Great steak restaurant I've been going to for years. All the food comes with a salad/houerdurve, soup, rice, main course and dessert. The steak is excellent and cooked to perfection along with great detail in the plating. You will spend some money but well worth it.

My dining experience at Steak Salon was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into the charming restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. With its intimate ambiance and cozy seating arrangements – a single large table for four and a spacious round counter with around ten seats – it felt like a hidden culinary gem.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the live cooking spectacle performed by the talented chef behind the counter, reminiscent of teppanyaki dining. I opted for the special fillet steak accompanied by succulent scallops, while my husband indulged in the premium beef lemon steak.

Each course was meticulously prepared and presented, starting with a refreshing salad boasting an array of fresh fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, oranges, cucumbers, lettuces, and tomatoes. The corn soup was a delightful starter, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.

The main dishes were nothing short of perfection. My fillet steak was incredibly tender, cooked to absolute precision, and paired exquisitely with the heavenly scallops that seemed to melt in my mouth. My husband’s premium beef lemon steak was equally impressive, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.

To conclude the meal, we were treated to a homemade caramel pudding drizzled with mango sauce, accompanied by two small servings of vanilla and strawberry sherbet ice creams. It was the perfect ending to a memorable dining experience.

I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable steak dining experience in Sasebo. Reservations in advance can be made through their Facebook page, and please note that they accept cash only.

Cozy and fun with small menu of delicious steaks. A Sasebo institution, reservations highly recommended. Try the lemon steak, cooked to perfection. If I'm ever in Sasebo again, this will be my 1st stop.

Best steak I have ever had, hands down. They only have 1 table and some bar type seating. Reservation is a must. When I order the châteaubriand steak they didn't ask how I wanted it only that it was the meal. Came with 4 courses; salad, soup, main, dessert. It melted in my mouth. Best money spent on a steak. RESERVATION IS A MUST!!!

Amazing food at Steak Salon. They have 10 seats available at the counter and 1 table that can seat 4. The table is available by reservation. Reservations are recommended but if you get there early when they open you can usually get a seat. Place is a bit pricey but worth it. The attached pictures shows the 'French Dinner' set.

Absolutely the best meal I have had here in Sasebo. Excellent and extremely friendly service highlighted a beautifully prepared meal of 5 courses. The salad with beef and fresh fruit topped with three different dressings all complimenting each other was a meal by itself. The soup was creamed corn based and topped with cream and pepper. The entrée was a perfectly seared scallop, a huge prawn, a half of a lobster, wonderful vegetables, and a perfectly cooked sirloin beef that was tender and cooked in a bath of butter. The dessert was two small scoops of ice cream and flan with an orange sauce. Coffee with cream finished off the meal. If you find yourself in Sasebo, you need to make sure to make this a stop for dinner.

Famous lemon 🍋 steak shop. Splurged and got wagyu lemon steak. Glad to be back here after 15 years. same delicious steak!

Phenomenal. Not a place that will be around forever. Literally the definition of what one would call a mom and pop restaurant. Everything that you are served is made with the utmost passion a dedication.

A family owned small and cozy steak house that will take you to France with a chef mastering his dishes right in front of you. Lemon steak was really nice and came with soup, salad, rice, veggies, desert and a coffee to finish up the night. We had a wonderful time!

This might be the best chateaubriand steak in Sasebo. The restaurant is very small, but the service is fast and the steak is excellent. I can't wait to return.

The best food I have ever ate! Get reservations for large groups! They start setting up in the late afternoon.

A bit dated atmosphere, but it gets a pass because 100% of their budget seems to go into making the food absolutely perfect. I ate here the first time back in 2002, and the menu hasn't changed much. That said, the food is already spectacular so no reason to fix what already works. A must visit in Sasebo!

It's a family owned small restaurant. One table and maybe 10 seats at the counter. All menu with rice, salad, dessert and coffee. The salad had various fruits, we had apple, kiwi, persimmon and orange with carrot dressing. The steak is so tender and the steak sauce is not sweet soy sauce based and soooo good. The price is so reasonable, you'd pay 3 times more if you eat the same thing in Tokyo.
They sell the steak sauce and dressing if you like it. I highly recommend the restaurant!

Oishi!!!!! The garlic steak set was filling and delicious! The next visit, we will try the special menu set which includes seafood. A must dine-in when in Sasebo. Oh, if it's your first time, the property is cash only.

Amazing as always. Such a great little gem in Sasebo. I had the sirloin set meal. The squash soup was fantastic. I usually het the tenderloin and the sirloin was thinner than I'm used to, but perfectly prepared, slight crisp outside nice and rare / medium rare inside. So good! Get there while you can. And get a reservation.

We first visited the Steak Salon 9 years ago when we stationed here the first time. It was our favorite date spot for 2 years. When we transfered away I thought I would spend the rest of my life pining for the mouth-wateringly tender steak. Here we are, stationed in Sasebo for the second time and I cannot express my joy at being able to sit at their table again.

I love being able to sit at the curved table surrounding the kitchen and watch the chef at work. The food is delicious and consists of 4 courses. I can't wait for the next occasion I get to visit again.

Absolutely amazing quality food at an affordable price. You can get one of the cheaper steaks for 2500 yen which still includes; a salad, corn soup, rice, the steak, a dessert, and a nice cup of coffee at the end. It is rather popular so if you intend to seat more than 2 people I suggest you make a reservation.

This place is so expensive I've only ever been once but by god is it delicious. We had the three (?) course meal that came with steak and dessert. I don't remember much other than how good it was and the price as I was about 12 at the time and that was 13 years ago.

If you have the money, hit this place up. You will need reservations though because it's so popular.

I have been to the Steak Salon several times over a several year period. I eat there at least one time every time I am in Sasebo. If this restaurant was near my home I would definitely be a regular customer.

Everything on the menu is a complete meal. Today's had a salad with fresh fruit, squash soup, the garlic steak, potato, and green beans, a sherbet for desert and a cup of coffee all for 2,500 Yen. I also had a 1.0 liter beer for 600 Yen so my total was 3,300 Yen or $31.00.

They prefer cash and will also take U.S. dollars at the present exchange rate.

Try it if you are in town. You will not be disappointed.
