Expiatory Sanctuary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Looks like a European cathedral, it's a stunning church both in the outside and inside .the place has virtual tours by scanning a qr code, I recommend you to visit if you are in town.

It is an ancient construction, it is beautiful and I recommend it if you want to learn, it has a lot of history and it takes a lot to be constructed, it has catacombs that you can visit, if you are catholic you can go to the ceremony, there are a lot of weddings and sweet XV, there are interesting sculptures and there are a replica of La piedad.
There are problems with parking but there are many options around, on average there charge your 50 pesos per hour
On Sundays it is misa, at 8, 9 and more hours, some people take pictures

A new gothic construction. It is beautiful. Highly recommend if you come to Leon. Has a lot of history, it took a lot to be completed.
It has catacombs that you can visit.

This church is just amazing! The architecture is astounding. The acustics is very good, you can hear someone talking in front of the church all the way to the back. This is a must see for anyone. And behind the church is the catacombes, spooky and historical check that out.

Beautiful colors. We checked out the crypts under the church.it does close during the and opens back up. I think it was 20 pesos to go in. The bathroom is behind the church.

Beautiful church inside and out, visit the crypt in the back, stroll the park on the side and get a picture of the Leon letters and angel wings. They still have services daily.

It is a very beautiful place that you must visit in Leon!! And if you have a chance to go inside, DO IT! It is even more beautiful. When I was there I felt I could breathe freshy peacefulness air. Very nice place to sit down, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Make sure you take time in the garden to look at the pictures and read the history of building the temple. So interesting.

Amazing architecture, if you love visiting cathedrals, temples or such places you will love it. When I visited the Expiatory Temple in Leon, it had at least 3 weddings and near to this place you will find a lot of restaurants, bars, etc in the next streets.

WOW. I am not a church person but had to see this one. So glad I did. It's so Beautiful, Stunning, a must if your down in Leon. the shear size will blow you away. the craftsmanship will stun you and the simplicity will amaze you even more. love this church
