My family has an absolutely wonderful time at this resort. A bit far to explore things within Merida on foot but made up for in the quality of the rooms, the quality of the staff and service, and the food. All of it so wonderful. If we visit Merida again this place will be on our list. Thank for a wonderful time!

This place deserves a five star review. The rooms have been refurbished in great style, the grounds are beautiful and transport you to another era. The restaurant and the service are outstanding with local dishes with a nouvelle cuisine twist. The extension of the hotel with new rooms and pool area are nearly finished and when the gym and yoga area all completed it will be amazing. Great place to host a corporate event or wedding.

My rating is on the restaurant only as I visited the restaurant not the hotel area. The service was great, Fernando was our waiter and he took very good care of us. He was polite, attentive, friendly and was knowledgeable about the food and drinks, he even helped me choose a wine that by the way was oh so good. The food was amazing, the flavors were on point. I had the steak tacos and my fiancé had the stuffed cheese ball which I also had a taste and it was packed with flavor. If I'm ever in Merida again I will definitely like to revisit. The place is just beautiful inside and out. I originally reserved for inside but the weather was so nice we asked if we could sit outside and the host was happy to bring us to the terraza. The palm trees are so beautiful. We had a wonderful time.

Hacienda Xcanatun is a hidden gem. It was recently renovated and the rooms and overall property are exceptional. The rooms are very well equipped, well appointed, and large. The common areas are very well kept and the garden is beautiful.
The manager and the staff in general are very attentive, polite and helpful. They definitely made the whole experience even better.
Despite a hurricane passing by during our stay, the hotel management made considerable arrangements to ensure the safety of the guests and that we never lacked electricity.

The only downside of the whole experience regarded the food options at the restaurant which we thought were unimaginative. Despite this, we still very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

This place is vibrant and beautiful! We went to their restaurant for breakfast. Everything is fresh, local flavors and ingredients, and most importantly delicious! The hotel looks like a gorgeous place to stay! The servers were all very friendly too.

The restaurant offers an exquisite eating experience in a restored hacienda setting.
The staff are delicious, engaged, interested and interesting.
So far the new accommodations are, to date, out of sight.

Everything amazing and great value at usd 200-300 per night.
Staff very attentive and friendly.

Only thing I would recommend to change would be to add a treadmill in the gym.

My wife and I were blown away by this place! The rooms are so nice and modern. The grounds are great! The people are awesome!

The good: Very modern, clean, gorgeous rooms. Solid amenities. The staff is extremely attentive and helpful. Parking is free. And, I don't know if this is for all the guests or just for us, but we got free breakfast every morning. There was a hot tub, incense, salt, etc in our room to enjoy.

Neutral: This place is quite north of the city. If you want to go into Merida proper you have to take a taxi or Uber. Traffic can be dense so budget for at least 25 min rides... also budget time or schedule in advance pickup as wait times can be from 3-20 mins depending on availability. On the brightside it is only about 20 mins to Progresso beach straight shot. The food was good, not amazing... but definitely solid.

Things to consider: I didn't want to say bad because literally nothing was bad, but I know when I'm reading comments I'm looking for specific things that may sway me one way or the other. The Tv was very nice and big... the problem we ran into is it runs on Chromecast... you have to stream everything from a phone or computer. No problem for us, but if you are less tech savy you may get frustrated. I'm sure the staff could assist. Along those lines, most of America's streaming services limit things in Mexico, so Hulu and channel specific apps don't work, but HBO NETFLIX YouTube all worked fine. Also, The walkways are all cobblestone... very easy to trip. SImilarly, there were steps in the room... which if you aren't paying attention you can forget and trip... just an FYI if you have issues with depth perception or walking. Lastly, the grounds are tucked away in the middle of a very active neighborhood. Everyone we encountered was very nice, kids and dogs out playing... but there is really no reason to walk outside of the Hacienda except for a very solid restaurant and Merida's best microbrewery about an 18 min walk through the neighborhood. Everything felt safe.

Lastly, and I debated on mentioning it... but if you are planning a trip for the next month or so there is major construction going on outside of the property. We were warned about it during check-in and told if it was too much they'd move our room. It was loud starting at around 8:30 am but they were usually done promptly at 5. As I said, they can't control it, and it is definitely temporary but just an FYI.

Seriously the most enjoyable meal of my life at the most exquisite hotel ever. We were lucky enough to have the whole restaurant to ourselves on a Sunday evening. The staff was attentive and helpful. The food was muy excellent and as I stated earlier.. the most enjoyable of my life. This hotel is hard to find but well worth the trek. The decor is luxury at its best. If you have the opportunity do not pass this up.

Beautiful place! The grounds are just fantastic and so peaceful. We went there for lunch and I was amazed by the wonderful colonial decor, the fantastic service by our server Louis and the spectacular food and wine we have! We definitely have to come back to this place. Totally amazing!

Absolutely beautiful property. It is as though you have stepped into the pages of the Arhaus catalog. Stunning interiors. Top notch amenities and excellent service. The staff is happy to help you with anything you need. Everyone is warm and welcoming and seem genuinely happy to host their guests. Antonio is the best!! If you are lucky enough to meet him during your stay, you will certainly feel as though you already have a friend in Merida. We can't wait to return. Thank you to all for a wonderful stay.

This place is an absolute gem! We stayed here for our 20th wedding anniversary and we could not have been more pleased! The location is prime: just minutes away from downtown Merida. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful. I cannot overstate how gorgeous this place is. And the accommodations are absolutely superb. We felt (and were treated!) like royalty during our stay. The staff are outstanding: friendly, professional, and accommodating. Waded treated us so kindly and was so helpful... we absolutely loved her. All of the staff: the guys attending the parking lot, the staff in reception, restaurant staff, even the guy cleaning the pool... were outstanding. My wife is convinced that we are going to book a stay here every couple months. And the prices are reasonable enough that I could be convinced to also. A note regarding their health & safety measures during COVID-19: book with confidence! It is a small boutique hacienda so it isn't crowded. The staff all wore facemarks and maintained strict social distance. The rooms were cleaned and disinfected just prior to our arrival. The gentleman that brought in our bags even put on the little booties that crime scene investigators wear before entering our room! We felt safe throughout our stay.

Gorgeous, rather hidden gem! Everyone dined outside on the open verandah, so the interior (shown) was empty. But everything was lovely and the food was delicious! My must-eat from the menu was the cochinita-stuffed pepper appetizer. All the dishes were beautiful and tasty, but this was very unique. (We also had a salmon dish and the stuffed beef, plus a decadent "chocolate madness" layer cake.) We were very pleasantly surprised by the Mexican bottle of wine we tried-- which, even though it was a pricier one on the list still was within pizza wine at home price range. A lovely evening and an incredible value!

Wonderfully maintained historical hotel with just the good mix of charm and luxury. The hotel is located just outside Merida which makes it a perfect choice to discover the Uxmal ruins or see the flamingos and mangrove in Celestùn. Very helpful staff which gave us good avdice on dining locations in Merida (try Picheta's rooftop for a drink, el Museo de la Gastronomia Yucateca for dinner). Food was also excellent at the hotel.
Worth noting that we were there on our honeymoon and were upgraded to the best suite available.
Visited in August 2021 for 3 nights.

This is such an elegantly relaxed and beautiful place that they could make a bowl of cereal into a special occasion. I am particularly fond of a weekend breakfast of eggs benedict or cochinita pibil, but also enjoy it for ladies lunches, and evening dinner on a chamber music concert night. Preparation, service, and menu selections all exceed expectation.
