same hotel. Everything has been seriously great and I’d definitely come back here again.

Excellent accommodation with 5 star hospitality. Felt like a 5* Hotel. Had half board and the food was great. We had a private onsen and the view is wonderful

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed by their excellent service. The staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating throughout my entire stay, ensuring a comfortable experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the dining options; both dinner and breakfast were exceptional.

We love this onsen hotel. We stayed in mid november and booked the private onsen adult only room. Its in the new block.
When reached Yamoto station, information counter is just opposite bridge (many people take bus there), ask the staff to call and the green charter bus came 5mins. Hotel entrance is located in small lane and windy, must take the charter don't attempt to walk from station.
The entrance looks old but inside is modern and classy and fairly new. Don't be fooled by the old exterior look and give it a try.

Onsen:
Private onsen temperature can be adjusted. The onsen water really cure my dry skin and my eczema sensitive was gone during the onsen period, its definitely authentic onsen.
There is vending machines with alcohol at the adult block.
Noise insulation is good, we only occasionally hear noises from the open balcony, but once we closed the doors its fine.
There is a private onsen at the roof top for renting which overlook the mountain great view.

Room:
It is spacious, once the futon was lay down there is still some space to walk around. I love the huge dressing room and wooden flooring is comfy. Only problem is the air-con is heater mode and we don't know how to adjust so we end up open the windows a little bit.

Dining:
I don't know why there are previous not good reviews, but our experience is superb and great. We are especially pleased with the dining service staff Stacey on our first night dinner for her detailed service, she will serve us drinks etc even before we asked. The service makes a difference and I leave a thank you note to the hotel when I left. The food is great and so many choices. Its worth the money.

Service in general:
Staff service is great. Although some of the staff may not know much English, they have several staff who can speak and know English and will handle our issues. During check in, guests will sit down on a table while a English rep will explain and even personally bring us to our room. Very personalised service.

Its a great experience and must do it!!

I stayed at Aura Tachibana in Hakone for an overnightstay with my wife, and we had a wonderful time.

The hotel is located on a hilltop, offering a stunning view of the mountains and the town. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony and a private open-air bath, The bath was filled with natural hot spring water which was soothing and relaxing. We enjoyed soaking in the bath.

The food was also amazing. The hotels Japanese restaurant offered a kaiseki multi-course meal with local and seasonal dishes. They were very accommodating to my wife's dietary preferences, and prepared vegetarian dishes for her, our hostess also spoke great English. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious, using fresh ingredients.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they spokegood English. They provided a free shuttle service to and from Hakone Yumoto Station, which was convenient.

We had a memorable stay at Aura Tachibana, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and
luxurious getaway in Hakone.

It was worth every dollar, and we would love to come back again.

What a wonderful hotel. Incredible rooms and views. Breakfast was awesome. Some tourists need to have cultural decency. That was a wonderful breakfast. Two british tourists ruined the meal because they lacked decency and laughed at a waiter bringing them their food.

Cute ryokan with our own private onsen which has a view of Hakone town and some mountains.

Traditional Japanese dinner was provided but it tasted a little too healthy for my liking. They also gave us yukatas which we could wear to dinner and around the ryokan.

The room I got came with 2 single tatami separated by a table even though it was meant to be a couple room, future guests might wanna check with the hotel if they have couple beds.

I was genuinely heartbroken when it was time to check out of Aura Tachibana. This was the most pleasant hotel experience I've ever had. Impeccable service, including being served a cup of tea as you check in, and offering a shuttle to and from Hakone-Yumoto Station upon arrival and departure.

The onsen are a dream, they ease all stresses and pains. I could stay in there for hours. The breakfast and dinner offerings are culinary delights, with high-quality ingredients and authentic regional flavours. And the mountain air is gorgeous and refreshing. I can't wait to return!

My partner and I had an amazing experience here at the hotel. We booked the open-air bath, with breakfast and dinner. It was AMAZIN! We loved how you can change the temperature of the hot spring, clean the room is and SUPER friendly staffs are! The food was delicious and very memorable! I highly recommend booking a room with an open-air bath! Also highly recommend to take the taxi or call the hotel to arrange pick up at Yumoto station!

Ryokan experience like how it’s featured on Japan Hour. Food was fantastic, in room onsen was heavenly with great views of the surrounding hills. Service was also top notch akin to 5 star hotel, nothing short of a 5 star ryokan!

Fabulous, relaxing hotel. We spent 2 nights here, and had a room with mountain view and open air bath. The staff and service were brilliant. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor baths are brilliant for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The food in the restaurant was very good, I was not expecting a 10 course meal each night!

This is my first time ever in Japan and they made our stay an amazing one. All the staff was very friendly and polite. I knew very little Japanese and was worried about communications but it all went well! We were seated in the waiting area once we have arrived in the hotel and we were greeted with green tea while they check us in. One of the staff member personally went through the floors with us verbally and walked us to our room, helping us carry our small carry-on. The room was very tidy; it doesn't look as modern as we thought it would be but it does have a more vintage look to it. We booked our rooms with breakfast and dinner inclusive which I highly recommend to get when you are doing your booking because the food was delicious! The dinner was a 9 course menu with dessert. They were very thoughtful to have the menu lay out in English. You can tell the details the chef out into each dish. Overall, I would give this hotel a 5 star. Price was fair and customer service was excellent. Loved it!

Very well-staffed and friendly. Employees could communicate basic information in English, which was really helpful. Looked like a 24/7 phone interpreting service was also available, but we did not need this. The room was quite spacious. The (semi) private bath has a decent view if you choose to pay and RSVP for it, and there are a number of public baths to choose from. Dinner consisted of a 9-course meal, which was quite delicious and filling. Similarly, there was a good selection for breakfast too. Would stay again.

This is a wonderful Japanese ryokan. You can get rooms with a private onsen in the balcony, and there is also an amazing rooftop onsen (with additional payment).
The most awesome part about the ryokan, is the service you get. For example, in rainy days, the staff follow you from the taxi/shuttle with umbrellas!
You also get a very unique Japanese traditional breakfast and dinner, that usually costs a lot of money.

If you want to experience how the Japanese relax, away from the bustle of the modern metropolis, then come to Aura Tachibana. It is a spa hotel with public and private baths (onsen) for hire on the roof terrace as well as having some stone basins on terraces for the rooms. Elaborate set meals are provided for dinner and breakfast. Kaiseki ryori - beautifully presented with numerous courses to offer stewed, broiled, steamed, boiled grilled and raw food. The rooms are traditional Japanese with low futon style beds (great for people who like firm mattresses) and some rooms have Western style sofas and chairs whilst others are more traditional. Most people wander around in the robes, jackets and sandals provided, even for meals, although it is not compulsory. The staff are charming, polite and attentive. The hotel is traditional and not ostentatious but it is comfortable and calm. The views (especially from the roof) out over the town and surrounding hills are wonderful and it is a pleasant stroll downhill, over the bridge into the town or to visit the shrine. Very easy transport (hotel has a courtesy bus and train is on line to direct link to bullet trains from
