Hacienda Jesus Maria

Travelled here with our elderly parents from the UK. It's wheelchair accessible in most parts.

Our guide was a lovely local girl, I think her name is Yvette. She was very interested in us and in giving us a great tour. She has a lovely warm and giggly personality and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

The original house is beautiful. The grounds are full of many different plantations and not just cocoa. If you're lucky you'll also see monkeys sitting high up a huge mangoe tree.

We made our own chocolate with the cocoa beans.

Then we finally visited the shop where we were given a very good selection of free samples. There is absolutely no pressure to make a purchase, but we couldn't resist.

There is also a restaurant, though not sure what is served but I did see children drinking delicious looking chocolate milkshakes.

The plantation is definitely an experience I would recommend.

Excellent explanation from Ms Chely, best tour guide ever!. Enjoyed walking through the cacao farm. Enough parking space, restaurant and store. If you have mosquitoes bite allergies be prepared.

Great experience!!! We had Alexa as our guide, she was great, super knowleadgeable, happy to show us around and answered ALL our questions. The Hacienda is a little piece of paradise.

The owners are really involved in how the plants are grown, to the fruit and the ingredients and process that goes into making high quality chocolate.

Absolutely love this place. The tour is well worth it. They have a botanic garden with various plants and an area where with the old house and belongings of the hacienda workers. You visit the owners’s old house, it’s like a museum. Then you get the chance to create your own handmade chocolate. The best thing is that everyone who works there is super kind and attentive- it was a wonderful experience, loved it!

It was a amazing experience learning about how chocolates are made, how people used to make chocolates in earlier days their culture, their traditions all thanks to our guide Jesus Roberto.

Had a great tour in English with Jesus. The hacienda looks amazing and they still have a couple of old houses on the property to show the old way of life. Also the chocolate you get to taste at the end of the tour is amazing and really has some special flavours.

This is a tour I would highly recommend to anyone who is in madly love for chocolates. They take you on a tour where u get to see how chocolates are made from bean to bar.
The tour guide jesus was extremely friendly and knowledgeable n keeps u engaged thruouth the tour.Conversant with English language which was a blessing.
Their plantation tour is totally awesome.
U get to make ur own chocolate.
