Beautiful Church. Most definitely something every believer should experience at least once in their life time. Feels very peaceful and spiritual. They do have parking near by. We went on a tour during the week and it was a lot less crowded than when we went on actual Sunday. They do the blessings on the side of the church for all your items and yourself as well. Mass its almost every hour and taking a walk to the chapel on the hill its a most.

If you’re going to Mexico you should definitely visit the “Basilica de Guadalupe”

The basilica was packed with lots of devotees, and you could really feel their love for their Guadalupe.

It is a beautiful place, full of peaceful energy, and a extraordinary architecture.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in Mexico City. With over 20 million visitors making the pilgrimage each year, god surely looks down upon this place with good favor. The virgin mary made appearances five times since the 1500s. Must visit in CDMX

A must visit in Mexico City. Provides everything you need to organize your spiritual life. Lots to see and do. It’s kinda like a Catholic theme park.

Such a beautiful and well planned building! You can go on moving walkways beneath the display of Juan Diego's Tilma on which Our Lady of Guadaloupe miraculously appeared and whatever sounds you make will not disturb the hourly Masses!

This is a most when visiting Mexico City even if you are not Catholic! A beautiful church, the hsitory the new and old chruches are awesome, there is s sense of something special. The only downside ( as in too many places in Mexico City) is as the surrounding areas, which are dirty, the traffic is bad, street vendors obstructing the streets, etc. I have not seen the shape of the parking lot of the Basilica, but it is a plus, they also have a nice selction if souvenirs at their store, and you can have your purchaes blesed right there on one side.of the main basilica. In any case, I'd rather taking and uber and ask to be dropped off at one of the entrances. Either way is worth the visit.

I made the trip to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe fifty years ago with my family and can remember as an impressionable fifteen-year-old seeing the faithful walk on hands and knees to the shrine. Now the devoted ride by the image of the virgen revealed to Juan Diego on a conveyor belt.

I went with a group of about 7 as a tour group. The Basilica is an amazing place and very well maintained. If you are Catholic there is the obvious spiritual connection you will feel visiting here. Also there is mass offered every hour on the hour when the shrine is open.
If you are not Catholic the architecture and art are still very much worth the trip. As with many buildings in Mexico City, some of the structures here are sinking and you can see this very clearly from the main square.
Finally crowds- crowds will be at their highest on Sunday mornings and of course on certain Holy Days. The feast day of December 12th will probably be mobbed as I was told as many as 2 million pilgrims show up on that day.

Very beautiful experience and a warm atmosphere feeling once you enter in there.
Even if you're not Catholic or don't believe in the Virgen Mary, there's something extraordinary and magnificent about this place and the original tilma that has withstand centuries of the earthly materials and particles.
I suggest read the history of this tilma and apparition along with the many encounters people have accidently and internationally tried to destroy this miraculous tilma. There's physical proof of the many "stains" and "marks" like the individual who accidently spilled an acid chemical on the tilma and nothing happened.
I recommend every Catholics to visit the basilica at least once in their life even for open minded Christians, monotheistic religions, and others belief to witness this wonderful palace and learn the history of the apparition and the birth of modern Mexico

We almost missed this gem. The awesome architecture of the interior of the cathedral is hidden from the street with a rather non distinct facade!

A really interesting piece of architecture that is well worth the journey outside of the centre of Mexico City to visit. You can get here by using the Hop On Hop Off bus which is the cheapest option and it is a great spot to visit and have a look around.

An honor to have been allowed a visit to this scared site and witness the steadily flow of worshippers, pilgrims, and tourists wander around in awe at this important religious center.

The stream of pilgrims can be seen from down the boulevard leading up to the famous basilica, and in the surrounding area there are plenty of stores selling momentos to commemorate the visit

The Basilica of Santa Maria of Guadalupe was built from 1777 to 1791 with a design by architect Francisco Guerrero and Torres. The Basilica is one of the most visited in the world. 20 million pilgrims visit it annually, 9 million do so on December 12, the day that Santa Maria of Guadalupe is celebrated. It constitutes an outstanding social and cultural phenomenon. If you need to renew your faith and fill yourself with peace, come and you will leave renewed by being on the Tepeyac hill, which was where the Virgin of Santa Maria of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego, see up close the image that was impregnated in Juan Diego's ayate You will leave renewed, it is a unique experience that you have to live, do not wait and come and see this beautiful Basilica.

It was an amazing experience!!!

If you're in the area go!!!

You can also purchase souvenirs and have them blessed to take home. I recommend purchasing inside the basilica and not in the stores nearby. Or you could if you so choose and then tale them to get blessed

We got rained on during our visit but it was still so worth it !

Definitely a must visit if you're in Mexico City

Very beautiful place, really recommend getting your picture taken when going up to the original church. The pictures are cheap and very beautiful. There’s a store on top that is very affordable. Very beautiful view. I also recommend staying for the entire mass.
WARNING: if you go to the mercado to get food go in a group there’s a restaurant that will basically surround you a pressure you into their food when there is much cleaner and better options behind them. There’s much better food out of the basilica to but just don’t go to that group.

This is for sure one of the most MUST while visiting Mexico City even if you are not Catholic.

To the people going for the first time there is under/behind the altar a path to see the Image of La Virgen de la Guadalupe.

Sadly there were a couple making out and much more than that, that I almost faint when I saw them, I mean there are places for this ... I wish more security were in this place.

Huge new church with great modern design, surrounded by 2 older smaller churches. The 2nd biggest christian pilgrimage site in the world, after Vatican.

Basilica de Guadalupe is an essential visit for anyone, but as a Catholic, it holds a profound significance. The serenity and sheer beauty of the place engulfed me with a sense of peace and awe. Being able to witness the Virgen de Guadalupe multiple times was a deeply moving experience. This sacred site exudes a tranquility that touched my soul.

Busy on Christmas but there are great showcases of mariachi and other markets nearby to walk around.

There is a lot of history written on every wall. The original church started sinking, so they ended up building a new one. The Basilica is exactly what you would think it would be. Precious religious images.
