What fun we had at Surf’s Up Cafe! The wait staff are very kind, the music fun, and we danced in the sand! You gotta love that.

Best part is we had delicious vegan food! I had the pizza - ask for the cashew cheese. Hubby had the mushroom burger. Both were absolutely delicious!

A must experience experience while in Mazatlán! First i must say KNOW where you are going our Uber drive took off in the opposite direction luckily one in our group new it was the wrong direction. Also secure a return ride before you get dropped off it is out in no where land. Now for the good part!!
Make a reservation!!!!! Look at the music line up and go hear some amazing music in the genre you enjoy. The food is amazing! The drinks are so delicious. Raspberry lime Margarita!! Who could ask for more?! The serving staff is efficient and funny! Our server spoke 7 languages!! 7!!! Also played a mean air guitar! Oh and the dancing in the sand! So fun. Also don’t forget to reserve a box of cinnamon buns to take home they sell fast and are TOTALLY worth 225 pesos!!
A fabulous place to do a little drinking 😎

And now with pizza!
An already outstanding restaurant for breakfast and lunch now offers the best pizza sunset combo ever.

Wood fired pizza with pretty much whatever you want on it alongside crafted cocktails and cold beer — what else could you ask for?

Dont get discouraged by the last 400m of the dirt route. The food is worth. View is AWSOME.

Fantastic restaurant for breakfast or lunch.
We stayed next door and had several meals here. We also were here a couple of afternoons to see the bands. Had a great time and the food and service were great.

Fabulous spot a little down the road, but awesome! The owner is sweet as can be and we enjoyed our beach front seat. Food was excellent and beer nice and cold! Looking forward to live music as well!

Great bar, restaurant on the beach in Northland mazatlant. Very funky, in Emerald Bay where the beach is great and empty of people. They have a good menu and bar offerings, decent prices. You can't take the bus out here,

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Surf's Up while we vacationed in Mazatlan. The staff are quite friendly. I commented to my friends that our server, Benjamin, had a pep in his step and seemed like he really loves his job. We all had huevos rancheros, and wow! It was so good! The tortillas were perfectly crisp, the beans, rice, peppers, avocado, corn, and salsa that were layered in the tortillas were delicious. The egg was perfectly fried. So good! Highly recommend. There were fresh cinnamon rolls that looked and smelled wonderful, but I was so stuffed that I decided not to get one. I'm kind of regretting that decision. The proprietor, Leanne, was friendly and told us they have live music many afternoons from 1pm-4pm.

This is, hands down, the best place for breakfast in Mazatlan. It also has wonderful lunch, and special private dinners by reservation. The chef/owner (Leanne) is charming, and has created a remarkable menu. Leanne goes out of her way to assure that every customer is happy, and many arrive as customers, but leave as friends. We have been going here for literally years, and could just gush pages of compliments. Please don't take my word for it; treat yourself and a friend or loved one to a meal at Surf's Up !

Love coming here for breakfast/brunch. The food is excellent (love the cinnamon rolls). The host is super friendly, warm and sweet. He always greets us with a hug now that we come in so often. I definitely go back just to see him! Also the music on Saturdays is a great way to spend time by the beach! Fun place to bring people from out of town!

I just wanted to add a few more pictures of breakfast fare at Surf's Up . We will be returning there this week to try out the bounty from new wood fired PIZZA OVEN at Surf's Up. Will report back after the taste test ...

Great place to experience some classic rock and roll I made the backdrop of Mazatlan Paradise. Very out of the way off the beaten path.

The portions are bigger than what I expected and the food is most definitely tasty. They have great ocean view, coffee and service. Totally worth the ride to nuevo Mazatlan and the dirt road adventure to get to this place. Open Friday through Sunday.

This is a lively, modern beach restaurant! The menu is filled with really great food, and many tasty options, including great finds for vegetarians and vegans, too. They also make very high quality cocktails, prepared with a mixologist mindset and ingredient list.

On my way out, I also spotted takeaway fresh-baked muffins, that were also very good (I had a tasty and healthy-ish carrot/pecan muffin I ate the next morning).

This restaurant is located at Emerald Bay, just north of the Pueblo Bonito, Emerald Bay. We came here on a day we were exploring the Cerritos coastline on scooters, and had to stop at this fantastic restaurant.

It sits right above a stretch of uncrowded, sandy beach, with stairs leading right down into the sand and waves. There is a casual and fun party-atmosphere, with party lights and many tables set in sand, overlooking the whole stretch of gorgeous north Mazátlan coastline.

The staff is welcoming, and do speak really amazing English. The restaurant is Canadian-owned, and was packed with a few larger family groups and a few couples when we were there.

They maintain a fun and informative social media presence (Instagram @surfsupmazatlan), and have had accurate and good reviews online (see “Mazátlan Today,” and the “Happy Cow” app).

We missed the live, local music (Saturdays often have reggae, for example), but it looks really great. With a sunset backdrop-what a fun spot to be!

The burgers looked really tasty, large, juicy patties with bacon and cheese. I had a vegetarian crunch wrap. It was in a large hand-made, savory herb-accented tortilla, filled with black beans, cheeses (cheddar, even), tomatoes and greens. The whole thing was pressed on a grill and was delicious. My husband had a chicken quesadilla, which was equally as great. We also had the cream of tomato soup, which was made right there, and it was deeply flavorful with the perfect amount of cream.

The cocktails had the absolute freshest garnish I have seen in all my 3 weeks of traveling in Mexico this holiday season. They were outstanding. My sour apple creation had several absolutely perfect green apple slices as garnish.

Our server, Benjamin, said the chilaquiles are not to be missed and are the best. We learned the talented chef that day was his mom. What an enthusiastic and vibrant group.

I am so glad we ventured north out of town, and made this stop. Totally worth it, especially if you’re craving something super fresh, tasty and literally homemade while maintaining a level of well-executed, gourmet food.
