Hotel Playa de Cortes

Beautiful old colonial hotel. Huge grounds with flowering bougainvilleas, right by the ocean, big rooms with high ceilings, friendly staff, air conditioning and heat. Loved it!

I personally love old Mexican hotels. They have so much character. At Hotel Playa de Cortez the rooms are clean and the service is friendly. It's right on the beach so you can hear the waves from your room.

Life is what you make it.

Don't expect a 5 star hotel for a 3 star price you crybabies.

My basic room had no hair dryer microwave or fridge so bring a cooler.

The hotel is old and it's showing its age but depending on how you look at it you'll either love it or hate it.

We had a nice quiet time on the 4th of July 2017 no partying whatsoever.

Breakfast was okay but I rather go out to another place next time I did not have dinner there.

The views are great and the beach is calm bring goggles and a snorkel the water is very clear in the mornings and there is plenty of fish.

I will definitely be back.

We drove 8+ hours to come here from AZ. I'm from Sonora myself so it was like home. The rooms are large, morning and sunsets are amazing. Like one of the reviews said, the place is showing its age but it is very well cared for. They made all our concerns right, there was a small lizard in our room. We named him Billy, he'd come out all day and go in at night. The towels and table cloths in the restaurant/bar are a little dirty, but the food was really tasty. I give it 5 stars for the homelike feeling and the beautiful exclusive place.

Old school charm at a price that hasn't kept up with time. You can feel the ambiance of times past because they haven't modernized much and destroyed the feel. Sure it needs some TLC, but if you are into authentic, historical, and charm, you won't be disappointed.

One of the nicest Hotels one can experience on the west coast. I recommend it to everyone. The restaurant is great and the food is even better with very helpful staff. And not to mention the flavorful drinks. And all for a reasonable price

I was very impressed with the well manicured grounds and overall cleanliness. I would most definitely go stay there next time I'm in Guaymas.

We are here at least 8 times each year. We love.it. Old Spanish Style Resort. Good Restaurant and the people are fabulous.

Amazing place just in front of the ocean, exelent bay, perfect to swim. The building is a kind of hacienda construction, classic. I totally loved it

We had a memorable stay in the Guaymas/San Carlos area. It was a few years ago in April and the weather was gorgeous.
We learned while staying at this Hotel Playa de Cortes, that this hotel is where the Mariachi singers costumes originated.

Stepping back in time...a truly elegant Mexican setting. Simple tasteful dishes and thoughtful service.

Actually i was outside because there is a hidden place that only a bit of people know but i have been in that hotel n is preetty good confortable n with a great service

I stayed in a basic room. The next day, i was promoted to a jr. suite. Great view and everyone there is super nice.

Beautiful place to chill with family, amazing morning views and sunsets, would come back anytime soon.

Beautiful setting no list of rules, personal very accommodating. I stay here for 6 months every winter.
