Tours Vauban

It is a tower within the fortifications engineered by Vauban. It is next to a road and can be reached through a platform from Fort Niedergrünewald.

O Siechentor (Sichepaart luxemburguês ou Siichepaart; francês:
Porte des Bons-Malades) era uma torre de portão e fazia parte da antiga fortaleza da fortaleza luxemburguesa. O portão fica na margem direita do Alzette (visto da fortaleza), no norte da antiga fortificação e é conectado por uma ponte (Béinchen) ao portão Eichert (lux .: Eecherpaart; francês: Porte d'Eich).

Ao longo dos séculos, o portão teve nomes diferentes (exemplos): Siecherludeporte (1444), Sicherheitporte (1472), Paffendaler Porten (1479), Sichenleuth Pfordt (1659), Porte des lépreux (1717).

As duas torres de portão ainda visíveis hoje e a parede de conexão com muralha de madeira foram construídas em 1684/1685, de acordo com os planos de Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban (França), que queria incluir parte do Pfaffenthal na fortaleza de Luxemburgo para proteção. É por isso que essas duas torres de portão também são conhecidas como torres Vauban.

O Siechentor não apenas regulava e monitorava o acesso à fortaleza de Luxemburgo, mas também pretendia impedir que soldados abandonassem a fortaleza.
No primeiro andar do Siechentor, há uma sala onde um filme sobre a história da fortaleza de Luxemburgo pode ser visto.

Desde 1994, as torres Béinchen e Vauban, juntamente com os outros restos da antiga fortaleza luxemburguesa, estão na lista da UNESCO de Patrimônios da Humanidade.

En este ambiente ricos hay estilo español y romano- galo y otras prusiana y austriacas. Hacer una Caminata Wenzel. En la actualidad esta ciudad es Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO. Hay parqueo público.
