WunderBar Stevie's (ワンダバー スティーヴィーズ)

We sought out this place after the positive reviews. It was nothing like the negative reviews for us. The owner was very welcoming and explained the cover charge (which wasn't a surprise as we've come across this before in Japan). Enjoyed a few drinks and friendly chat with the owner and enjoyed the soul music. It's a quirky place and well worth seeking out. You need to spot the entrance and take lift to the 5th floor.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and entertaining. His music sets were on point and at some occasions he even sang! The drinks are reasonably priced and interestingly, he streams all of his music sets, although you aren't really included if you don't want to be.

The bar is quite hidden away like many of Japan's drinking establishments but this is definitely one to search out.

I love this little bar. It's hard to find so it's a little hidden gem. The owner is fanatical about vinyl funk and soul music and will happily DJ for you as you sit at the piano keyboard bar under the lights from the disco ball. What's not to like about that?

Excellent vibes. A kind bartender who speaks some English and has a deep love for soul music. The drinks are great and the music is greater. If you are someone who loves soul music, you’ll feel right at home.

The owner Kumagai was so welcoming to me. I loved him and his cool funk/soul records. I had such a memorable time at ーStevie's. Try the Hiroshima gin!

Very cozy little bar in Hiroshima. The owner has a huge collection of funk records and is a really nice guy to talk to. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Phenomenal! When we turned up, it was closed, but the waiter from next door called Stevie, and he came and opened up for us - great tunes and decent drinks all night!

アナログレコードのR&Bサウンドをお酒を飲みながら最高の音で聴くことができるバーです。ソウル、ダンスミュージック好きの方にぜひ。その他の音楽ジャンルが好きな方も新しい扉を開いてみてはどうでしょうか！

雑居ビルの5Fというなかなか分かりづらい場所にありますが、ブラックミュージック好きなら探してでも訪ねて欲しいナイスBAR。フレンドリーなマスターの選曲はソウル～ディスコのLPが中心。かける曲はどれもブラックネス溢れるグルーヴがあり、ついつい体が揺れてしまう。なおかつ定番曲ばかりをかけるありがちなソウルBARとは違い、CDオンリーで発売されている近年の新譜や和物もしっかりチェックされていてるのも良い。常連さん達も皆フレンドリーで、初めて1人で訪ねましたがとても楽しく過ごせました。

ソウルミュージックに詳しくない自分でしたが、居心地良く、楽しく過ごせました！

店名のとうり、ソウルミュージックが中心のショットバー。5000枚以上のレコード保有数を誇り、ドリンクもリーズナブルで種類も豊富。毎月、何らかのイベントを企画し、１人でも気軽に楽しめる。広島では有名なマスターのDJが見所の一つ。

広島を代表するソウルバー。
地元の友人に初めて連れて行ってもらった時は、その居心地の良さと選曲の素晴らしさに感動したものだ。

東京ではソウルバーに行くこともないので、出張の度にその友人とはしご酒の途中に寄ることが多かったように思う。
マスターのお人柄も素敵だったなあ。

定年退職後は地方出張もなくなったため、スティービーズを訪れる機会もなくなったが、独り旅でもする機会があれば件の友人を誘って訪れてみるか。

広島の夜がこんなにも楽しいのかと驚いてから、毎年2回の訪広を決め、Stevie’sに行くことだけを目的に羽田から飛んで行きます。高い天井にキラキラとミラーボールの光の星が流れ、JBLモニターからは大音量で極上の曲の数々がたたみかけます。音楽好きが泣き、笑い、絶叫、果ては大合唱までさせてしまうオーナーDJクマさんの音のおもてなしは、初めて来たひとりのひとでも、ソウルミュージックに詳しくないひとでも、得もいわれぬ居心地の良さにお酒が知らず識らずのうちにすすんでしまうことでしょう。気をつけて下さい。ハマっちゃいますよ！
