Otaru Tap Room - Craft Beer & Hostel

Nice little cozy craft beer bar good for both travelers and locals. Great selection of Japanese craft beer with ever changing menu. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about Japanese craft beer. I will definitely stop again if I’m ever back in Otaru. No comment about the hostel as I only stopped by for beers and did not stay overnight.

Stayed in tatami room. Just two bed, the bare minimum to charge your phone and sleep for the night. The shared area is really nice. Location is good, 15 minutes walk to JR Otaru Station. The room comes with a free draft beer in the tap room.

A great selection of beers, the senbei flavoured beer in particular was very interesting. Slightly on the pricey side but a nice place to come and chat with others. The staff were very friendly.

Cozy place, good music and friendly staff. The beer list is small but very tasty and they have a beer fridge that has a good selection. Loved this place.

I came to Otaru for Ramadhan Praying,
But unfortunately Ramadhan start from the next day
I choose Otaru Tap Room coz is really near the Otaru Masjid.
The room was good, but really cold for me who really cant handle winter.
Overall its amazing stay in Otaru Tap Room.

Cool hipster hostel with tabroom attached.
Maybe not ideal if you’re sensitive to noise.
Otherwise awesome place and very clean.

I spent two days staying here, the amazing atmosphere and the chilling feelings are the most appealing part of this hostel. It’s truly a warm-hearted place for a passenger, highly recommend it for anyone who wants to spend a couple days just chilling in Otaru.

Absolutely loved this little gem. A bar in the hostel, but boy the selection will make a separate specialty venue envious. Beautifully curated taps and packed fridge. A must visit for beer livers in Otaru

Really cool place and people! I got a free "welcome beer" brewed by the namesake of the hostel. The owners included myself and other guests in a takoyaki-making dinner. Beds were comfortable and facilities were clean.

Fantastic selection of beers that is always changing. Amazing food all made fresh there. Hostel rooms are warm and clean. It's hostel living, no frills, but everything is orderly and cozy. Highly recommend coming for a drink and food... and, if you're okay staying in a hostel, must place to stay!

Talking about bar: the owner is enough nice. Not intrusive. If she had the feeling you wanna talk, she does. She is nice and enough friendly. Beer is good. Nothing to say. I visited during corona time, so she had only 3 tap instead of 6. But that makes sense. If you take out beer there is a big discount. Place is also nice, old building with much light. Love it. If you visit Otaru and you like craft or rare beer, you must visit. I will go there again when I go Otaru.

They have 6 drafts in tap. I went with the flight of 4 beers and was impressed. Beer is priced at Japanese rates, but the quality was top notch. The service there is excellent. The place has a great character to enjoy.

Comfortable hostel with beds that have curtains for privacy. Very good place to meet local people, they have so many different beers and also serve food. Definitely come here if you are in otaru, you will have a good time.

Lovely guest house at a reasonable price. The room and shared shower room were clean and neat. The bar at the front has some nice draft beers that are excellent to have after shower.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and great ever-changing menu of beers. I haven't stayed at the hostel, but have heard it's nice and clean.

just visited for the craft beer and what a nice little place worth the trip!! very comfy atmosphere with a good selection of beers at a reasonable price, absolutely recommend. can't wait to come back again

I was staying in this hostel. Good location- in centrum, lovely personal, clean and cozy rooms, warm atmosphere, tasty beer!!!
