Restaurante Bar Los Cocos

This place is incredible. A simple, quiet shrine to delicious food. I’ve now eaten here about 10 times. Every meal has been delicious. The seafood is truly fantastic. If you come to Melaque, you need to eat here. I’m not sure why or how the food is so great. It just is.

This was my review after first dinner here:

I had a truly succulent marlin filet a la Veracruzana (in the style of Veracruz, with red and green peppers, tomatoes, cilantro, and green olives). A generous portion of fish was served with rice, a small but tasty salad, and a generous portion of roasted plantain. I totally loved that touch of the Caribbean!

Good margaritas. Spectacular view. The service, while slow, was attentive enough, and they had at least one waiter who spoke excellent English. Good music.

This place looks super touristy like everything else on the beach in Melaque but have no fear, the food is excellent.

Now I’ve eaten a steak dinner; Thai style shrimp; shrimp al ajillo (with garlic and dried red chilies); pasta alla carbonara with shrimp - really good but very rich; grilled mahi-mahi; and various other meals. It’s all just awesome.

The shrimp here is some of the best I’ve had on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It’s bigger than served in other restaurants in Melaque. It’s perfectly fresh and has an intense but mild shrimp flavor I tend to associate with Gulf shrimp.

We had the prime rib on Sunday and the baby piglet BBQ on Wednesday. Both meals were fabulous. Highly rrecommend this restaurant for dinners.

The staff and the food was simply amazing and catered to whatever our needs were. This is our go to restaurant by far.

Under the watchful eyes of the new owner and his chef, this is an excellent restaurant with a superb oceanfront location in Malaque. Over the course of a month (Feb, 2023) my wife and I ate there at least 4 times, including Valentine's Day dinner which was superb! The evening view was just as spectacular! Heriberto also owns one of our favorite coffee/pastry cafés with freshly baked pastries daily, except Mondays...La Taberna, enjoy! Los Cocos also arranged for a special take-out lunch for our flight back to Canada.

Excellent food and fun service. Tables under the palapa or on the sand.

Between 2 and 6 pm happy hour. 2 Margaritas for mxp 80. Ans for a super lunch: 1 kilo fried fish mxp 400

Wonderful perfect

Y avons souper la veille du jour de l'an. Agréablement surpris. Belle décoration pour l'occasion. La nourriture était super bonne et très bien présentée avec style! Filet mignon très bon et tendre. Seule petite chose, on nous a servi le plat principal avant la soupe qui était une crème aux crevettes servie dans un pain. Délicieux et belle présentation. Ce n'était que drôle en fait...

Los recomiendo al 100% Muy rico todo y muy bien atendidos.
