There isn’t any active cafe right now. The owner is with some English and lay back. He is making some small-scale cheese smoking on the ground floor.

The guest rooms are mostly on the 3rd floor, possibly a few on second. We were placed in a big room on the 3rd floor. The staircases are squeaky, narrow, and steep. The guest kitchen is equipped with full utensils for cooking, fridge, microwave & toaster. 1 bathroom & toilet separated. We were lucky to be the only guests for both nights. Otherwise, you will definitely hear all the sounds from other rooms and have to share 1 bathroom & 1 toilet.

The whole place feels old, a little run down, a little messy and not typical japanese level of cleanliness. A few rules that are not common, such as there're signs everywhere that men must not stand while taking pee and no morning shower before 11 am. Though we were allowed to take showers at 830am. On the day of our departure after I talked to him. The room has no curtain to cover the windows, when the sun is up at 530am, the room is pretty bright soon after.

3 mins walk to Asso train station. 2 medium size supermarkets within 5 to 10 mins walking distance. A few good Chinese restaurants are nearby. 200 yen per day if you have a car. We were not aware of this rule when we booked, though it was a small fee, but the rule still says first come first park basis. We were able to park on both days. I'm not sure what would happen if more guests had cars.
