北吉田駅は旧吉田町の北部にある越後線の無人駅です。SuicaやICOCA等の交通系ICカードが利用できます。切符の販売がないため現金で支払う際は乗車駅証明書を発券して、電車最後尾にいる車掌から切符を購入するか、下車した駅です精算する必要があります。

It was my first time in this station and it was a station with no station employee, you will just tap your card if you use card or put your ticket at the ticket box when you arrived. And if you will ride from there, you have to get a ticket from the ticketing machine and you will pay at your destination. They have a waiting area just near.

駅自体ではなく利用者の問題ですが、
駐車スペースは6台分ありますがそこが空いているにもかかわらず、迎えの車が駅前広場に縦列駐車する様子が目立ちます。
悪い時は3列縦隊となり、正規の駐車スペースに停めることが出来ないほどになっています。
