Senkoji Temple

A walk back in time with adorable Hidden stairwells and alleyways.... I think more quaint and somewhat more enjoyable than Kyoto..which can seem overwhelming. Go and lose yourself in the myriad of walkways and paths...

The best view in a lovely place.
One of the highlight of Onomichi (with the bike ride toward shikoku and the food 😁)
Great view for everyone (i walked up the stairs but there is a cable car).
The gardens (in small terraces) along the way are very relaxing and romantic. The temple is nice too but the view is everything.
I went there during hanami, it’s even better but even outside outside of hanami i should be good.

Beautiful hillside temple with interesting statues, structures and great views of Onomichi harbor and town below. You can walk up in about 15 minutes or take the cable car up.

The views from this area are absolutely beautiful, during the day and the night. Highly recommended.

This place is stunning! We had pictures taken here during Cherry Blossom season and it was incredible.

Perhaps a bit crowded but very lovely and welcoming. The views are spectacular. During corona many statues are masked and it is a sweet gesture.

Gorgeous views near the top of a beautiful walk. I loved this place and took a lot of photographs. While I wasn't there with a lover, I would recommend this area highly for couples because it's a romantic place. Go very early in the morning for beauty, peace, and a spiritual uplift.

Beautiful temple

Good place for some walking with beautiful views. You can see Onomichi, the sea and the numerous islands between Honshu and Shikoku from there.

Fabulous views up the top, overlooking Onomichi. The walk around the top is also nice and the temple is pretty cool. This is definitely worth a visit if you have time in Onomichi.

Onomichi may be far no matter your settlement in Hiroshima or Osaka. But when you climb up by hill by ropeway and you will see spectacular harbour, it's worth

Temple in the rain is still very beautiful. The view is quite different from sunny day.
