Very special but tough hike. After you park at the end of the dirt road from direction Tapalpa, you follow the trail straight ahead to a small river. You pass a gate and the river and follow the trail on the other side. After ca. 800 meters or so you reach the decent down to the canyon. It is quite steep and slippery and about 1 km long. You need good hiking shoes or trail running shoes with good grip. You follow this trail all the way down to a small fall. After that you follow the trail to the cascade which is at about 300 meters. Wonderful views. A well trained person can make the hike in 1.5 h or less. A less well trained person might need 3-4 hours.

Intermediate walk up and down. Definitely tiresome but so worth it.

A somewhat strenuous hike out, but totally worth it. The trip can include not just the super tall waterfall, but also the lower falls as well as some cliff overhangs slightly higher up the mountain.

Grate place to do some hiking, beautiful waterfall, is not an easy way to get down to the waterfall, get enough water and adequate clothes. Grate to spend some time in nature.

It's the tallest waterfall in Jalisco. It's gorgeous. Do it. It's a steep but totally doable hike.

A must do in Tapalpa. Beautiful drive and hike to the waterfall. You must be in good shape to do the hike and the wetter it is the more difficult the hike will become. Don't forget the caves on the way. If you are with a guide you will get the history as well.
