Iron Horse Nomads Almaty

Great rental car Company. Only one that allows crossing boarders. Mark, a former Oklahoma resident, met us at the airport and gave great tips. He prepared us for possible situations like police intervention. Driving is fairly easy and the vehicle was in good shape. We made a loop from Almary around the Kyrgyzstan lake thru Bishkek and back in 5 days. The eastern border crossing is good on the Kazak side but roads are poor for 20 to 30 miles in Kyrgyzstan. Google led us astray once so be aware.

We rented one of Mark's cars, the Renaul Duster 4wd, for a week to check out the Southern part of Kazakhstan. We were amazed by the amazing and diverse sceneries so close to Almaty. The car and renting itself went super smoothly thanks to the great service of Mark.
Always awesome to rent from a native English speaker in these parts of the world. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience with IHN. Mark and Dinara looked after us so well and took great care to ensure everything went smoothly. Pickup of car was relatively quick and easy plus they offered great advice on terms of our route etc. We did experience a small issue with the car towards the end of our trip due to a combination of wear and tear and Kazakhstan’s occasionally unforgiving roads, but the team were quickly on hand to arrange a replacement on the same day which we were super grateful for.

Only thing to note is one of addresses on Yandex is their old office, the current office is at GPS (43.1807126, 76.7629642).

We rented a 4x4 vehicle for one week and everything went very smooth! Mark was very friendly and gave us lots of useful information. We could pick up and bring back the car at the weekend to our preferred time. Highly recommended if you plan an off-road adventure in Kazakhstan :)

Mark was great to work with, from choosing the vehicle to discussing our route to delivery and pick up of the vehicle. He made renting a super easy process, and the vehicle we rented - an UAZ Patriot - was in great shape and did everything we asked of it, including some off road segments. We rented a car in Iron Horses Nomads office in Almaty, held by Mark, for our roadtrip un Kazakhstan. Everything went well, Mark took the time to give us some precious advices on the places we wanted to visit, on the roads, on the car... He also had a lot of maps and camping equipment that we could buy at the office !
